"Greed, Ignorance Lead to Neglect in Assisted Living Facility"
I don't understand why A Place for Mom keeps recommending this assisted living facility, even after repeated warnings about the horrific ordeal my dad had to go through. Driven by sheer greed, incompetence, and negligence, this place is directly responsible for my father's passing. There's no skilled nursing present at all. Even when my dad was at the VA hospital needing his double dose of insulin, all she cared about was getting him to the bank for a $3,000.00 payout. Sad to think that they kept pressing him for his checkbook, sending urgent messages that she needed to be paid right away. Of course, they won't let anyone see the negative reviews on this site. What's the purpose of having it then? I'll be sure to share this terrible experience with my lawyer and make it public through the news.

"Terrifying Assisted Living Facility with Poor Communication"
I wouldn't even place my dog here. The woman in charge, will force your family member to sign away all their personal rights to her. You'll then get cut off from them forever. Then, without delay, she demands a $3,000 payment and takes Power of Attorney and their phone. Essentially, you'll be left in the dark about their condition, even if they were to suffer something major like a heart attack and had to be moved. You'll never get to see them again. It's worth doing a drive-by of this facility, especially to spot the two wrecked cars sitting in the yard. Not to mention the trio of wooden sheds attached to the house. It's like being lost in the middle of a spooky forest! My dad had to live his last days there.

"Excellent care at Megzie’s for Alzheimer’s patients"
My father has Alzheimer's, and Megzie’s home has been amazing. He used to live in another assisted living facility ALF, but he never got the care and attention he receives here. At his old place, he was often left dirty, but not at Megzie’s home. Her rates are fair, though the house is older. Her staff is great and always helpful. I can’t praise them enough. Megzie is very particular about how her patients look, what they wear, and how clean they are. My father has never been cared for so well. I am very grateful for the excellent care he’s getting.
