"Great Updates, Mixed Food"
The place is well maintained. Recent updates, like exterior painting and roofing, are a big improvement after a year. The rent can increase by more than 2% above social security, and there's no lease to prevent it. The food is fair, with high carbs and lots of sugar and salt. However, I love my screened-in patio, and my large kitchen in the spacious apartment allows me to prepare many meals.

"Comfortable and caring environment, struggles with staffing; homey atmosphere."
At Oak Manor, my stay in the Villa was pleasant. Most staff were caring and helpful. The main dining room offered good food options. However, I can't speak much about their larger facilities. Like many places nowadays, they face challenges in hiring competent staff. Despite that, it felt more like a cozy home than an impersonal institution, which suited me well.

"Safe and Friendly Place"
Everyone’s been nice. I feel secure. I need gluten-free food. They don’t have a special menu, but I’ve never left hungry.

Our family visited this place in person, and from what we saw, it looked like a really nice and good community.

"Disappointing Experience at Oak Manor Assisted Living Facility"
The Oak Manor nursing home didn't meet our expectations. Our mom, who was in hospice care, was placed on the rehab side. During her first week, she couldn't manage the three-point move to get into a wheelchair and fell twice. We had a meeting to discuss her care plan and asked for soft foods. But, sadly, we had to reject rehab every day and send back her food tray at every meal to get the promised soft foods. Even the Suncoast Hospice nurse was surprised by how what was decided in the meeting wasn't followed. Mom was in a lot of pain that wasn't controlled properly with her prescribed medicine. She couldn't even ask for more meds. We had to stay with her to feed her, refuse rehab, and ask for more pain relief. Eventually, we had to move her to a Suncoast Hospice Care Center. The poor communication and lack of proper training at Oak Manor left us feeling regretful about choosing that place during our mom's difficult time.

"Mixed Feelings About Oak Manor Assisted Living"
We picked Oak Manor because it’s like a real house, not just a hotel room, so my mom has plenty of space. She gets some extra help but can still do a lot on her own. At first, everything was great. But now there's new management who aren't very nice. The food is tasty, but they don’t have enough staff to clear tables, and there are a ton of flies buzzing around now.

"Unprofessional staff and unclear admission criteria at assisted living facility."
After touring, I was interested in a studio here but the representative never got back to me when I had additional questions. Also, during our tour, she made me hold her hot tea while she was driving a golf cart - that struck me as really unprofessional. When I asked why I should pick this place over other facilities, she told me that the management chooses their residents carefully to make sure everyone "fits in". This made me wonder if we were rejected for some reason. I wouldn't suggest this place - simply put, if the first people you meet are this unprofessional, what does that say about the rest of the staff who are supposed to care for you?

"Mixed Impressions at Assisted Living"
When I visited, the community looked clean and well maintained. But the staff's attitude bothered me. Some residents mentioned they weren't happy living there due to affordability. I lost interest.
