"Friendly Community but Consider Budget Before Choosing"
I really like Holiday Ormond In The Pines because I get to meet new friends. I would tell others about this place, but it might be too pricey for some. It costs a bit more than other places, and my budget is pretty tight here.

"Excellent Choice for Friendly Staff, Cleanliness, and Food Options"
I think Holiday Ormond In The Pines is a great place for my parents. The staff are really friendly and caring. The cleaning crew does a great job. Whenever my parents have a problem, they can call the front desk and it gets fixed fast. The food options are good and healthy. Overall, I'm really pleased with our decision.

"Pleasant Visit to Older Assisted Living Facility"
I visited this place and it was nice. The lady who showed us around doesn't usually do that, so it was a bit unusual. But she did her best and was really nice. It's an older place, but it looks like they take good care of it.

"Decent Assisted Living Facility, But Too Noisy"
My mom felt kind of swamped by how big this place was, with really long hallways. The staff was friendly though. The room was a good size. The dining room was ok, and the food was decent, but it was too loud! We could barely hear the person who had lunch with us because of all the noise and non-stop piano music.

"Doing Great!"
My father-in-law talks to us a few times a week, and he seems really happy. He enjoys the community a lot. He joins some of the activities they offer and has made friends. People visit his room, and they all go down for meals together he loves the food there. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Whenever we call with questions or concerns, they address them promptly. We definitely recommend this community.

"Disappointing Facility Practices: Beware of Hidden Charges"
This place doesn't have an in-house phone, so if you need help, you have to use the button they give you to wear around your neck. They're not super quick to help when you push the button. They will handle any laundry you have. Their timeline for cable set up seemed very off. They told me two weeks, but when we called, it was done in just a day. Upon moving in, they stated I was at a certain care level, but within my first month, they claimed the level had increased and tried to charge me more. I feel like they told me what I wanted to hear, just to get me to move in.

"Friendly staff, but facility needed work"
Ormond In the Pines was in the middle of tidying up and fixing things, so it didn't seem like a suitable home for my mom. The workers there were nice and replied to all our questions. We decided on a different place that better fits our current situation.

"Not a Good Fit for My Mom"
I didn't really like my tour of this elderly living community. What I saw made me realize this wouldn't be a good home for my mom. The community looks like it could use some work. It's a 5-story building, and I just wasn't okay with that. Overall, it just didn't feel like the right place for my mom.

"Beautiful Home!"
I couldn't have picked a better home for my mom than this place. She absolutely loves it since moving in. The property is so pretty, with lots of great scenery, and it's always well taken care of when I visit. Mom feels comfortable with the staff, which is most important to me. She hasn't complained about the food and even joins in some activities with other residents. Overall, it was a smooth and easy transition.

"A great, family-like retirement place with many options"
We can't recommend Ormond in the Pines enough! We were searching for a retirement community that offered both independent living and the option for assisted living if needed. Ormond has both and takes great care of its residents, helping them stay independent while also watching over them to make sure they’re doing well and have what they need. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles. People were friendly and spoke highly of the place and staff. The residents are like family and are very welcoming to newcomers. The staff knows every resident by name and makes sure everyone is cared for, including meals and other needs. It's a great place! You might find newer buildings, but you won’t find a better family atmosphere for your loved ones!

"So thankful for the care at Ormond in the Pines"
My mom and her partner have been at Ormond in the Pines for a month and a half now. I keep getting happy calls from them, sharing how much fun they’re having with their new friends and how great everything is. They rave about the food and staff. I’ve seen it for myself during my visits for lunch or dinner. Every time, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. It’s prepared well and offers something for everyone’s tastes. I love that healthy options are always available. The food is tasty, plentiful, and varied. I feel very comfortable knowing my loved ones are in such a caring place. It gives me peace of mind to know they are looked after with love and attention. I’m really thankful for Ormond in the Pines and appreciate the staff for their excellent care.

"My mother is very happy here!"
My mom loves living at Ormond In The Pines. Her life is much easier now. She already had friends there, which made settling in easy. She's very happy with her apartment and feels right at home. The staff won us over from the start; they're so helpful and accommodating. The young dining room staff are fantastic, and the food is really good. Our family can join her for meals anytime. She also has a kitchen in her room to cook when she wants. Mom teaches a Bible class and enjoys live piano music sometimes. The onsite administrative team is always there when needed. Even the housekeeper introduced herself and gave Mom the cleaning schedule. They provide a life alert pendant for safety, and staff are quick to respond if needed. A Place For Mom made everything smooth for us.

Ormond in the Pines is an older facility, but it’s still a great value. I’m really happy we chose this place. The staff is wonderful, the food is good, and there are lots of activities for everyone. "Life at the Pines"
Her daughters and I are more than satisfied with Ormond in the Pines. It's been less than a week, so we don't know how my sister is adapting yet. The home is clean, and the staff is very friendly and caring. There are many activities (arts & crafts, library, entertainment, trips to mall & movies, heated swimming pool, year-round, bible study classes in different denominations, and more). If a person couldn't be happy here, they wouldn't be happy anywhere.

"Mother's experience at Ormond in the Pines is unsatisfying."
My mom's been staying at Ormond in the Pines for four months now. She's really not liking it much. Apparently, the other folks living there aren't too nice. She's only got one buddy in the whole place. My mom and my brother tell me it's neat and tidy, but everything's quite outdated. She only does some physical therapy there, so I do think the level of care is good, and it matches what we've paid for. My mom doesn't partake in any of the activities. Overall, we're not super satisfied with the place.

"Independent Seniors Thrive, Memory-Impaired Seniors Struggle at Assisted Living Facility"
For seniors who can look after themselves, this assisted living facility is top-notch and deserves a full 5-star rating. The meals are delicious and there's always something to do, including trips to the local bank and Wal-Mart, and assorted celebrations during holidays. Its great central location only adds to its merits. Worth looking into. If your elderly family member requires aid but still has all their mental faculties, they will likely thrive here. However, if your loved one shows signs of memory loss or dementia, think twice about allowing them to stay at the assisted living unit of Ormond in Pines. The facility falls short of fulfilling its promises when it comes to the elderly with memory impairments. The reminders they promised for bathroom use, socializing, and cleaning services may not materialize. You might find your loved ones scared and confused, in a smelly room lacking basic amenities like towels and linens, even though they're supposed to be included. A shower might not be given if the resident declines one. The design of the assisted living unit is also a concern with its dark, puzzling layout filled with unlocked exits to stairways, posing safety issues. But for seniors able to live independently, this place is still a good option.

"Good & Bad at Ormond In The Pines"
Ormond In The Pines is a pleasant place where my parent feels comfortable. The CNA’s and nurses are friendly and attentive. However, the sales staff lose interest once you sign up. The food quality is disappointing, and cleanliness needs improvement. Despite these issues, I believe my Mom is safe there. The retirement community offers a more home-like environment than a typical nursing home. Overall, I recommend it.

"Check meal quality and rental terms before committing to facility"
My folks moved in this place in February 2014 and, in my opinion, the facility didn't do a good job in including them in any activities or making them feel welcome. The food there is pretty bad and isn't served in satisfying portions at all. The employees aren't nice either, and it looks like as soon as you hand over the initial payment they tell you that there's a six-month minimum stay period, whereas I was under the impression that it was a month to month thing. My folks want to get out of there but they're stuck for the remaining months, and it's pretty clear that the facility doesn't really give a hoot about their overall happiness.

"Happy as a lark!"
I'm really happy here! The staff is very friendly and knows everyone's names. There are activities going on all the time, and the meals are great. I've eaten there a few times, and the food is excellent, especially the hot homemade rolls for lunch. Maintenance is always ready to help, even with small things like changing a burnt-out lightbulb. My loved one has her own apartment, which is nicer than a studio. It includes a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and garbage disposal, so it feels more like home. It's a little less expensive than many other places. The whole building is one square shape with a courtyard in the middle, and there's even a swimming pool. They have physical therapy on-site too. They offer exercise classes for an hour, three times a week, free of charge. They also take residents shopping, and she’s going on a mystery tour next week and got to see the Christmas lights over the holidays!

"Spacious apartments, great activities, and caring staff!"
I’m really happy with this place. We checked out a few others, but when we saw this one, we were amazed compared to the rest. They have a full calendar of activities, and the food is pretty good. My dad is thrilled he doesn’t have to cook! No complaints at all. The apartments are much nicer and more spacious than the small rooms we saw elsewhere for the same price. The staff is very nice, and the facility looks great. We originally looked for my stepmom, but Dad liked it so much he moved in too. I’d definitely recommend it.

We are really happy with it. It feels like family. It’s a medium-sized community, and my parents felt comfortable when we visited. They are on the independent side, but they still get meals. There are lots of activities, but they don’t do most of them. I think there’s something going on all day, every day!

"Gay Dearbeck is Very Helpful and Caring"
Gay Dearbeck is very helpful and truly cares about the residents. My parents stayed at this facility, which has live-in managers. It’s private pay only, so no medical waivers, but they help residents find the right place when funds run out. The large studio includes everything except the phone. Adding medication management costs more, and full care. They also mentioned that Aid & Attendance benefits are retroactive from when she files.
