"Neglect and Poor Management at Assisted Living Facility"
Visiting my family member there is disheartening. I've found her wearing strangers' clothes, even the same outfit for two or three days straight. I often see the place deserted, or the medical techs are too busy on their phones to help. People fall and there's no explanation as to why or how it happened. I'm scared to even leave my name. What's worse, I reported all this to the main person in charge, and they did absolutely nothing.

"Director's Neglect and Retaliation Mars Assisted Living Facility"
The director at this assisted living facility is awful. She only assigns one caregiver per home that houses 12 adults. She seems indifferent to the issue of elder abuse. She fails to inform family members when their loved ones are taken to the hospital. Because of her negligence, an old man once got lost in Clearwater streets and ended up in the hospital after aimlessly walking six miles. Another woman, under her care, passed away at the hospital due to complications from a broken wrist. While the caregiver was distracted, one elderly woman was even attacked by a male resident. should not be entrusted with the care of our loved ones. When I reported her to the Department of Children and Families, she retaliated by forcefully evicting my elderly mother.

"Care Quality Varies, Communication Lacking"
We chose this place because it has a special area for people who need extra help remembering things. This way, if my family member needs more help, they don’t have to move somewhere else. But they really need to get better at talking to us. A lot of the workers and bosses keep changing. If you’re thinking about this place for your family, make sure you know how they run things.

"Family Happy with Pacifica Assisted Living's Personalized Care Approach"
Our family is pleased with our decision to place mom at Pacifica for her care. The staff kept us updated and genuinely cared about her needs. The smaller, more intimate "pod" environment suited her better than larger, multistory facilities.

"Improving Assisted Living, But Aides' Presence Needed Longer"
At first, I had big doubts. It's tough to let go of my dear husband. But things are getting better over time. I wish the helpers could stick around longer to really get to know them.

"Caring Staff and Great Conditions!"
I went to the facility on a Tuesday to visit my former mother-in-law. The staff in Cottage 3 were really helpful during my first visit. My son and his family visit her often, but I live in Iowa and don’t come to Tampa Bay very frequently. I used to work as an EMT/paramedic in Hillsborough County for 25 years, from the 1970s to the 1990s. I’ve been to many health care places in the area, and sometimes the conditions weren’t great for the residents. But during my surprise visit, I was very impressed with how well the residents were taken care of. You and your staff clearly care about making it a good place for people who can’t care for themselves anymore. So, thank you!
