"Great tour at a clean, faith-based home; disappointment over waitlist."
did a good job showing me around the place. There are different types of rooms available. I really liked how clean and organized everything was. It's great that this place is built around faith. There was even a guy leading a group of people in songs when we walked in. The residents were really into it. I was pretty disappointed though when I found out about the long waitlist for a room. I wish I knew about it before I came.

"Great staff and peaceful community!"
The staff has been super helpful. It’s a peaceful community. They have been understanding during my parents' move. The maintenance team has handled any issues quickly, and it’s comforting to know there’s a nurse and maintenance available after hours. It’s very affordable for everything included with the lease.

"Consider Other Options for Healthy Aging at Park of the Palms Manor"
My mom is thinking about moving to the Manor, but I don't think it's necessary. She's strong and doesn't need the type of care they provide there, plus their services aren't great. I think it would be better if she had an emergency button in her apartment at Park of the Palms or something similar, and other stuff that's meant to help older folks stay in their homes longer.

"**Park of the Palms**"
After just a few days, everything at the assisted living facility has been exceptional. Mom loves it, and the best part is that everything she needs or wants is right across the street.

"Quaint, Low-Cost Living Facility With Some Shortcomings, But Workable"
We visited the main office and met staff. We had already seen her at a health fair for seniors. She gave us a booklet at the fair, and when we got there, she handed us a price list. We got to tour the place in a golf cart and see every type of apartment they offer. Some of the apartments were being fixed up after people had moved out. Each apartment was really big. Nothing fancy in any of them, but they looked well taken care of. She wasn't scared to show us the not-so-great parts. Lots of the apartments seemed empty. This isn't a big place, and there aren't a lot of extras or community activities. It's really about independent living. No emergency buttons in the bathrooms or anything like that. The furnished apartment that's open was big and pretty nice. The one-bedroom by the lake had a great view. Almost all of them have a screened porch. Some have a covered spot behind them, but no garages. We ate dinner in the cafeteria, but we were the only independent seniors there. Everyone was from assisted living. The cook is somebody we know. Our rib dinner tasted good and was just the right size. After a quiet meal, people got up and left pretty quick. Good things include: near our house, month-to-month rent including furnished, low cost because not many extras, across the street from stores, food tastes good. Not so good things: small, geared not so much towards friends or activities, mediocre landscaping, older buildings, spread out. Assisted Living Facility, if needed, feels more like a nursing home. There's a pool that they'll heat if you ask. Also an exercise room and a library. Small town, small but faith-based community, my folks like that. I'm only giving it 3 stars because it needs more, but it's good enough for what my parents need right now. Denise seems willing to help us out with different options we asked about. You can rent from one month to the next.
