"Mixed Experience with Staffing and Amenities"
Initially, we liked Renaissance. No weird smell, super clean. They allow dogs, a must for Mom. They gave us a spot near a door, perfect for dog walks. But, they don't have enough staff, especially on weekends. Sometimes, no one picks up when I call back the nurse. The maintenance person said they cut down the staff a lot. On the bright side, the nurses seem good and trained well. The food is just okay.

"Neighbor's transformation proves Renaissance's quality"
I chose Renaissance because I saw a neighbor during the tour. I thought she was 80 years old when I met her 40 years ago, but she looks even better now. If they can make her look that good, they must be doing something right. I've recommended them twice already.

"Top Choice with Room for Improvement"
They could make billing easier. The food needs work, and the dining area could be better. The swimming pool and transportation are great. I chose this community because it’s the best among others. I’d recommend it if the staff improves.

"Friendly Staff, Lovely Grounds, Recommended"
The staff is stretched thin, especially in the kitchen. They promise more interaction than they deliver. The grounds are lovely, and residents are friendly. Overall, a recommendation.

"Food Issues Spark Concern Among Residents"
We've had a big issue with the food lately, and it's making us unhappy. The chef left, probably because they weren't paying him well. Then a bunch of the waitresses, who were really nice, also left because of low pay. It seems like the person in charge here wants to fix things, but the company is being cheap. This could really hurt their reputation.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Care and Communication"
The room was ready when he arrived with everything he needed. The staff was nice and came with the activities coordinator and nurse to explain things to my FIL. They even brought a welcome basket full of snacks and drinks. This helped make the first day less stressful. But later on, the care wasn't as good. My FIL felt forgotten sometimes, and he didn't always get his medicine. Once, I forgot to sign him out, and no one noticed he was missing. Other residents also complained about not getting enough attention. The food was just okay, not great. It was hard to find help when I needed it because the front desk wasn't always staffed. When I asked for help, some staff seemed busy and didn't want to assist.

"Clean building, recommend based on positive experience."
We like the Renaissance North Tampa building and its cleanliness. Limited feedback on meals, activities, but would recommend based on experience.

"Friendly Staff and Great Location!"
I’ve been here almost two years. I adore my apartment and its location. There’s plenty to do. Not having a washer-dryer in my wing is tough, though. The front office staff is always polite and helpful.

"Limited Care, Staff Shortages, and COVID Impact Assisted Living Experience"
If your family member doesn't need much help, this place could work. But if they need more medical care, it might not be the best choice. They couldn't manage medications or help with dressing, feeding, and bathing, which my loved one needed. I paid extra for additional services, but after a good first week, things went downhill. They didn't have enough staff the second week, and then COVID hit the community. They couldn't even help my loved one with cutting food. One staff member said my loved one was too far from nurses and aides. The new nurse manager in memory care was worried they couldn't handle my loved one's needs. They couldn't keep up with laundry and even took it home to wash. When I checked my loved one's room, I found dirty sheets and linens. Even though I wanted my loved one to leave because of the staffing issues, they made me stick to the 30-day notice period.

"Terrible Facility Visit; Unresponsive and Uncaring Staff"
She showed no empathy and ignored what my mom needed. Our visit and tour felt awful and she didn't even bother explaining what the facility offers to residents and their families.

"Beautiful Place"
This place is really nice! The staff did an awesome job during our tour. They took their time showing us around, answered all our questions, and made us feel at home. However, my mom thought the rooms weren't quite big enough. She preferred another community we visited. Still, I recommend taking a tour here to see how nice it is."

"Respite Stay"
I put my husband in this assisted living facility for a week of respite care while I was away. It was nice because I didn't have to worry about him. Although he wasn't thrilled about being there, everything went smoothly according to what I was told. The staff treated him very well—they were friendly and kind. The community was clean and well-maintained, and the food was delicious. I would recommend this place.

"Helpful Staff, Unfriendly Community, and Lacking Diversity"
The staff at this assisted living facility are friendly. However, the residents have certain behavioral problems that they project onto others, causing unpleasant interactions. The caregivers are already well-informed about this situation. Jealousy and hostility seem to rule the day here. This isn't about struggling with the inevitability of death, but rather, it appears to be a kind of primitive, survival-of-the-fittest mentality. Think of it as a wild pack mentality or perhaps signs of sociopathy - it's difficult to say. Either way, newcomers are quickly initiated into the established order. Having been around older communities previously, this behavior is quite a shock. Additionally, there seems to be a lack of cultural diversity. Though it looks like management is trying to rectify this - maybe due to a lawsuit. People of color who are thinking about moving in should proceed with caution.
