Rustic Retreat has to be the worst senior care facility in southern Florida! Shockingly, they don't even provide call buttons next to the beds or in the bathrooms for assistance. If someone falls, they're expected to use their own cell phone to call the main reception, where often times, no one even picks up. The meals they provide are poor quality and tiny, like they're meant for kids. For instance, on Sunday evenings, they think serving canned fruit with cottage cheese is a proper dinner! There's no registered nurses on the staff and a doctor visits only once every fortnight, just to rush off. The owner, June, isn't pleasant, and she operates this place on a shoestring budget, resulting in cramped living spaces. On top of everything, there's additional rent charges beyond what Medicare covers.

"Inadequate Assistance and Amenities in Assisted Living Facility"
In my opinion, this assisted living facility isn't as great as it's made out to be. My friend was totally let down by the management. Not only were they less than up-front about the conditions, but some staff members were actually pretty rude. An incident that really stuck out was when a so-called medical aide made it clear that they were bothered having to help my friend out of the bathroom. There's definitely a lack in basic essentials, too. They don't even have landline phones in the rooms, call buttons for emergency help, or safety railings in the bathroom. It's definitely not the place for someone who needs a little extra help, in my opinion.

"Caring Staff and Cozy Atmosphere"
The owner and staff here are very caring. The place is small and comfortable. It used to be a motel in the 1950s. Where the pool was, there is now a big gazebo where I spend the afternoons with my dad. The staff has been there for many years. After 4 months, my dad calls it home! Thank you, Rustic Retreat.

"Rustic Retreat, Caring Staff, Comfortable Setting"
This place is so nice. The people who run it are really kind, and the staff are great too. It's not big and overwhelming, which is good. Back in the old days, it used to be a motel from the 1950s. They even had a pool! Now, where the pool used to be, there's a big gazebo. I like to hang out there with my dad in the afternoons. The staff have been working here for a long time, which is cool. After being here for four months, my dad says it feels like home now. Thanks, Rustic Retreat.
