"Friendly Assisted Living Community with Managerial Changes"
The community was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Communication with our family was good, and the food was delicious. Our only concern was the turnover of managers. I'd recommend this community to others.

"Wonderful place with great staff, food, and beautiful surroundings"
My mom and I really love Savannah Court! The staff and management are amazing and always ready to help. The place is so clean and pretty, it felt like a spa when I first walked in. The decorations are beautiful, and the courtyard has lovely flowers, birds, and squirrels. They often invite families to special events, and the food is fantastic like eating at a five-star restaurant. One of the cooks even makes the most gorgeous cakes. Can’t wait for the next event keep up the great work!

"Roaches and filth run rampant in Savannah Court facility."
Dirty and bug-infested assisted living facility disappoints. My spouse and I recently visited his Uncle at Savannah Court and were upset with what we encountered. His room was in poor condition with soiled carpets. Searching through his bedside table for his glasses was horrifying; each drawer was packed with roaches. Even the basket that held his medical supplies was swarming with insects. Speaking with an attendant revealed that this bug problem is known, and, despite her bringing her bug spray to work by necessity and reporting the issue to higher-ups, nothing has been done about it. This is not acceptable for a residence meant to accommodate vulnerable individuals. I hope that this critique can spark a change in the maintenance of this facility.

"Storm-Ready Facility with Friendly Staff and Improved Dining Experience"
My dad's happier here than his old place. It's clean, well-kept. The staff's super nice, even stayed during the storm. They didn't lose power, though I couldn't call Dad's room directly. Still, I reached the main number to check on him. He prefers the food here too. I'd suggest this place.

"Unexpected Reality of Savanna Court: Visitors, Dig Deeper."
Upon entering Savanna Court, its cozy ambiance and friendly administrators welcome you, spouting facts about the community. My initial stay was pleasant, but I soon discovered from residents and staff that Savanna Court falls short of its reputation. I can't fathom how it garnered such a top rating. Yes, the hallways appear clean. However, as you stroll down them, the foul odor of urine from unclean rooms grows intense. It's disheartening for the elderly residents. The place flaunts a variety of activities, but in reality, the options are sparse. Games like hangman become tedious over time and offer little cognitive stimulation. They propose activities involving other communities but frequently call them off or replace them with less appealing events. Consequently, resident participation is low. I strongly encourage anyone looking into communities like Savanna Court to collect references from not only the administrators who are keen to fill their spaces but also from residents and staff. Many of them are candid enough to tell you the whole story. Thanks to their honesty, I figured out that Savanna Court isn't the place for me.

"Mixed feelings about assisted living daycare, great staff but odor issues."
My mom enjoys the Friday daycare. Staff are friendly and helpful. Activities vary due to staff. Meals are good. Daycare room is clean but has morning urine odor. Staff managing, mom not bothered, but concern for visitors.

"Clean and Friendly Daycare with Slight Odor Issue"
My mom goes to daycare once a week and loves it. The staff is super nice and helpful. Sometimes they don't have activities, but when they do, Mom enjoys them. The food is good too. The daycare room is really clean, but there's a strong urine smell in the morning. The staff says it's from the residents' furniture, but they try to control it. It doesn't bother Mom, but it's a problem for me.

"Wonderful staff, happy residents, great food—what a place!"
I've had the pleasure of working with the staff and residents at both Savanah Court Lakeland and Bartow. They’re a great group of people! The buildings are inviting, homey, and clean. The residents seem happy and well cared for. I even stayed for lunch once, and the food was delicious—tender shredded beef, fresh bread, veggies, and a pear with whipped topping! The best part was the company. The residents invited me to join them, and we had a wonderful conversation! I teach pottery and painting there, and it’s the best job in the world. Seeing the pride in the residents when they finish their work is incredible! I’m thankful to the staff and residents for giving me the chance to be a part of their community. I can't wait to return!

Caregiving Family

My parent has lived at Savannah Court for over two years. The place has a pleasant atmosphere and senior-friendly décor. Each resident is treated as an individual, not just living a "facility" life. My parent wants to live independently, like in a house or apartment. Family members aren't treated like visitors, and the administration encourages family involvement. The health & wellness director has been there for years and is very dedicated, making sure everyone is cared for. My parent is very happy and loves being part of the Savannah Court community.

REDBIRD'S DAUGHTER
"REDBIRD'S NEST"
We needed a quick way to find a new home for Mom. She had been living with my younger sister, who got too sick to continue. My older sister contacted SeniorAdvisor.com and spoke to a wonderful, knowledgeable lady who helped us out. I visited one of the suggested locations, and while the director was very kind, I knew right away it wasn't right for Mom. Another day, I went to Savannah Court, and from the moment I walked in, took the tour, and spoke with the director, I knew this was the place for Mom. She is safe, happy, and well cared for, and we're so thankful to SeniorAdvisor for their help. Thank you.

"Home, Sweet Home"
We visited every assisted living facility in Lakeland, spoke with family members, and checked out the reputations of various places. We found that Savannah Court has something special to offer. The larger, flashier facilities felt like cruise ships or summer camps for seniors, with constant activities and pressure to join everything. While this might be good marketing, it can be misleading. We were looking for a HOME, not just a “facility” for our family member. Savannah Court treats each resident as an individual and meets their needs and preferences. Our family member is treated with respect and dignity and is thriving here. Savannah Court is very responsive to care plan adjustments and values family involvement. Our family member has been here for two years, and they don’t push residents out when they need more care. They go the extra mile to help them stay in their home. The executive director, care coordinator, and staff work together, and we really appreciate them!

"Lovely Place To Live"
This place feels really homey, and it's great for older people. The whole building is one floor and shaped like a square, which makes it easy to get around. It’s nicely decorated and has a peaceful atmosphere. There’s a lovely courtyard, and some rooms even have doors that lead right outside. Unlike some other places, there's a good mix of men and women living here. The staff are super friendly and get to know both the residents and their families. They also hold monthly resident council meetings where everyone, including family members, can join in. There are two cozy living rooms, two game areas, a screened-in patio, and even a small snack area. The residents don’t feel like they’re in a big “facility” but live a comfortable, home-like life. They even allow pets like cats or dogs, as long as the residents can care for them. With about 30 residents, this is a wonderful place – definitely the best assisted living facility in Lakeland!

"Compassionate Care for Residents, No Matter Their Needs"
Our family is really impressed with how Savannah Court takes care of its residents as they age. They don’t look for reasons to kick someone out just because they need more help or might be difficult. Unless a resident is very sick or it’s unsafe for them, Savannah Court does everything they can to help them stay. We’ve seen them treat challenging residents with dignity and respect, no matter what the residents say or do. They also focus on each person's unique needs. Many places say they do this just to attract people, but Savannah Court genuinely delivers. Whether food needs to be pureed, someone is on a special diet, or just has personal preferences, they are always ready to accommodate. They let residents and families make their own choices without interference. We really appreciate the family-like atmosphere and love getting to know other residents and their families.

"Spotlessly Pleasant"
Savannah Court of Lakeland seemed really clean and nice. I got to check out some empty rooms they had. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was similar to other places like this. Even though I didn't end up choosing it for her, I think it would have been a good facility. They followed up with me well, and She called a couple of times to check in.

"A Real Home"
Savannah Court isn't like other assisted living facilities. My loved one has a "home" here, along with all the ALF benefits. They don't treat everyone the same, but as individuals. It’s not like a conveyor belt for group control. They encourage family involvement and don't limit visiting hours, understanding that family members are caregivers. We wanted a home, not just a facility, and we found it. If you want a home, Savannah Court is the place.

My grandpa has been living here for over 7 months and he is very happy. The atmosphere is calm, homey, and has a nice, quiet pace. The staff treat my grandpa like family. They help with his dietary needs and follow his doctor's orders. The administration and staff encourage family involvement and don't resent it. They don't use marketing tricks to attract people. The executive director is compassionate, and when she talks to a resident, she stops, looks them in the eyes, and really listens and cares. My grandpa had a terrible experience at another place nearby. Savannah Court is a breath of fresh air!

"Helpful Info for Finding Senior Care and Day-Care Services"
Thank you for this chance to learn about amazing senior care options. I was surprised by how many great places are out there. I also found out that Savannah Court offers day-care services. This information is really helpful, and I plan to share it with others. I used this placement for my husband, who has dementia, and it gave me a much-needed break.

"Absolute Nightmare of Assisted Living Facility"
I don't suggest this place. So many alarms were blaring, folks needed support but there was no help in sight, and the telephones were endlessly ringing. When my mom was at the hospital, one staff member took her credit cards, a flat-screen TV, and a laptop. This person ransacked her dresser, found her social security card, and even shifted her social security to another bank. She was kicked out not long after because there was no money for rent after the theft. They told us to sell the house and all that. They gave the eviction order to my mom while she was hospitalized, instead of me, meaning she didn't receive it. They phoned me at 4:00 PM letting me know she had to leave the next day. We initially chose them since they're a mere 5 miles from me and only accommodate 38 people. It felt more like a cozy bed and breakfast at first, which deceived me initially.
