"Poorly Managed Assisted Living Facility"
They don’t have enough staff. Sometimes, there’s only one med tech for up to 40 people. It takes them forever to respond to the emergency cord. They’re so slow with giving out medication that they often have to skip doses. And baths? If you’re lucky, you get one a month (just look at the greasy hair). When you complain to the Administration, they just give you the runaround. Please, don’t send your loved ones here.

"Great Assisted Living Experience!"
It’s been tough due to our family situation, but that’s normal. Communicating with staff is hard, especially during Covid. When I reach them, they’re responsive, but better communication would help. Everything else is great: friendly people, cleanliness, easy access, and my loved one is happy. The front desk lady is amazing, and the activities are enjoyable. Affordable and private rooms are a huge plus. Very happy here.

"Subpar Care and Poor Communication at Assisted Living Facility"
If you're looking to know about my experience, it wasn't really that great. I visited twice, once before this whole COVID thing and once during, so I can tell you, things were definitely different each time. Both times, I got to chat with the guy who runs sales and marketing, and honestly, he seemed pretty cool. But after that, things just started to go bad. I'd been in touch with the guy a bunch of times, emailing him, giving him calls, and telling him constantly that she couldn't move on her own. They promised me that she'd be totally fine in a level 3 care situation but in the end, that really wasn't the case. They knew she wasn't right for assisted living, and still they misled me. This was my first time dealing with this stuff, and I really could've used a little more help from them. I asked if we could move her things in early because she was so weak and they gave me the go-ahead. In fact, I've even got an email about it. We rented a truck, showed up, and were turned away because they apparently didn't do move-ins on Saturdays. When we did finally get in, there were still notes from the last person who lived there and it was clear they hadn't even vacuumed, let alone cleaned the place. We tried moving her again on Saturday, which had been sceduled, and yet again, they acted like they had no clue we were about to show up. These people just don't communicate, and they dropped the ball on a lot of things. She fell a lot because no one would answer her call button, and eventually broke her hip. The care here was subpar, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking.

"Poor Maintenance, False Advertising at Assisted Living Facility"
We really thought the place looked neglected, even though we get it, renovations had to be paused because of the COVID pandemic. Theyseemed very friendly but appeared somewhat disheveled. We got a chance to taste the food and it tasted pretty bad. But the biggest problem of all: they advertise it as a one-bedroom apartment but it’s merely a studio!

"Outstanding care and support for our mother!"
Our family has trusted Savannah Court to care for our mother. During our many visits, we have seen the excellent care given by the kind and understanding staff. The only issue we've noticed is with the off-site billing department, which sometimes seems to not work well with the rest of the facility. Other than that, our experience with both Savannah Court and Savannah Cove has been great, and we highly recommend them!

"Review of Savannah Court of Maitland - Maitland, FL"
The team here mostly seems to care about patients on the court side, but I'm not too sure about the cove side. I've seen technicians standing around when patients need help. It's just my opinion. Some staff members are awesome, but I don't know the names of others. My big complaint is the parking—it needs to be addressed!

We chose Savanah Court for my mom because it seemed like a good deal and it's close to home. Turns out, it was the right choice. Mom's doing well there. We're happy with how they take care of her. She likes her apartment, and they're good at managing her medicine and therapy. She's been through a lot lately, with lots of hospital visits, but now she's doing great. Mom really likes the food there. They have lots of choices, and it's tasty, so she's eating well and enjoying it.

My mom has really flourished at Savannah Court. Even though moving from independent living to assisted living was tough for her, she’s extremely happy there now. She loves her room, which is bright and roomy. She’s made some great friends with the other ladies. I visit her often and have gotten to know most of the friendly and helpful staff. I also feel very reassured knowing that there’s always someone keeping an eye on her, making sure she takes her medications and watching for any health problems that might come up.

"Momma is happy, and that makes us happy!"
If you are looking for a community for your loved one, stop right here! This is the place where you and your loved one will be very happy. Isn’t that what really matters? My mom is so happy and content here. We looked at three places, but we came back here to move her in. She has so many new friends, and every time we visit, she is never in her apartment. She’s either in the game room or chatting with other residents. I’m so glad she won’t be alone anymore. The employees are kind, caring, and attentive to all the residents. We visit often, and we see this for ourselves. When I’m not with my mom, I know she’s getting the love and attention she deserves. The carpets, rooms, and yards are all very clean and well maintained. So, if you’re worried, you don’t need to be anymore because you’ve found the right place—Savannah Court of Maitland!

"Gloomy Atmosphere and Cramped Rooms at Assisted Living Facility"
We visited this place while searching for a spot for my mom, and I wouldn't want her staying here. The place feels like a hospital. It provides professional nursing and recovery services, so there are people with casts and wheelchairs, which is quite sad. I also didn't appreciate that they have residents with differing needs, all crammed into one spot. It doesn't feel inviting at all. The rooms are tiny, almost like mini-apartments, yet they advertise them as regular-sized apartments.

We decorated it just like his house in South Florida. We take him out to dinner and bring him to my house to spend time with my kids. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Whenever I have questions about my dad’s care, they explain everything in detail. There’s one staff member who is really funny and makes me laugh every time. "Best place ever!"
I've visited this community for a few years. This is the best place for your loved one. I keep coming to their events, and it's great to see the same staff members working here for so long. Mark in the salon has been there for over 20 years, and some really nice servers in the restaurant have been there for over 5 years too! Steve and Carol always invite me to fun events. The place may not be the newest, but it is well-kept and clean. Everyone is happy here. I’m planning for the future and have inquired early because I like to be prepared. I feel like family, even though I don’t live here. Some caregivers remember me and call me by name when they see me at events. The food is fabulous too! I've had lunch there twice! I tell everyone at my church and book club to check out Savannah Court of Maitland for their loved ones. Someday, this will be my home too.

"Best choice"
I moved my mom into this community a few months ago. It was a struggle for me because I had become her caregiver, going to her home every day to help with medicines, cooking, and cleaning. I thought I was retired! Friends told us about Savannah Court of Maitland, and we booked a tour. I wasn't sure how to handle this with my mom, but everyone was so helpful and accommodating. They walked me through the process. I was surprised how happy all the residents were. I met several, and that gave me peace of mind. I even met another family member who raved about the place. It felt more active and friendly than the five others I visited. The staff's longevity impressed me; almost everyone has been there for years! Long story short, my mom's life has changed. She's made friends, she's happy, and I have peace of mind knowing she's taken care of. As they told me, I get to be the daughter again. They were right. Believe me, this is the place for your loved one. Just go see for yourself.

I recently visited Savannah Court because my dad might need a place soon. I was impressed by how welcoming it was. Many residents were in the main living room, singing and having a great time. I met some of the staff, and they all seemed friendly, caring, and really interested in the residents. The tour was thorough, and I noticed how clean everything was. The pricing was better than some other places I visited. When I left, the residents were starting lunch, and the food looked really good! I think we found the right place for my dad.

"Should've done it sooner!"
My husband passed away, and I had to take care of the home by myself. When it came time to replace parts of the house, I decided my life had to change. In 2015, my cousin and I started researching Assisted Living Facilities. We needed to narrow it down to three. I became ill, so the move became more necessary, and I relied on my cousin to visit the communities. When she visited Savannah Court of Maitland, she was impressed by the facility and the friendliness of both the staff and residents. One of my criteria was to find a place where I could stay for the rest of my life. I felt peace knowing that Savannah Cove Skilled Nursing and Rehab was in the same building. The decision was made! Even my first day at Savannah Court was a pleasure. They called me by my first name right away, making me feel like part of a new family. No more cooking, doing dishes, washing clothes, or cleaning up—just living life and having fun with activities, entertainment, transportation, shopping, and refreshments. My new family and home are now the best decision of my life. I should have done it sooner!

"Operator of Assisted Living Facility Exhibits Disgraceful Behaviour"
Beware! This assisted living facility is far from trustworthy. For any caring relatives out there, it's in your loved one's best interests to keep them clear of this place. If I could, I'd score this establishment below zero. Not long ago, my father's health started to waver. He would get dizzy often so they said it was needed to adjust his blood pressure medication. However, I soon found out that they had increased his heart meds by four times the normal dose. Their on-site pharmacy continued to fill and bill us for prescriptions, even when told them to stop. They only reasoned that prescriptions should be filled during emergent situations. Time and time again, they promised they could competently care for Alzheimer's patients. But now, only half a year since my father's admission (which included a hefty, nonrefundable $2,500 fee), they've practically booted him out due to behavioral changes. They refused to negotiate, unwilling to provide the required 45-day notice. They insisted on hiring a round-the-clock sitter, to be covered by us. They claimed incapability for such care, which was blatantly false. They suggested sending my father to their associated facility, a great resolution for them, but certainly not for us. Their primary interest lies in maintaining their income, without any regard for how their actions impact the resident or their family. Their explanations varied wildly, at first saying that my father had tried to leave and became hostile, then claiming he pushed someone. Their final tale stated that he punched a nurse. My father has never shown such aggression, a fact that two of their nurses verified. Despite his altered behavior, they never screened him for a possible UTI. Strangely, when they couldn't reach us one night, they alerted the police on my dad and came to my house at 2 am to "relocate my dad". I was not aware of their visit, so they transported him to the hospital for "evaluation". Still, the hospital hasn't confirmed if they conducted a UTI test or shared any results. This facility is the worst of its kind, and it's unfathomable how its director, could be so cruel to scheme against an 87-year-old veteran suffering from Alzheimer's. This is by far the most unprofessional organization I've ever come across.

"Good Care, Some Concerns"
My dad has been there for just over a year. We had a few billing issues, but they got resolved. The nurses are very caring, and the food and activities are well managed. We appreciate the smaller resident size. However, I wouldn't recommend the Cover rehab side. We faced several issues when my dad had to go there after his hospital stay. For his second hospitalization last year, we chose a different facility. Overall, it's been a good experience.

"My grateful experience"
I am very thankful for the staff at this facility. My mother recently went there for rehab on the nursing home side. Honestly, I was very impressed with how the staff took care of my family and watched over my mom during this tough time. I felt scared and worried when I learned my mom needed rehab. I’ve heard so many scary stories about healthcare facilities, and I wanted to make sure my mom got the best care possible. Thanks to the staff at Savannah Court of Maitland, I can relax knowing I did just that. Everyone, from the nurses and CNAs to the activity staff and therapists, helped ease my worries by taking amazing care of my mom. They made sure she felt safe, comfortable, and part of a family. Every day I visited, at any time, the staff had smiles on their faces like they truly enjoyed their jobs. My mom really had a great time there; she loved the friendly and hardworking staff, the fun activities, and the respect she received. In closing, I have to say that the managers are doing a fantastic job running this facility. They supported and encouraged me every step of the way, keeping me informed and working with me to help my mom have the best experience and get better. I am very grateful for everyone at this facility, and from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

Terribly Disappointed
"Grossly Disheartened: Pitfalls Overshadow Kindness"
Important to mention - your experience may vary greatly. Each individual has a unique set of needs and expectations. Speaking on my behalf and from my Mom's perspective, here's our genuine experience. On the brighter side: medical techs proved to be understanding and patient, promptly responding to maintenance issues in a friendly manner. The facility itself is quite compact and most activities seem popular and well-enjoyed (though, Mom, due to her health condition, participated only in Walmart outings). The receptionists we interacted with were notably cordial, particularly the ones working during night shifts. But the picture changed when my 80-year-old Mom (suffering from global aphasia due to a stroke) became a resident at Court's Assisted Living Facility, and occasionally a patient at Cove. She often mentioned tipping certain staff members for their kindness. That puzzled me as I wondered where her cash was going. But, it made sense when I saw the staff providing genuinely attentive care for her. A significant issue arose when Mom decided to change her Power of Attorney and medical surrogate. The Savannah Court and Cove staff did not accept this graciously, causing unnecessary friction within family relations. The situation turned sour when the facility's management signed as witnesses on the medical surrogate documents when they weren't supposed to. I rectified the error yet faced rude behavior. Another concern was that several days after her mysterious fall, Mom's heart rate dropped to a worrying 30 bpm. Only then did I discover about the incident while dealing with her dizzy-spell. Shortly thereafter, she got a pacemaker and was transferred to Cove for recovery rehabilitation. Yet again, I faced resistance despite having all the correct legal documents. The facility attempted to move her to a room reeking of foul urine. Staff members denied noticing any smell until I convinced them to switch rooms. In an alarming incident, a male Alzheimer's patient wandered into Mom's room at night, causing her great distress. The next day, I found out about the incident and discovered that he had been sitting on her bed. Mom was in pain, distressed and recounted the scary event to me in tears. When inquiring about preventive measures or monitoring for such patients, I was told there weren't any. The facility had evidently accepted this patient despite being aware of his condition. This raised concerns about the primary motive behind admitting patients they couldn't adequately care for. Additionally, I found cockroaches in her room and a large, smelly urine stain on the carpet that was only being dried with a small fan. Ensuring Mom's dietary needs was another uphill battle. Despite her dietary chart clearly stating pureed food, the kitchen and nursing staff initially refused to accommodate this. Only after numerous discussions, it was finally restored. A visit to my Mom's cardiologist led to transferring her back to Assisted Living. This review should spark immediate and thorough investigation into this facility. They need to prioritize patient care and take professional approaches when dealing with family issues. More so there needs to be internal staff communication and management of errors.

"Savannah Court: A Wonderful Place for Mom!"
When I was looking for a place for my mom, I read a review about a urine smell, which made me hesitant. But the representative from Savannah Court was very convincing, so I decided to visit. I did notice a urine smell, but it was from the laundry baskets, not the residents. They worked really hard to get my mom into the skilled care side so she could get stronger, and now she has her own apartment. My mom went from needing total help to being able to transfer by herself in just two weeks. The staff was very attentive and made sure Mom was included in everything and all her physical needs were met. The meals were good, and she always ate with someone in the dining room, not alone in her room. The call bells were answered quickly and always with a smile and a warm greeting. They treated me with the utmost respect when I was making my decision, and I know they will treat my mom with the same respect. I am so happy to have found Savannah Court!

"Nursing Home Not Fit for Mom: Unprofessional Staff, Dirty"
We checked out this facility on our hunt for a place for mom. The entire nursing team, including the Director, are all LPN's, with absolutely NO RN's in sight. The aides weren't very insightful, and I even caught one taking a smoke break outdoors. This is not only unprofessional in my book but also unhealthy. The lifts reeked, and the unpleasant smell was similar to that of dirty diapers, much like the odor from some of the rooms we passed during an unscheduled visit. The security was pretty slack as well, we strolled past the front desk without being questioned even once as we navigated from assisted living to rehab. We've decided to count this place out...gross!

My relative lived in this place. Before we signed the contract, the marketing and medical teams were all sweet and full of promises. But, everything turned upside down quickly. The head nurse and her team, along with the medicine techs, are not competent. They certainly need more training and more staff. Sometimes, my relative would use his emergency button calling for help, but it took the staff more than 20 minutes to show up. I've also noticed strong smells of pee and poop from wheelchair-bound residents. Don't let your loved ones stay here.

Steve was awesome! Between Savannah Court and A Place For Mom, they made this happen for us. The food is good. A big plus was the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, which made the transition seamless. I've had nothing but good feedback from them—they're great at communicating. What swayed our decision was their help in outsourcing other things, like providing a moving company. We're out of state, so that was important. They even had a nurse practitioner come out and assess her to make sure it was a good fit.

"Friendly and Welcoming Place for Everyone"
Out of all the places I visited in central Florida, this one was the friendliest. The staff went above and beyond to help. Residents of all abilities were happy and chatty, greeting each other in the hallways and helping out whenever needed. It felt like one big happy family.

"Very happy with our choice"
My family and I had been searching for an assisted living facility for our elderly mother. We visited several places around Central Florida, including Savanna Court in Maitland, for months. My husband and I had been visiting a friend who lives there for nearly a year. During our visits, we noticed how impressive the place was. The rooms are spacious, with a full bathroom, shower, microwave, and small fridge. The dining room is elegant, and the servers are friendly and efficient. When we brought Mom for a visit, we got to eat lunch there. The food was well-prepared and delicious, and we were told the menu changes daily. We chose Savanna Court for our mom, and she's been living there for about 6 weeks now. This is her first time living away from home, and we were worried she wouldn’t like it, but she’s very happy! She loves her room, the food, and all the activities. The staff are always courteous, friendly, and professional. The facility is well-maintained and managed. We’re delighted with the care Mom is getting. We’d just like to suggest hiring more Spanish-speaking staff. Thank you for taking such great care of her.

"This was my favorite place! Great care and activities."
This was my favorite place! They have skilled nursing care if she needs surgery, and she can stay with her same friends. The service was great, the activities were fun, and it was clean. Plus, it had the best price. It's number one on my list so far!

"Overwhelmingly Large Assisted Living Facility"
My main issue was how big it was! It looked cozy from outside but inside, it's like a huge army barracks. The rooms were nice, but I knew my mom wouldn't like it because it's so massive. There were lots of people there, though, so it's different strokes for different folks.

"Tiny Rooms"
Nice place, but the available room wasn't ideal. It was tiny, and the roommate, who had a stroke, couldn't communicate clearly. The bed was too close to the closet for my mom's walker. Still, the people were friendly, and they even treated us to a Boston creme pie during the tour.

"Questionable care and insufficient communication at assisted living facility"
The care quality here is questionable to me. As a son whose mother is dealing with early to mid-stage dementia, I struggle to know what's true - the facility's version or my mother's. Sometimes, I see truth in my mother's concerns, like when medical assistants choose the easiest task instead of what needs to be done. They let my 90-year-old mother make decisions, and that's concerning. The nursing director and their team appear to be professional and caring, but sometimes, actions don't follow their words. Instead of always finding myself complaining, it would be more useful if the facility could conduct regular reviews, maybe every six months. This would allow us to discuss issues when we're calm, not upset or overwhelmed.

"Loved it, but room not walker-friendly."
I really liked it, but the room wasn't easy for Mom to move around in with her walker.

"Mom's Not Ready for Restrictive Assisted Living"
Mom's not quite ready for this place. It feels too restrictive.
