"Colonial of the Palm Beaches: A Caring, Clean Assisted Living Facility"

I visited Colonial of the Palm Beaches, and it’s great! The staff are friendly, the place is clean, and they really care about residents.

"Pleasant Assisted Living with Upgrades"

My brother stayed at Colonial Assisted Living for a few months. Due to his worsening dementia, he had to move to a memory care unit. Unfortunately, there were no available spots in that section. Overall, the environment was pleasant, and they were making significant upgrades to improve the somewhat dated rooms and hallways.

"Residential Facility Earns Unfavorable Critique"

This place isn't something I'd suggest to anybody. I really wasn't impressed with this facility and I hate to think of someone deciding to live here.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

It was okay. I visited another place first, so that became like a reference for me. The people here were really nice. But they were doing renovations, so things were a bit messy. It wasn't dirty, just under construction. I know many older people have trouble hearing, but they were playing loud music in the common area, which I didn't think my loved one would like.

"Impersonal and Unhygienic Facility: Look Elsewhere!"

I urge you, please do not consider this facility for your loved ones. My mom had been living here independently for two years. They hook you with an attractively low price the first year, only to almost double that fee the next year without giving any valid reason other than their own company greed. The facility is not in the best condition. There's an unpleasant odor and it's terribly dirty. The food quality is poor and often, you could spot bugs roaming on your dining table. When we made the decision to move my mom to Fountainview, we settled all her dues and left her room in an extremely clean state. Surprisingly, I kept receiving a bill of $102.00 for almost four years despite not being a guarantor for her debts. Please, think twice and explore other options!

"Assisted Living Review: Love Staff, Renovations Needed, Location Issue"

This place is fixing up, which is good. The people who work here are nice and caring. The boss is smart and always helping out. It’d be better for me if it was nearer my house.

"Budget-Friendly Option with Limited Amenities, Subpar Condition"

We didn't think this assisted living facility was the best. It was one of the cheapest we looked at, so if money's tight, it might be okay. But there are other places in West Palm to check out. The food was good, especially the seafood bisque. But that's about all we liked. There wasn't much space for everyone besides the lobby. Some people might be okay with that if they don't care about extra stuff like movie rooms. But we weren't happy with how the place looked. The wallpaper was peeling, the carpet was sticky, and there were stains everywhere. Plus, there was even a hole in one of the walls. It didn't seem like they were trying their best to impress anyone. There wasn't any outdoor space, and the road outside was loud and busy. We wanted a livelier place. This might be okay for people who need nursing care soon. But if you want a place with more energy and nicer facilities, there are better options nearby.

"Staff Shortage, Lack of Attention Endured By Residents On Weekends"

They don't have enough staff on weekends and make residents sit in the common area to be "monitored". They really don't pay much attention to them there.

"Affordable Assisted Living, but Limited Cleanliness and Unpleasant Odor"

They is really kind, attentive and always ready to help. We can actually pay for this place. But sadly, it's pretty worn out, it isn't super clean, and has a smell of pee.

"Great place for happy residents and excellent care!"

I wasn't a fan of how the semi-private rooms were arranged, but this place was super clean! Everyone living here seemed happy and was engaged in activities. I would feel good about placing my loved one here, knowing they would get great care.

"High pet service costs and lackluster ambiance disappoint potential resident"

I took a tour of this place as well. The executive director promised to match price if other facilities were cheaper. They didn't have a solution for providing dog-related services. They accept dogs, but the price to hire a walking service is too high. The facility didn't look appealing or cozy.

"Mixed Feelings: Nice Amenities, Unsure Fit, Warm Hospitality with Pie!"

This place seemed pretty nice and had a lot of stuff we want. I'm not sure if it's the best place for my mom though. The people there were really friendly and even gave us a homemade apple pie after showing us around!

"Amazing Care and Comfort at Savannah Court of the Palm Beaches"

My Aunt has been living at Savannah Court of the Palm Beaches for a few months now. She has gotten great care. The staff really goes out of their way to help. I can see how comfortable and safe she feels there. Knowing she is so happy makes me feel better. Thank you for everything you do!

"Grandma is thriving and loves the food and activities!"

My grandmother lives here, and since moving in, she’s become much more social than she’s been in years. They have so many activities for residents to enjoy. I’ve had lunch here several times, and the food is really good with lots of options.

"Amazing care and kindness at Savannah Court of the Palm Beaches"

I was really impressed with how my mom was treated at Savannah Court of the Palm Beaches. The staff were always friendly and caring. They did everything they could to help my mom and meet her needs. The medical team was very attentive and supportive. I always felt that my mom was safe and well cared for. I would definitely recommend Savannah Court of the Palm Beaches to anyone looking for a good place for their loved ones.

"Nice Place, But Couldn't Meet Mom's Care Needs"

My mom stayed at Savannah Court for 8 days. It's a nice place, but they didn't have the license or skills for her care needs. It was an expensive mistake, but Savannah Court could be good for other families.

"Caring Staff, Unappetizing Food, and Room Issues"

Savannah Court's workers are mostly nice, professional, and helpful. I put my parents here, and they're being taken good care of. But the food isn't tasty, and many residents don't like it. This is important because there aren't many joys in life at this stage, and this is an easy problem to solve. Also, the toilets in the rooms have problems, which is a serious issue affecting the quality of life.

"Welcoming Environment with Good Food and Friendly Staff"

This place is really clean, and the food's pretty tasty. They give you options too. The people who work here are friendly, but it seems like a lot of them leave pretty quickly (maybe because of the big bosses?). But whenever someone new comes in, they're usually just as nice as the last person. I think this place is worth checking out.

"Good care and value"

This community is larger than what we wanted, and we preferred a smaller one without multiple levels. However, they do offer activities, and the staff is friendly and caring. The meals are appealing, and other residents seem happy. We recommend this community to families seeking good care.

"Caring Staff and Varied Activities Make Savannah Court Great!"

The folks at Savannah Court are really nice. They're great at looking after the residents. Mom enjoys the food, and there are lots of options even though it's a small place. The memory care area could be cleaner, especially the carpet. But there's plenty of activities to keep everyone busy. I'd say this place is worth checking out!

"A Great Place for Care"

This is a great community. Everyone is kind and helpful. My sister is doing well here and has adjusted nicely. I’m happy with everything they have done for us. I know she is safe and in good hands. They are giving her great care. I would highly recommend this community; it has worked out well for us.

"Needing Updates, But Great Staff!"

Savannah Court of Palm Beaches is okay, but it's a bit old. It feels like you're in bedrooms in someone's house. The wallpaper is really dark, and the doors are a super dark brown too. It could do with some modernizing and a fresh coat of paint. The staff, however, were excellent and answered all my questions.

"Comfortable, clean, and friendly community food could improve."

I didn't think moving into a community was right for me now, but living at Savannah Court turned out to be a smart choice. The food isn't the best, but Chef Jacque is open to making changes, and it's already getting better. The place is really clean, and they even use tablecloths and cloth napkins. The staff is super nice and always ready to help us residents. I was able to bring my stuff and my cat, which made it feel more like home. I haven't joined any activities yet because I usually keep to myself, but I've made a few friends. Even though I'm younger than most here, I feel welcomed and comfy. I'd totally recommend this place!

"Thriving in a Wonderful Community!"

We recently moved my husband to this assisted living home. I was really worried that he would be upset! We used A Place for Mom to help us sort through the many options. We looked at about ten places, narrowed them down to four, and I took my husband to visit those. He was negative and resistant until we walked into Savannah Court! The staff were naturally warm and friendly, and he relaxed right away. They showed us around the charming and lovely residence and took us to see the "model" room. He sat on the bed and asked if he could have "that room." They only hesitated for a minute before saying, "Sure!" So, we moved him in for a 10-day trial, and he loved it. He’s been there almost a month now and has nothing but good things to say. He has frontal temporal lobe dementia but is still quite functional. He needs help with his medications, meals, and reminders. He is not in the memory care wing yet, but he could transition there as he needs more support. I am so grateful for how they worked with me, and I'm thrilled to see him thriving in his new community. Before the move, he wasn’t showering, shaving, or brushing his teeth and would only eat candy and sweets. He was often confused at home, but now he even walks to the mailbox and around the block in his underwear, saying it’s the same as his bathing suit! Now, he gets showered and dressed every day, eats three meals a day, and joins in on activities. I only wish I had done this two years ago; it would have saved me a lot of money (I was paying a caregiver while I worked), and he would have been much happier! Many families wait too long and wear themselves out trying to do a job they aren’t trained for. It takes real professionals to manage this disease, and everyone here is wonderful! Even the maintenance man lets my husband 'supervise' him. He’s going to teach a paper-making class for the residents, and my husband is fully engaged in his new home. It’s a wonderful community, and I’m deeply grateful. It’s a huge relief to know he’s happy, which makes me smile too.

"Facility Needs More Activities, Nurses More Attentive"

The folks living here could use more fun activities. There's too much sitting around and TV. The nurses should be around looking after the people more instead of just hanging out in their office talking.

"Review: Savannah Court's Lack of Independent Living Options"

This place is also for memory care and skilled nursing. We are actually looking for independent living facilities.

"More Training Needed"

The staff here is great, but they need better training for visually impaired residents.

"Mom Thriving in Assisted Living!"

My mom just moved in a few days ago. She fell and had to go to the hospital, but the assisted living facility (ALF) handled everything well, even though the hospital didn't have her paperwork. Mom likes it there; she's making friends, enjoying the food, and has even put on some weight. She's joking about watching her figure now! I visit often, and the staff is always nice and helpful. I hope things stay this way.

"Savannah Courts: Disregard for Mom and No Refunds"

Beware with the "selling squad" at the beginning! They're just there to make a quick sale. My mother-in-law was put through a short "check-in" with a nurse (just 10 minutes!) and was told she'd be perfect for the assisted living side. My wife expressed a bunch of worries about her mom possibly wanting to escape but they assured us they'd have someone watching her. Alas, on day one she tried to leave many times and they placed her with the memory care patients, where she spent her whole day sitting on the sofa watching TV with folks in the end stages of Alzheimer's. By evening, she was scared and her stress level was off the charts. The head nurse told me the only way she could stay in assisted living was if I hired a full-time aide, otherwise she needed to be in memory care. I really wish this nurse had been there during the check-in. I told them there was no way I could leave her there and announced that I'd be taking her home. After just a day and a half at Savannah Courts, they wouldn't give any of our money back, or even give us a partial refund, despite their upper boss saying she didn't think they handled the situation well. They asked for a 30 day notice and a letter if we wanted to leave. My wife and I thought their behavior was totally unprofessional and we feel like we were duped the whole time. AVOID Savannah Courts.

"Everything is just fine!"

My mom hasn't been at Savannah Court of the Palm Beaches for very long, so I can't say much yet. We haven't had any problems so far. The price is reasonable. Everything else has been just fine.

"Highly Recommendable Assisted Living Experience"

Our time at Savannah Court of the Palm Beaches has been awesome. They treat my mom very kindly, and she's super happy there. We've suggested a few small changes, and they're working with us on them. Despite that, they've been really nice. We pay extra for the extra care my mom gets, and while they do a great job, I'm not always sure those extras are consistent. Still, overall, they're really amazing, and I'd suggest them to others.

My mom has been at Savannah Courts for about a month, and the care she's getting is great. She’s settling in nicely and has made a lot of friends. The nurses and staff are all making her feel welcome and important.

"Amazing place for my parents!"

After my visit to Savannah Court of the Palm Beaches, I knew I didn’t need to check out any other places. It was really nice, and we loved it there! If my parents decide to move to Florida and want to join a community, this is definitely where they will go.

"Nice People, But Sad Environment"

We visited this place when we were trying to find a good spot for a family member. The people here were all really lovely, and the staff were really kind and there to help. But, the environment wasn’t really cheerful, it felt dull and sad.

"Lacking Proper Care at Savannah Court"

Savannah Court is not suitable for folks who need help. They don't look after your loved ones. Your aging parent could be lying on their room floor for more than an hour before someone discovers them. The place is only decent if you can manage on your own, and don't need any help except for getting your medications. I was let down. I don't think it's a good facility.

"Issues, but Still Liked"

The staff was really nice, and the place was beautiful. But they couldn’t meet my mom’s needs. The activities didn’t challenge her mind enough. Even though she’s almost 98, she felt they spent too much time on childish games (she doesn’t play games or watch TV). The recreation person is new and hasn’t improved the program yet. I had to step in to make sure she got help with bathing, but it wasn’t consistent. They never scheduled the psychologist visit we asked for. As a senior who doesn’t eat meat or poultry, food options were limited to salads and eggs. She has a falling problem, and the staff was great when she fell. The room lock kept breaking. Despite the issues, I still like this facility.

"Friendly Staff, But Frustrating Facilities"

There's almost no place to park your car. The meals they serve are just okay, nothing special. Their laundry service is decent, not great, but not terrible. The best part about this place is that the employees are very kind and nice.

The place really bums me out and doesn't look too clean.

"Dementia Care Lacking at Assisted Living Facility!"

My mom lived at this place for a year. I wish I knew then what I know now. If your relative has dementia and stays in the "assisted living" part of this place, don't count on getting much help. They hardly ever bathed her, and they left her in the same clothes for several days without washing them. The staff here doesn't know how to deal with or take care of people with dementia. Do yourself a big favor and look for a smaller place. You can find really good ones that take care of 10-14 people, where your relative will actually get the CARE they need!!!!

"Great place with helpful staff!"

I have positive things to say! The staff is very nice and treats my friend well. They have been really helpful throughout the process. Beverly Koltov, the admissions director, has been amazing. The nurses and staff work well together. The whole place has a great atmosphere. I have nothing bad to say!

"Nice Facility with Great Staff and Food"

The facility is nice with great rooms and outdoor space. The staff has been there for a long time, and they serve real food. I met a daughter who's very happy with her father's care there.

"20-resident Memory Care Unit in Larger Assisted Living Community"

This memory care community, with 20 residents, is a part of a larger assisted living community. They arrange for outings once a week and accept Medicaid diversion if needed, but only for semi-private rooms. The nursing staff is present around-the-clock, and doctors visit the community. They also provide transportation within 10 miles for medical appointments; however, for anything farther away you would need to arrange for private aid. They have a rehab team and the rooms come without furnishings or a refrigerator.
