"Affordable but unsettling memory care facility: Ambiance at Maitland"
We visited Ambiance at Maitland while looking for a place where my dad could safely live with his memory issues. From what we saw during our walk around, the place was sort of creepy. But, it did fall on the cheaper side compared to other places we checked out.

"Assisted Living Facility Under Construction, Not Ready for Residents Yet"
The Maitland place needs more time before it's ready. They're doing a big remodel, but it's not close to done. It might take another 9 months to a year. After that, it could be great. But right now, I wouldn't suggest it.

"Savannah Grand Retirement Tour was Gloomy and Disappointing"
Our family visited Savannah Grand retirement community in person. Sadly, there was nothing grand about it. It was murky, grim and gloomy, I wouldn't even send my biggest enemy there.

"Improved Management Brings Positive Changes to Savannah Grand Assisted Living"
We picked Savannah Grand because it's cozy and easy to navigate. The rooms are a good size, all private. COVID rules made things tough at first, but now they're loosening up, though sometimes they seem too relaxed. There's new management now, and it's way better. They've added lots more activities. The director is around a lot, which is good. I'd tell others to check it out.

"Assisted Living Review: Clean, Affordable, and Welcoming with Ample Activities"
Savannah Grand was always clean, with many activities for residents. Prices were fair for what they offered. We were impressed by the affordability and the initial tour. The lobby and entryway were nicely decorated. The marketing staff was friendly and helpful, answering all our questions.

"Hit or Miss: Assisted Living Experience"
The workers were mostly good, but some were really bad. We got wrong info from the front desk and they acted uncool. We felt like something shady was going on. The big boss was super rude. The helpers in the memory care place were alright. But the others didn’t seem as ready to help Dad. A few of them did a good job and seemed to care about Dad. But it seemed like the bosses didn’t treat them well, so they left. They did a good job keeping the place clean. At holidays, they made it look nice and had fun stuff to do. But at one event, the boss and front desk person didn’t talk to anyone. They just grabbed food and left.

"Transportation and Emergency Care Need Improvement"
The transportation to the doctor and back has been problematic. We often have to manage it ourselves because they are always busy. Once, there was an urgent situation, and the doctor needed to see him immediately, but they couldn't accommodate without prior notice. It's confusing because emergencies don't come with warnings. There's definitely room for improvement. It seems like the staff there have too much on their plate.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Activities During COVID-19"
My dad just stayed there for a week before COVID hit. I wasn't impressed. Nobody was doing activities, just sitting in front of the TV.

"BEWARE: Management Not Trustworthy and Facility in Poor Condition"
We visited this place and were told about future makeover plans. Both buildings were seriously run down. The company bought the buildings in November 2017 but hasn't fixed anything yet. The AC wasn't working, and part of the building was hanging loose which could attract rats or squirrels. There were only two caretakers for 30 residents needing memory care. The building didn't meet safety regulations. Just one person was looking after the maintenance of both buildings. A staff member from sales insisted on taking a deposit to hold a room, promising not to cash it until the start of the month. But they banked it straight away. The Operations Director told us we had to give 30 days' notice to leave even though we never moved in. Please don't believe anything the salespeople or other staff tell you.

"Shocking Neglect: Assisted Living Center Fails at Basic Healthcare"
This place cares more about money than its residents! As soon as we moved my Mom into this facility, it seemed like they couldn't care less about her welfare. A new administrator took over and everything went downhill. Honestly, the only thing they seem to care about is making a quick buck. The administration couldn't care less about what happens to the old folks. They've cut down on activities, the food's barely edible, and the med techs are stretched too thin to even dispense medicine correctly. My Mom was once given ear drops to put in her EYES! Anytime we raised questions about her meds, they just claimed they didn't have time to go over it. Worse still, we realized she was receiving double her prescribed dose. It's unbelievable! But when asked about the number of licensed personnel they had, we got vague responses. We think it's because they don't have the required number! Don't move your loved ones here! They'd rather spend money on fancy chandeliers and new furniture than on caring for the residents properly. All the good staff have quit in frustration. Happy staff leads to good care which leads to happy and cared-for residents. But this place has none of that! Please avoid this place and DON'T PUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER IN HERE!

I've been living here for over a year and couldn't have picked a better place to call home. Kevin, our administrator, is amazing and always makes time for us residents. The activities are top-notch. I just love it here, and you will too!
