Superior Residences of Panama City Beach

"Misleading recommendation, poor amenities, and disappointing atmosphere at Superior."
I talked to someone who didn't explain assisted living versus independent living. I said my situation, and she suggested Superior. I stayed there for only three months. I was paying for services I didn't use. The food and the Chef were awful. I didn't like the activities director at all. He told dirty jokes in the dining room, which insulted me. I was really unhappy there. The apartment I was in had no ceiling fans or fresh air. The windows didn't open, and I had no balcony. There was no outdoor space, and people blocked the entrance with walkers and wheelchairs, making it hard to get through. It even made cars stop to let them move. You can see why I was unhappy there. Moving again was hard and costly. I don't know why the person I talked to sent me to Superior. The first thing any representative should do is listen and recommend the right category to callers. Also, I told her my age, and the residents were much older and more limited than I was. No opportunity to make friends.

"Lackluster Care and High Prices at Assisted Living Facility"
This place costs too much for what they're not doing right. Our family member isn't getting the care we thought they would.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
The food and how it looks aren't good. Meals aren't appealing. This place isn't for independent living. It's only for those needing extra help and memory care. The kitchens are tiny with a fridge that works half the time.

"Poor Night Care and Lost Hearing Aids at Facility"
My family member stayed there for three weeks. There were several nights when I would get calls because they had fallen. It seemed like the night staff didn't pay attention once the residents were put to bed. During the daytime, the workers would position the residents in recliners where they could see everyone better. Unfortunately, the office staff misplaced my family member’s hearing aides and their batteries on the very first day of their stay.

"Great Staff, Okay Meals, and Limited Activities"
The staff members and care services are definitely a five out of five. However, our loved one does complain about the meals they serve, and because of the COVID restrictions, the activities are still pretty minimal. We think the value is okay—not the best, but not the worst.
