"Mixed experience, still recommend."
My family member lives at The Atrium in Boca Raton. Some staff could be friendlier, but overall, I'd recommend it.

"Clean facility, good food, needs outside help for medical care."
The Atrium at Boca Raton is a pretty good place. It's not a skilled nursing facility, which is important. My father-in-law had a catheter, and they couldn't do much for him, but we could get outside help. The place is clean, and the food is good. My father-in-law doesn't complain. The atmosphere is nice and there's no bad smell, which is important. There are people of all ages, a beauty salon, and different activities. They have a bus for shopping, doctor visits, and more. We did most of the move-in ourselves. It might have been easier with help. The room was empty, and we had to bring everything, even the bed. There's a kitchenette and a closet in the bathroom, but no tables, chairs, TV, or anything. Residents provide everything.

"Boca Raton's Atrium Disappoints with Poor Cleanliness"
I didn't like The Atrium at Boca Raton one bit. The place and the rooms were really dirty. I used the bathroom on the first floor and it was so disgusting, I couldn't wait to leave.

"Unremarkable Assisted Living Community"
This place seemed like an average community. Nothing stood out to me or my loved one when we visited.

"Decent Assisted Living Facility with Variety of Activities for Residents"
This place is pretty good, and it's close to our family. I really like the people who run the memory care and the executive stuff. They have music, dancing, painting, and other stuff for the residents to do. The activities are nice. It's a good place to stay.

"Chose Another Place, Tour Was Good But Not for Us"
The tour was okay, but we decided not to choose this community in the end. The place we picked for our loved one just suited our needs better. Overall, it was a nice tour.

"Headline: "Appalling Experiences at Assisted Living Prompts Cautionary Review""
Having my mother live at this place was a major letdown. Her stay, which lasted 5 years, only became harder over time. We had our mom receiving around-the-clock private care since she refused to eat the food they provided at the facility. As a result, we had to bring food from home or buy meals from outside. My mom’s room was in a terrible condition, too. There were missing light bulbs, floor moldings were broken, even the toilet wasn't fixed to the floor, making it unsafe for her. I asked for these things to get fixed for a whole year, but they simply didn’t bother. When a new Executive Director was appointed, she said she'd hire new staff and address matters right away. That promise was also broken. The whole place was pretty much beat up. The carpets were dirty and the halls had a horrible stench. Elevators were constantly breaking down, adding to the misery. Not to mention, the facility didn't provide any sort of help when our private care staff needed assistance getting my mom into or out of bed. The unfriendly staff made the experience even worse. To make matters worse, they decided to cancel the daily 4pm live entertainment to presumably save some cash. The last straw came when I asked about their cancellation policy. They told me they required a 30-day written notice, but quickly assumed I was giving them notice then and there. That was far from the truth, and I had to let them know about their assumptions, which I wasn’t pleased with at all. Eventually, we moved my mom out into an apartment around August 1, 2018. She still has her private care and she, along with her care givers, are much happier. Plus, we're able to save a lot more money this way, not having to pay the crazily high fees at the facility. I don’t typically write a post like this, but the poor quality of care at the Atrium at Boca Raton left me feeling I had to give a warning. Please be cautious when considering this facility for your loved ones.

"Mixed Impressions: Assisted Living Tour Reveals Care Concerns"
We visited this place while checking out care choices for a family member. At first, we thought it was really nice. But when we returned unexpectedly to show it to my husband, my feelings changed. I noticed some care problems being dealt with in a way that wouldn't sit right with me if it were my family member.

"Sad and Uncaring Staff in Memory Unit"
As for the regular floors, I didn't have any issues. The staff was always friendly and pleasant. However, when my family member moved to the 2nd floor Memory unit, things took a turn. The staff there seemed mean and uncaring, especially during the night shift. I understand it's a tough job, but if they can't handle patients with memory loss, they shouldn't be working on that floor. On a positive note, the activities director on the 2nd floor is very nice and tries to keep the residents engaged. Overall, it's a sad and depressing floor. I hope things improve soon for the sake of the residents.
