The Beacon at Gulf Breeze

"Unsatisfactory Care at Assisted Living Facility; Not Recommended"
My mom stayed at this facility for two months, and to put it simply, she did not like it one bit. Neither did I. It was disheartening to see elderly individuals in wheelchairs ignored, their dignity forgotten as they sat unattended and urinated. It hurt to watch a lady wander the hallway in despair, her clothes messed up, openly weeping with no one taking heed. Meal times were no better. The dish servers literally tossed the plates onto the tables, showing a complete lack of respect for the residents there. In the end, we made the decision to take mom out of that place. She lived out her final days with the family, where she was truly happy. Considering the amount we had to pay for Beacon, the kind of care they provided was nowhere near acceptable. It makes me shudder to think about what mom may have endured when I wasn't present. I must say, I don't recommend this place at all.

"Efficient and Supportive Assisted Living Facility"
At The Beacon at Gulf Breeze, everyone I interacted with was really helpful. Moving in and out went smoothly, and the staff made sure it fit my schedule. Talking to them was easy, and they always answered my questions quickly. During my husband's stay, I met one housekeeper who seemed very thorough. She explained she cleaned once a week, which made me wonder if she was the only one cleaning the Memory Care unit. The hallways and common areas needed more daily attention. Overall, The Beacon at Gulf Breeze is a nice place that I would recommend to others.

"Proximity and good services; great facility but watch service."
I recommend this facility due to its proximity and good services. It's a great assisted living facility, but service awareness is important.

"Sad Dining Experience"
They need more staff. There aren't enough people to take care of all the residents. The dining area needs a good cleaning, and the tables wobble. It's too dark in there, and it lacks any kind of cozy feeling. The food is really bad and sometimes looks weird. I've seen staff just plop the food down in front of residents, like they're feeding animals, not people. It's sad.

"Expensive Care, Hard-to-reach Staff at Assisted Living Facility"
The workers here make an effort to talk to families, but it's often hard to reach them because their voicemail is always full. They rarely call back. The food is just okay, not horrible at all. They do offer lots of different activities. However, the cost of taking care of someone keeps going up for every little thing they need. I'd recommend looking into different places for your family member before deciding on this one. Plus, they seem to replace their higher-up workers a lot.

"Very pleased with The Beacon at Gulf Breeze"
I've been very happy with our experience at The Beacon at Gulf Breeze. It's a place I would recommend to others. The staff are very helpful, accommodating, and informative. The companies they use for physical therapy and home health have been great to work with. It's expensive since the price is al a carte, but it's a huge improvement from the last place we were at. This is a great facility.

"Not Recommended for Memory Care: Limited Activities, Poor Care"
I think you should look for a different place. The care here isn't good, and there aren't enough staff. That's why I recommend another community for your loved one. Also, they don't have any activities for memory care residents—just TV.

"Top-Quality Assisted Living Facility with Compassionate Staff"
The Beacon is really clean, super organized, and has good stuff. The people who work there seem nice and patient with the people living there. They have simple but good equipment to help with getting better. If [name removed] could do more on their own and be more involved, I'd really think about choosing this place for long-term care.

"Amazing Facility with Great Amenities and Friendly Staff"
was awesome and answered all our questions. The place is super clean, and we talked to some residents and staff. I loved the Movie Theater and the fancy dining room with a grand piano for entertainment. I wish I had found a place like this when my mom was alive. Highly recommend!

"Help when we needed it!"
We had a hard time convincing our parents to move into a care facility, but when it became necessary, The Beacon gave us all the support we needed. They have been amazing and so patient with all the small requests we made, which made the whole process easier for us. The place is beautiful, the food is fantastic, and the staff, from top to bottom, is friendly and attentive. It feels like walking into a fancy hotel, except the guests are older (but still active). The place used to be called The Blake, but now it’s The Beacon at Gulf Breeze.

"Lovely community tour, helpful staff, not right for mom."
I toured this place for my loved one recently. Everything went well for us. The staff were punctual and answered all our questions thoroughly. They gave us honest advice about what my mother needed and guided us appropriately. The property looked beautiful and was well taken care of. It wasn't the right choice for my mother now, but I'd suggest it to others.

"Fantastic care, great activities, and clean environment for Mom"
The staff here are amazing. Mom loves the food, and they offer a healthy diet. She’s in the memory care unit, where they have trips and daily activities. The community is secure but still allows residents to enjoy the outdoors. It passed an inspection before we moved in and is spotless. Plus, it’s all-inclusive, so we pay the same price no matter what care she needs. I would definitely recommend this place.

"The Beacon offers excellent respite care and activities"
My dad stayed at the Beacon for a week in May 2016 while we were out of town. Tiffany gave us a tour of the place, and we could join any events or meals we wanted before his stay. My dad loved it and wants to go back. I highly recommend the Beacon for respite care.

"The Blake Shows Negligent and Unmerciful Treatment of Elderly"
From the second we stepped in with our mom, we instantly felt a gut-punch of regret! We risked it and tried out this place, but as the calendar pages fell, we saw heaps of residents being ignored and uncared for. Mom had a stroke, and they didn't even bother to alert us until days after the fact. We'll always be haunted by our bad call to put her in the Blake. The staff were cold-hearted, acting as if her care was a non-issue. It's a good thing we had a hospice team ready to go.

"Highly Recommend!"
The Blake at Gulf Breeze is where my grandma lived for over a year in the memory care side. The staff was so kind and caring to all the residents when I visited her often. The nurses were smart and knew exactly what to do to help the other residents with their daily needs. The building looked like a 5-star hotel and was just as beautiful inside. My grandma always talked about how good the food was and how the staff took care of her every need. I would highly recommend The Blake at Gulf Breeze for anyone looking for a place for their loved ones to retire.

"The Blake: A Home Away From Home"
My mother-in-law lived at The Blake at Gulf Breeze. She absolutely loved it! The staff were super nice, caring, and really good at their jobs. As a nurse, I talked a lot with the wellness team and always felt they truly cared about the residents and their families. She enjoyed eating meals with her friends in the dining room and joined in the activities regularly. Our family often had meals there too, making great memories that still make me and my wife happy. I've checked out every assisted living place around, and The Blake was the best in every way.

"Lovely Place, But Didn't Qualify for Care"
The place looks lovely, but I don’t know about the care or food. They only mentioned that he didn’t qualify. It’s a very nice facility, but it’s strictly for assisted living and can’t handle combative behavior.

"Friendly Staff and Cozy Environment"
My dad used to live here. His room was pretty small, so we had to buy him a refrigerator and microwave. He liked The Blake and thought it was nice, but he didn't join in many activities. The people there were nice.
