"Unfavorable Brennity Senior Living Experience"

My family member lived at The Brennity at Melbourne Senior Living once, but we didn't like it much. From what we went through, I can't suggest this place to others.

""Brennity Excels in Senior Living""

Our experience here has been great! However, we might explore a similar facility in Nashville to be closer to family. The staff and facility quality vary from good to excellent. While our monthly costs are slightly higher, we believe Brennity is superior.

"Welcoming and Compassionate Assisted Living"

The community is friendly, caring, and attentive. I recommend it.

"Facility Tour Experience: Friendly Staff, No Residents Seen, Nursing Home Feel"

During our tour, the staff were friendly and gave us lots of helpful information. We didn't get to meet any of the people who live there. The place seemed more like a nursing home than anything else.

"Mixed Experience During Assisted Living Tour"

Our family visited the assisted living facility in person during late morning. Most residents were in their rooms, and there wasn't much activity. Initially, we were scheduled to see the more independent living area, but we realized our loved one needed more assistance. When we asked to see the assisted living side, the staff seemed disinterested and suggested emailing questions.

"Close Second Choice"

Our family visited in person, almost chose this place. Loved everything, but the location was too far. .

"Friendly Staff, Nice Place, But Different Vibe Elsewhere"

We visited The Brennity at Melbourne, and it seemed like a really nice place. The staff were friendly, showing us around and answering our questions. However, we ultimately chose another facility due to a different vibe from the people there.

"Clean, Safe, Peaceful Assisted Living with Caring Staff"

We really like The Brennity because it's very clean and peaceful. They have rules that they follow, especially for COVID and outbreaks. They are very organized and we feel our loved one is very safe there. It's also a beautiful community and we would recommend it to other families.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living at The Brennity"

We visited The Brennity at Melbourne Senior Living, and it was a nice community. The people were friendly, and everything seemed lovely. However, when transitioning from independent to assisted living, you end up in a single room, which felt like moving into a hospital. Our top choices allowed residents to stay in regular apartments with assistance throughout the day, which we preferred over the single-room setup. Overall, I didn’t like the idea.

"Once A Dream Home, Now A Nightmare: Brennity's shift downhill"

My wife and I moved to The Brennity in Melbourne, Florida in May 2018. It was great at first - everyone was kind, the staff was helpful, and the food was really good. But then, around the end of November or the start of December, things got really bad. The people who run the place made changes that made our life hard. We couldn't get a ride to go shopping for three weeks, even during Christmas time, and only got free car rides to doctors on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They started to charge a lot for other trips. The food also got worse and people started leaving. Not long after, some workers from the main office came and held a meeting with us, the residents that were worried about what was happening. Then, we noticed that all of the local managers were gone and the main office workers were left in charge.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living: Convenience with Location Concerns"

Our family visited in person and found it okay. We liked having a washer and dryer in the unit, which made laundry easy. However, the location is busy, and our loved one, who still drives, didn't like that.

"Poor Staffing and Care at Assisted Living Facility"

This place just doesn't have enough workers. It seems like there's always not enough food, and they don't even give out medication the right way. A bunch of the people living there have fallen over many times and needed to go to the hospital for stitches. When my husband had to go to the hospital, no one even bothered to let me know.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Spacious Apartments"

We picked The Brennity because it has a big independent living area. The apartments are a good size, and the residents are super friendly. Lately, they’ve been a bit short-staffed. Still, I’d recommend it to others.

"Great Place for Loved Ones"

We picked this place because it felt like a fancy hotel, not like a hospital. You can rent small homes or apartments, and they have assisted living and memory care. The residents can explore indoors freely. Nothing is locked down, so you're independent. They offer basketball, bocce, lakes, and a pool. Even though the nursing staff had communication issues, they took great care of our loved one. Overall, a positive experience.

"Good Value and Effort at The Brennity"

They’re trying hard to bring back activities, but there aren’t many yet. We think the cost is fair and would recommend The Brennity to others.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short: Safety Concerns and Management Woes"

When we first moved in, this place looked like a fancy old southern house. But now it feels like a dentist's office. The floors are super slippery, especially when it's rainy. They've changed managers 12 times in 12 years! The big bosses are in Texas. They built a new fun area, but it's not so fun for folks over 80. Who wants to move giant chess pieces under the hot Florida sun with no shade? They don't have medical help right away, even though they say they do. And forget about getting basic stuff like milk easily. They keep hiking up the rent every year, at least 3%. But the people who work here are really nice and doing their best! The apartments are pretty big, and you get your own washer and dryer. Just make sure they swap out the rugs before you move in.

"Wonderful, safe place with caring staff! Highly recommend!"

This is a great place that feels very safe. The administrator, sales team, and nurses and aides are all super helpful and kind. I would definitely recommend it!

"Aunt's Complaints About Costly and Unsatisfactory Care"

My aunt constantly mentions poor treatment. We're unsure of other options but regret choosing this one. Considering the cost, the service is inadequate.

"Brennity: A Deceptively Harsh Environment for Residents"

The Brennity appears to emotionally harsh on its residents, starting right from the top management. Residents often conceal their genuine feelings about the Brennity out of fear. I'm viewing this scenario as an outsider who is friends with a resident. I feel intensely upset about the poor food quality, which seems to be served to them without care, and the residents accept it without choice, similar to dogs. I regret I must be so forthright, but people really need to look past the attractive facade. I'm choosing not to disclose my name to protect my friend from any repercussions. The way the management is treating these vulnerable, elderly grandmothers and grandfathers breaks my heart. The Brennity appears to take advantage of the residents' inability to go elsewhere once they move in, allowing them to treat the residents poorly with no consequence.

""Residents Disappointed with Overpriced Life at Assisted Living Facility""

Many folks are not pleased about having to relocate here. They were convinced this was a top-notch place for the money they were spending. But honestly, this place doesn’t even measure up to being just okay, yet the charge is equal to a 5 star hotel. Take note, the glowing reviews are usually from people who've never spent time living here. Mainly, the ones who have actually stayed here end up writing poor reviews, just like I'm doing.

"Expectations Not Met at Assisted Living Facility"

My family member is pleading with me to remove her. She initially moved in, lured by promises about great meals and perks. What a sham. Now, I'm left struggling to secure a better place for her. She just wants folks to know that appearances can be deceiving.

"Great Location, but Lacks Warmth and Community"

While the place is in a perfect spot, it didn't seem to be the best choice for our mom. When we stopped by, most folks seemed to be out on a trip, which left the place feeling deserted. It looked clean, but didn't give off a friendly vibe, since we hardly saw anyone, including staff and residents. It's just not the right match for her.

"Stay Away, Don't Fall for Their Sales Pitch!"

We're packing our bags. Being here is downright disheartening. As a resident, you feel like you don't matter. The constant message is that your comfort and health are an inconvenience to them. The food? Picture eating at a poor quality diner. It's a touch better than what they serve in a school cafeteria. Just to give you an idea, a friend of mine once ordered fried food here and it arrived burnt because they didn't bother to change the oil. Often, meals are cold and the service is glacially slow. Should you voice a complaint, they treat you as if you're a nuisance. The maintenance staff has a knack for insisting nothing's wrong with things that are clearly broken... until they finally give out. Our fridge flooded three times, and yet they kept promising us a replacement was ordered. After two weeks of our fridge still flooding and them assuring us a new one was on the way, they finally admitted it wasn't. It had to totally die and cause us to lose our groceries twice before they jumped into action. It's one of a lengthy list of frustrations we've had with maintenance here. Don't bother with management either. They couldn't seem less bothered. Meanwhile, our rent increases by hundreds of dollars each year. We're nearing a rent of $7000 a month for two people. For that price, you'd expect the experience to be more like a luxury hotel, not a budget motel. Ignore their flowery sales pitches. We fell for it, thinking we wouldn't have to move again, but now we're being forced to relocate. The only bright spot here is the housekeeping staff! We absolutely adore them.

"Friendly staff and beautiful community, but too large for us"

The Brennity at Melbourne Senior Living community was very beautiful. The staff was very friendly and gave a nice tour. They told us a lot about the property. This community felt more like a condo, but we wanted something smaller and more homey for my dad.

"Better Communication and Milder Food Preferred"

Here's the revised review in 8th-grade level American English: "My dad lives here. The aides could talk more, but they care about him. They have activities, but he doesn't join. The food needs less spice. Overall, no other complaints about The Brennity.

"Grateful for Wonderful Care at Assisted Living Facility"

Theme thank you so much for giving me peace of mind knowing my mom is taken care of every day. It's hard being far away from her, but I truly appreciate everything you do. Thanks again!

My parents have been living at The Brennity Assisted Living (AL) for almost a year. It's not their first AL facility—they've been in others before. What I've noticed from my experiences with different facilities (even in two different states) is that they all face challenges, mostly due to state and federal laws beyond their control. But The Brennity really tries to make things as good as possible for its residents. Now, there's this resident in the dining room who some people call "unruly." I happen to know him, and his behavior is a result of a stroke. Strokes can affect people in various ways, and this resident's noises are involuntary. Most of the time, he's quiet, reading or eating. It's unfair to judge the whole AL facility based on harmless behaviors like his. Other residents have their own issues too—they've seen better days. Families usually understand this and don't expect them to act like they did when they were younger. Compassion, tolerance, and acceptance matter in AL facilities. We never know when we might need extra patience ourselves. It's a fine balance between caring for those who need more patience and keeping everyone satisfied. Overall, I appreciate The Brennity and its staff—they do their best to make life comfortable for all residents, despite the challenges.

"Decline in Quality at Assisted Living Facility: Searching for Alternatives."

Thought this place was top-notch, but lately, the level of care and multiple other problems have only increased. The management just gives empty promises that aren't fulfilled-- it's all talk and no real improvement. There are unpleasant smells in the residents' areas. Beds aren't made, garbage isn't thrown out, and the food isn't great. Plus, there's a loud and disruptive resident in the dining area who spoils meal times every day. Money's spent for care that isn't given, and there seem to be fewer staff members now. It's time to consider other options.

"Quite Mad With Unfulfilled Promises and Subpar Care at Brennity"

Loads of praises were heaped on The Brennity at Melbourne. My aunt was a resident there and had a great time. But things changed swiftly once we put our mom there. The whole management seemed different. The familiar faces were gone. My mom's care wasn't good there, quite disappointing. We're planning to move her soon. They broke promises they made. They're billing us top-dollar for my mom's care without actually meeting her needs adequately. They're making us pay for services they didn't even provide. I am really mad with the care and service that my mom and our family had to put up with. I would definitely not recommend this place.

"Great Independent Living, Mediocre Assisted Living"

The place was okay. The side where folks live on their own was cool. People seemed happy, rooms were big, and they had lots of staff. But the part where people need some help wasn't as good. I was just wandering around and ended up there when they were showing people around. The person who was showing me didn't know much about it, so they couldn't answer my questions. It's a big place. I wasn't impressed with the rooms there; they were small, and some had to share. I saw someone outside looking not so good in a wheelchair. I thought since they were showing off the place, it would be really nice, but it wasn't. They're going through some changes, with a new owner coming in. The worst part was the smell; I couldn't tell if it was just a one-time thing or if it's always like that, but it stunk all around that area. I don't think it's the right place for my mom.

"I really liked it; wanted my mom here!"

We visited this place while looking at options. I really liked it and wanted my mom to live here. Unfortunately, there were no openings when we needed one. It’s clear it’s a great place since they’re always full.

"Nice place with caring staff!"

We visited this place while searching for care options for a loved one. I liked that they kept the medications in the patients' rooms. The atmosphere was really clean. I felt like the director cared more about finding the right place for my parents than just getting them into her community. The rooms were a bit small, though.

"Mixed feelings about The Brennity at Melbourne's assisted living"

We like The Brennity at Melbourne! It looks nice, clean, and neat. Most staff are friendly and caring. Newer ones are learning. The care is good, but they could listen better to family wishes. Doctors sometimes push for care against family wishes. Activities are good. Food can be hit or miss, despite sales pitch. Overall, it's a new place with improvements ahead.

"Decent Community But Lacks Proper Care for Mom's Needs"

While the community is nice, it doesn't completely fit my mom's needs. She requires aid in remembering to take her medication in the morning. The setup here is more like a nursing home than an independent living facility and the residents are divided between two different buildings. During our visit, there was a light but noticeable scent of urine in the assisted living areas. Offering a variety of room sizes could possibly make this place a good fit for my mom, rather than just small studio apartments.

"Brennity: Declining Care and Services in Assisted Living"

When first checking out Brennity, I was impressed by the facilities and services. Right after moving my parent there, I noted the brilliant care, complete with consistent updates about my parent's health and well-being. However, there has been a noticeable decline in the quality of service over recent months. My parent's health, specifically their blood pressure, has alarmed me. On top of this, there have been instances of neglect, such as my parent being left in a hot room or disregarding our persistent requests for help with exercise. One of the major selling features of the facility, the made-to-order meals, has now turned into a pre-ordering system. This is quite impractical as residents in their situation can't decide that far in advance what they'll fancy on their dinner plates. It's clear that there are some troubling patterns emerging at Brennity. For what we're paying, the quality of care is disappointing. There's been a shuffling of employees and leaders around, and the staff to residents ratio is dwindling. Under these circumstances, I'm seriously considering moving my parent from Brennity to another facility. We deserve better for the price we're paying.

"New Management Ruins Brennity at Melbourne Experience"

When first picked, this facility seemed great. Since then, both the owners and five executive directors have changed in five months. Many of the original nurses are gone and now come from a temp agency. The care isn't as good anymore. Things got so bad that my family member and I left to find a better place. A Place For Mom shouldn't recommend the Brennity at Melbourne any longer.
