The Court at Palm Aire

"Poor Service and Rising Costs at Court of Palm Aire"
I've got to start by saying they've hiked rents massively for independent living. Not to mention, the prices have been going up every year since my relative moved in, but this time it's been the worst. I think they know too well that many folks can't just up and move at this stage in their life. My family member has been enduring their stay here for 5 years, and all the while, the quality of services continues to decline. The food has been on a steady downhill slide. To make matters worse, there isn't even a chef on staff and the server confessed that all the meals are pre-made and simply reheated. It's become a regular thing to see residents sending their food back. Moreover, the residents are constantly treated with little respect. The transportation provided is barely adequate. Where there used to be two drivers, they now have just one. It's truly heartbreaking not being able to provide significant help and having to hear how unhappy most residents are. Seriously reconsider if you're thinking of bringing your loved one to the Court of Palm Aire.

"Mixed Feelings About The Court at Palm Aire"
We visited The Court at Palm Aire while looking for a place for our loved one. The facility seemed a bit sad, but the staff were really nice. My friend has a relative living here, and I've heard the food isn't great.

"Decline in Service and Quality at Assisted Living Facility"
For seven years, my mom and dad lived in this assisted living facility. Initially, they were in independent living, but later moved to assisted living. In the beginning, they had good service and the food was decent. However, the quality of both has taken a nose-dive recently. While the staff in assisted living seem friendly enough, they're extremely slow to react. Furthermore, the food quality has seriously deteriorated. This claim about the food is backed by a recent survey conducted by 5 Star. It was after my father died that we hit our limit and decided to move my mother out because she wasn't receiving the help she needed when she called for it. To add insult to injury, when Covid struck, the service fell even further. They halted all activities but have yet to offer any refunds for these discontinued services or for the bagged lunches and dinners they've been doling out.

"Mixed Staff, Clean Facility; Consider Resident's Interests for Enjoyment"
Consider what the resident enjoys. My loved one isn't into activities. Some staff are very nice, others less so. They handle questions and concerns well. We have 24-hour care in addition to theirs. The facility is kept very clean and is good overall.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Roomy Apartments and Good Meals"
We picked The Court at Palm Aire because the studio apartment was bigger than the others we saw, and it was also less expensive. They serve three meals a day, which is what we wanted. I do think they could offer more activities; sometimes my mom gets bored. Overall, I'd recommend them to others.

"Assisted Living Facility Negligently Endangers Patient's Life"
Avoid entrusting your loved one to this perilous place. I wish I could leave a zero-star rating. My father was here for a single night of rehabilitation following hospitalization. To my horror, he was excessively medicated and subsequently they even denied giving him any drugs. Despite my father being unconscious, the staff blithely neglected to contact 911, claiming paperwork for his hospital transfer was prioritized over his immediate safety. They recommended I make the emergency call myself, so I did. Upon arrival, paramedics confirmed my dad had clearly been drugged. His presence there was intended for rehab, but his physical therapy was impossible due to his drugged state. The room he was housed in was not only overcrowded, but it was also unclean. An air conditioner, crawling with mold, hung on the wall. An overall dissatisfaction amongst the staff was noticeable. My father was medicated way beyond necessity simply because he was seeking his wife when he woke one morning. This is absolutely the worst place imaginable. My father could have died if we hadn't intervened and forced his hospitalization. Please, heed my warning and don't leave your family member here, ever!

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short; Neglect Led to Emergency"
My relative stayed at a 5-star nursing home in South Florida for over 2 weeks. We visited almost every day for 3-4 hours, sometimes more. The therapists were very good. The nurses generally did their job. The rooms were relatively clean. A few staff members went the extra mile occasionally. However, when my family member complained of pain and we raised concerns with the nursing staff and supervisors, little was done. Within a few days, my family member was rushed to the ER in critical condition. If the doctors and nurses had acted responsibly and ethically, it wouldn’t have come to this.

"Shoddy Care and Rude Staff at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is absolutely terrible...my mom only went there for recovery, and she didn't even get a chance to return home. The light used to signal for help is practically ignored. The head nurse at the front desk is super mean, too. The staff can't be trusted, they make up stories to cover for each other, and now that my mom has passed away, all they can say is "Sorry for your loss!

"Limited assistance, disappointing staff; explore alternatives like Willowwood or The Bridges"
Don't choose this place if your loved one needs help. There aren't enough staff, and the nursing supervisor isn't friendly. They'll show you around the whole place when you visit, but they won't mention that the assisted living residents can't easily access certain areas. Even if they need help getting around, they're pretty much stuck upstairs. You can hire someone to take them downstairs for a bit, but the minimum time you can book is way more than you might need. It ends up being an expensive outing. Look into places like Willowwood or The Bridges instead."

"Mixed Feelings About This Assisted Living Facility"
The staff here are really friendly and helpful, and the place looks nice. It's a good spot to live overall. The food in the dining room is tasty, and the service is okay. But, lots of folks lose their valuable stuff here, which is a big problem.

"Assisted Living Needs Improvement"
This place was good when my family member could do everything on their own. But when they needed more help and moved to assisted living, things got worse. We had to keep reminding the staff to do more than just the basics for care and services.
