"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

I've been somewhat disappointed with my experience at the assisted living facility. The place is okay physically, but some staff members let me down. It's my first time living in a community, and it's not meeting my expectations. I shared my concerns with the Sales Director, who was open to my feedback and hoped to improve. Despite being friendly, I haven't connected with any of my peers.

"Assisted Living Review"

This place needs more staff. The boss doesn’t answer messages. The care in Assisted Living is really bad. Once I fell and pushed the emergency button, but nobody came for almost an hour. The outside areas are dirty. But the food is tasty!

"Friendly staff, clean place, thoughtful meals."

I live at The Forum at Deer Creek. Staff is friendly, but communication can be better. The place is clean, and meals are thoughtful.

"Mixed Feelings About Community"

We liked the community, but my family member preferred the residents at another nearby place.

"Not Ideal for Assisted Living"

I visited this place. It looked nice, but it’s better suited for independent living than assisted living—didn’t meet our needs.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Visitor Access and Staffing"

No visitors allowed in dining area, even with masks. Special visit room closed. Staffing shortage evident in dining and entertainment areas. COVID blamed, but likely understaffing. Felt misled; wish I'd done more research. Staff kindness a plus.

"Tour Disappointment: Communication and Space Lacked Expectations"

We visited the assisted living place in person. They showed us various apartment setups, but we felt unsatisfied. The space didn't meet our expectations, and we couldn't see the biggest one, which was what we hoped for. The person who guided us was friendly and did well with the tour, but they didn't communicate promptly or clearly.

"Senior Staff Communication Lacks, Good Amenities, Mixed Food Quality"

This place is okay, but they need to talk more. It's in a good spot and easy to get around. Lots of stuff to do here, and the food is alright, sometimes really good. The people who work here day-to-day are nice.

"Miscommunication and Neglect for Money at Assisted Living Facility"

If you don't care about your parents' wellbeing, send them here! They might be living independently, but they'll need assistance. Weirdly, when your family asks for updates, they give everyone different stories. All they truly seem to care about is getting your cash!

"Inadequate Care and Misdiagnosis at The Forum: A Family's Nightmare"

My 82-year-old brother had a serious brain injury and needed emergency surgery. He was doing okay, so the hospital sent him to The Forum for physical therapy. This was a huge mistake. The doctor didn't even see him, and the nurse made fun of him when he had an accident. Plus, even though there was a case of covid in the place, they didn't give him a shot. A doctor finally checked on him and said he was okay, but this was untrue. After he got sent back to the hospital - which was a lot safer - they found out he has pneumonia. The people at The Forum totally missed this. We're scared we might lose him, just when we thought he was getting better. I already complained to Gov. DeSantes. This is absolutely unacceptable! Stay away.

"Assisted Living: Smiles and Promises, But Beware"

Overall, the facility looks beautiful and offers plenty of activities. However, the sales staff seemed more focused on making sales and meeting financial goals than addressing residents’ needs. When my mom moved in, the administrative staff lacked ownership in resolving major concerns. The apartment had issues, like a broken AC and a shattered glass top stove. The bathroom’s proximity to her bed and the tripping hazard between the tile and flooring were problematic. The moving company they recommended was unprofessional and rude. Despite these challenges, the social aspect is positive, and the staff is friendly. Be cautious and advocate for yourself.

"Subpar Care at Assisted Living Facility Disappoints Family"

Dear Facility Manager, My brother-in-law, a former resident at your facility, had a poor experience there and so has our family. Your staff seemed unresponsive to the very people depending on their care, and we found that deeply upsetting. Once on a Saturday when my housekeeper and I came to visit, we had to step in for a missing staff member. We found a dear elderly lady next door calling for help with no one around. We went to check on her and discovered she was only thirsty but had no way of getting a drink. She told us she didn't bother calling for help since she rarely gets a response. She was merely hoping for the arrival of her private aide due in about an hour. It's disheartening to witness such ignored pleas in a place meant to take care of its residents. The following day, a similar incident took place in the white sofa room. A group of people was calling for help for a friend who needed to use the restroom. Despite their repeated shouts, no staff member came to assist. The room echoed with the cry of "Too late, again!" Improvements in your service need to come quickly and they need to last.

"Long Hours in Filth: An Unfortunate Care Facility Experience"

If you'd like your relative to sit in their own filth for hours on end, not just once but multiple occasions, this is the facility for you.

"Unwelcoming Assisted Living Facility with Good Food Review"

This place isn't very cozy or welcoming. Sure, Stacy is friendly, but overall, it's pretty uptight and chock-full of regulations. At least, according to my mom, the food is decent.

"Stay Clear: Lamentable Living Conditions in Assisted Facility."

My grandma, who suffers from dementia and has a broken hip, was moved here by us as it seemed like a fantastic establishment at first sight. Unfortunately, that's just about the only good thing about it. The employees lack any empathy whatsoever. They continuously keep her sitting unclean for hours and neglect proper wound care. The more we harp on them to attend to her, the more they seem to evade us. In comparison, her previous residence, Tamarac nursing home - although physically worn down and less enjoyable - had staff members who diligently maintained sanitation daily and provided my grandmother with much-deserved affectionate care. I advise steering clear from this place!

"The Forum: An Assisted Living Facility With Unresolved Concerns"

We recently decided to chage my mom's residence from The Forum as we felt the care she was getting there was insufficient. Initially, we found The Assisted Living Center promising, including the auxiliary staff and Altha. However, whenever we needed help, it felt as if our requests were blatantly ignored. In the past few weeks, as my mom required a bit more attention, we felt the nursing care become increasingly inadequate. We just wanted her to be shown some kindness, but were informed by the Department Head that this was not a memory center, merely a "skilled nursing center". Oddly enough, a significant number of the facility's residents are battling dementia. This situation makes it hard to comprehend why the nursing staff don’t empathize or acknowledge the nature of this disease. I spoke to management about my concerns and was assured of an investigation. Sadly, I am still waiting for their response, three weeks later.

"Avoid! Bad Communication and Safety Concerns"

My family took our grandma to this place for a while, but we didn't enjoy the experience at all. Bluntly, the building looks neat and tidy but that's all for the pluses. It was always a struggle trying to communicate with the employees, and, to top it off, my grandma fell and had to visit the hospital over and over. It's best to steer clear of this facility.
