"Room for Improvement at The Sterling Aventura"
My family member stays at The Sterling Aventura. They need cleaner surroundings. Yesterday, I spotted a cockroach on their walker. The meals are yummy. Adding more activities would be nice, even just going out occasionally. They hardly ever leave, which wasn't what we were told on the tour. Some workers are friendly, but others seem uninterested.

"Great care and value with room for minor improvements"
I would give this place a four-star rating. The only reason it's not five stars is because they're renovating the hair salon and need new carpets. Otherwise, it's been a great experience for my mother! Compared to renting an apartment with live-in care in Miami, this is much better value. The activities director, who I won't name here, is fantastic. She takes great care of everyone. The staff, nurse, and head of maintenance all personally meet with my mom, ensuring she's well taken care of and happy. Plus, they offer excellent activities for the residents.

"Dissatisfied with Minimal Care at Sterling Aventura"
They don't genuinely offer any help. They only ensure that people don't topple over. I wasn't happy with the experience and removed my family member from their facility. I wouldn't suggest the Sterling Aventura to other people.

"A Top-Notch Assisted Living Experience!"
From the start, the staff impressed us with their professionalism and helpfulness. The activities director has consistently been there for us, helping our loved one come out of her shell and connecting with other residents. The management team keeps us informed, and the executive chef’s meals are top-notch. Special occasion dinners are a true delight. While some day-to-day staff issues exist, overall, our experience at The Sterling Aventura community has been really good. We recommend it to other families.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
This place is really nice, and I'm happy my mom could move here. We pay extra for her specific care needs, though it's unclear what exactly we get for the money. Staff attitudes vary. The food is excellent and well-cooked. Residents get three meals daily with options. The community is kept very clean.

"The Sterling: Deceitful, Poorly Staffed, and Unreliable"
Avoid The Sterling at all costs! They were dishonest about everything. They don't have activities because there aren't enough staff members. There's absolutely no monitoring. My family member kept ending up in the hospital after numerous falls. They overcharged us for months of rent when she only stayed for a few weeks. In the end, they just kicked her out with no place to go. During the sales talks, they made everything sound perfect. But once you're in and have signed, it's totally different. The person in charge constantly argues and isn't nice. My loved one's health drastically got worse after staying here and I regret we ever chose this place.

"Facility's Communication and Patient Care Waning"
What a joke! People say the Sterling is a great spot for your family members, but it's far from it. Even the doctor says he's never had issues with the place until recently. Turns out, even he's been having trouble getting a hold of anyone to check on patients or instruct a nurse. While the staff seem nice and respectful upfront, it's nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone. At first, I'd be sent to the nurse's station, only to hear the voicemail box was full before getting cut off. Now, first, you have to get someone to even answer the calls before being sent off to nowhere. On the bright side, at least now calls to the nurse's station go to voicemail, but don't expect a call back anytime soon. Good luck trying to get in touch with a higher-up. They're professionals at dodging the issue. Share your worries and they'll just tell you what they think you want. Regarding patient care, especially at night, I've found them to be [Removed]. I'm now planning to move my family member out of there!

"Nice place, good staff, and reasonable cost!"
I moved my sister to Sterling Aventura. The cost is reasonable and much cheaper than having in-home care for 8-12 hours a day. The staff is helpful and friendly. The place is well-organized, and the food is good. It’s not fancy but not bad either. It feels like a decent, mid-level hotel.

"So Thankful!!!! Words Can't Express My Gratitude!"
I was lost on how to get my mom the care she needed, so I contacted A Place for Mom and spoke with [Removed], who was awesome! My first impression of The Sterling was wonderful, and my experience has been fabulous. I don't know what I would do without all the assistance they've provided me and my family. The staff has been absolutely phenomenal, always keeping me informed and making sure my mom gets the utmost care. I am so thankful for everything!

"Top-Notch Care That Feels Like Home"
Putting a loved one into assisted living can be really tough. But the Sterling Aventura made everything so much easier with their amazing staff. We started the process before we needed to move our mother there, thinking we had time. Then she got sick and ended up in the hospital right before Thanksgiving. Thanks to staff like [Removed] and [Removed], we were able to move her into the facility on Thanksgiving, and she started her new life there the following Monday. The staff is fantastic. Our 84-year-old mom can be pretty picky, but she keeps thanking us for choosing Sterling. She says, “Nothing can be perfect, but Sterling is 99% perfect.” To us, that means they’re over 100%! They have activities every day, and Daniel, the Activity Director, does everything he can to get the residents involved. For our mom, he even knocks on her door in the morning to make sure she’s up and ready. Even though she was hesitant at first, she now enjoys the Sterling Happy Hour and looks forward to mingling with others and listening to music. Anthony, the kitchen/dining room director, is also very accommodating. The nursing staff is wonderful. On the day we moved mom in, we met [Removed], the incredible woman in charge, and [Removed] (sorry if I spelled it wrong), the Nursing Director. She gave me her cell phone number in case I needed to reach her. Unfortunately, I had to call her twice, including on Christmas night. She answered right away, contacted her staff, and took care of everything. She never made us feel like we were bothering her and always handled things promptly. The staff who care for mom are respectful, professional, and always speak to her kindly, making sure she doesn’t feel like a burden. Recently, I had to take mom to the doctor using Sterling’s transport service. Mr. T was great—very professional with her. When I boarded the vehicle, he gave me an envelope with all the information the doctor might need, including copies of her medical cards and ID. It was a very thoughtful and professional touch that made things easier for us. If you need assisted living, my siblings, mom, and I highly recommend Sterling Aventura. They truly care about their residents and are dedicated to providing top-notch care and service. According to my mom, it’s “like living in the ritziest hotel with nursing service.” That’s the highest compliment we can give.

"The Sterling of Aventura"
My husband has been at The Sterling for just over a year, and I'm very pleased with the care he gets. The Executive Director is wonderful and always willing to help. She's very visible and reachable. The Nursing Director Charmaine and her staff are professional, caring, and dedicated. The Activities Director and her team provide great activities for the residents. My husband loves the daily Happy Hour with live entertainment. I would recommend this place to any of my friends.

"Beautiful community with caring staff and great service!"
The Sterling Aventura is an older community, but it is very well kept. It's a lovely place with a lot to offer. The staff were really nice and did a great job showing me around the beautiful community. They were very attentive and listened to all my concerns. They truly showed that they cared and understood how hard this decision was.

Our experience with The Sterling has been very good overall. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive to residents' needs. The community is small, which allows for more individual attention. The facility is well kept and clean, and they do a good job taking care of the residents.

"Mom is very happy and well cared for!"
We moved our mother into an apartment at Sterling. After being there for over three weeks, she keeps telling us how happy and excited she is to be there. The staff is wonderfully attentive, and she loves the food. All the activities make for a lively and engaged group of residents. We can’t express how relieved we are that she is so content and well cared for.

"Most Importantly, I Trust the Sterling Aventura"
Taking care of my 94-year-old aunt was tough. She was fiercely independent but couldn't care for herself anymore. She rejected home health care and assisted living but couldn't do basic tasks. I heard about Sterling Aventura from my aunt’s cousin, who lives there. Her cousin and doctor thought it was a great place. We toured Sterling Aventura, and I was impressed. They understood my aunt’s needs and personality. Every question was answered, and I got materials to help decide. My aunt was pleased, which was a relief. When it was time to move, we got great support from the staff. The director even recommended a mover who did a fantastic job. My aunt’s first week was rocky, but the staff helped her adjust. Now, 5 months later, she’s healthier, mentally sharper, socially engaged, and happier. It’s not perfect, but much better than living alone. I trust Sterling Aventura and no longer worry about my aunt’s welfare. Friends who visit are impressed too. It’s excellent value for money.

"Great place doing a fantastic job for residents!"
Everything has been great so far! They’re doing an awesome job. We haven't had any complaints about the food or other residents at all. They were a bit pricier than some other places we checked out, but it seems like it’s worth the extra cost.

"The Sterling Lives Up To Its Name!"
My mom moved into the Sterling a few months ago. Barry, the leasing manager, was the first contact and he is wonderful—charming and empathetic. He set the stage for the great service at the Sterling. While it's not the most luxurious place with tons of amenities, it has comfortable facilities (public areas are being updated), good food, and a great staff who are caring and attentive. My mom has moderate dementia, and they have made her life and mine much better. They monitor her and check in on her throughout the day. Despite what others have said, parking is not a problem. The price is reasonable compared to other places. The AC works great in my mom's room, which is bright, well-sized, with a big bathroom. Cable is included, but not wifi in the rooms. Everyone here is pleasant and accommodating. I highly recommend this place.

"This Place is The Best"
I can't fully convey how safe, caring, professional, happy, and loving The Sterling Aventura is. My dad moved here after my mom passed away, and finding an assisted living community was daunting. Barry, who handles leasing, was amazing. He walked me through everything and made us feel welcome. Barry genuinely cares about the residents and their families. Mary, the executive director, made my dad's transition smooth. She and all the staff—from nurses to wait staff—are dedicated to making sure residents are happy and well cared for. The food is delicious too! The residents all say this place is the best, and I agree. My dad is thriving here, and my family and I feel lucky to have found The Sterling Aventura.

"My mom likes it at The Sterling Aventura"
My mom likes it at The Sterling Aventura. The people are super friendly and the help they provide is fantastic—they go the extra step. They offer tons of activities, the rooms are nice, and the food is pretty good. For meals, they have a signature option, but will make you something else if you prefer. I'd recommend The Sterling Aventura to others.

"A Wonderful Community of Support"
My mother-in-law, Luba, who is 90, has been at The Sterling for over three years. She moved there after her husband passed away, and it was a tough adjustment. From our first interviews and our interactions with the staff, we've appreciated their genuine concern and support. Luba has her ups and downs, but she's thriving thanks to the care at The Sterling. Executive Director, Head Nurse, and the evening floor medical assistant Virginia have all gone above and beyond to ensure she is happy, healthy, safe, and fulfilled. This is a quality operation. You may find cheaper places, but none with the same level of caring support we've experienced at The Sterling. Worth every dollar!

"Really Nice, But Too Expensive"
This place is really nice, but it’s too expensive for me. They charge a big processing fee, and you have to bring your own furniture for the rooms. They have lots of activities and things to do. The locked unit seemed very safe. It’s a bigger facility. You get what you pay for, and I understand that’s why it’s pricey. They don’t have much of an outside area, which I wanted.

"Caring professionals at this facility"
I’m a nurse who often visits this facility to care for clients. The staff here are always kind, caring, and professional. The staffs really understand their residents' needs and ensure they get top-quality care. Dorinda also knows what’s needed and leads a team of skilled staff. I always see the residents enjoying activities, and they often mention how much they appreciate the Activities Director. I would recommend this facility to any of my clients without hesitation.
