"Untrustworthy Caregiver at Expensive Facility; Undesirable Food Options"
I had to temporarily put a friend in this assisted living facility until a permanent place could be found. Throughout his stay, he encountered numerous problems. The woman running the place was extremely rude to both me and my friend's brother. She went so far as to accuse me of stealing without having any evidence, pushing a wedge between my friend and his brother; a brother who had actually been paying her. Things escalated to the point that my friend was forcibly admitted to the hospital. When the hospital tried to return him back to this facility, he flatly refused. Despite all the trauma, he is now settled in a safe environment. The caregiver falsely portrayed herself as a minister but her actions were far from godly. I wouldn't suggest this place to anybody due to the absurdly high cost which is twice as much as other large facilities charging about $1500 a month for three wholesome meals. At Vandor ALF, any family member would be lucky to get a basic meal like a canned food item served on a bun with a dollop of coleslaw, all of which are most likely past their expiration dates. Worse, there was this day I caught her feeding everyone only a Jamaican beef patty for lunch, ignoring the fact that my friend is living with diabetes. In conclusion, I implore everyone to avoid this place and never entrust their loved ones to this woman's care. It is an absolute NO from me.
