"Understaffed but Recommendable Assisted Living Facility"
I think Truewood by Merrill Charlotte Center doesn't have enough staff. Despite that, I would suggest this place to others.

"Concerns Over Care Quality and Communication at Truewood Center"
My family member used to live at Truewood by Merrill Charlotte Center. The staff would let us know if there was a big issue, but they often missed the small warning signs that something was going wrong. They also didn't think these minor issues were worth a phone call. It felt like the people in charge weren't getting the full story from the staff until a problem got big. Honestly, it's not entirely the Center's fault that things didn't go great for my family member there. I feel like families should be more aware of what care these places can really give. The physical health of my loved one went downhill a lot over the five weeks he was there. Part of it was because he didn't want to participate, but also because the Center wasn't consistent in making sure he was moving around enough. As for the food, I'm sure it was healthy, but it didn't cater to his tastes. Also, there were a bunch of 'extra charges' that no one really explained to us. I wouldn't suggest sending your loved one to Truewood by Merrill Charlotte Center unless you can visit them a lot to make sure they're doing okay.

"Memory care activities and value remain unclear"
We can't rate the activities because we haven't seen them. We don't know the value since we don't know other places' prices. Our loved one is in memory care, and sometimes when we visit, her clothes don't match.

"Friendly Assisted Living with a Few Considerations"
We really like the Truewood by Merrill community. The staff is friendly, the floor plan is great, and the common areas are well set up. We appreciate that they lock the front door at night. Overall, we’d recommend this place to other families, but with a few things to keep in mind.

"Helpful staff, happy father, more activities needed"
Overall, I was impressed by how helpful the staff was when my father and I moved into the facility. They went out of their way to meet my father's needs, especially since he lost most of his things in Hurricane Ian. The staff always guided me through the facility's requirements and services. They kept in regular contact with me and updated me on any news. My father hasn't complained about anything, so he must be very happy, even with his challenges. The only thing that might need more attention is the variety of activities and outdoor options.

"Issues with Care Services at Assisted Living Facility"
They didn't do a great job with care services. My family member needs a compression hose, but sometimes they forgot to put it on. They also didn't assist with showering when they were supposed to. It definitely wasn't worth the money. And whenever extra help was needed, they raised the price. The community fee should be adjusted if someone stays less than 90 days. On the bright side, the cleaning staff was friendly and efficient. Overall, the issue was mainly with the nursing staff.

"Quick Access to Assisted Living"
We chose this community because it's close to our home, and A Place for Mom connected us with someone who helped us get in quickly. I'd recommend it to other families for assisted living.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility Amenities and Staffing"
My loved one enjoys the meals and activities like Bingo and puzzles. However, we feel our money could be better spent as productivity seems low. We chose this place for its friendly admissions staff and happy atmosphere, but they could use more employees. Families should ask plenty of questions before deciding.

"Friendly Staff but Dated Facility"
I toured this facility. It's pretty old, and the apartments are small and look outdated. The dining area is divided into small groups. The staff was friendly and the place was clean, but it's just old. It’s not what my loved one was looking for.

"A Mixed Experience"
Certainly! Here's a revised version of the 3-star review for Truewood by Merrill, Charlotte Center: --- **Title: ** I recently had an experience at Truewood by Merrill, Charlotte Center. Overall, it's a decent place, but there are some areas for improvement. The facility is very clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly. My mom lives in her own little apartment, which they call a neighborhood. The dining rooms are beautiful, set with tablecloths. However, the memory care residents' clothing isn't always appropriately matched. Despite this, Truewood offers good value for money, and the quality of care is commendable²⁴. --- Feel free to ask if you need any further assistance! 😊 Source: Conversation with Bing, 5/14/2024 (1) Truewood by Merrill, Charlotte Center. https://www.merrillgardens.com/senior-living/fl/port-charlotte/cochran-blvd/?utm_source=bingPlaces&utm_medium=organic.
