"Chef [name removed] Elevates Dining Experience at The Shores"
This review is overdue. The Head Chef is a top chef on Florida’s West Coast. He manages food for Alta Marina Restaurant and 1926 Bar, creating creative menus that meet residents’ needs. His cooking is excellent, with artistic presentation. Monthly themed meals are a highlight, offering special experiences. Alta Marina offers fine dining in stunning St. Petersburg. Despite staff shortages, Chef maintains high quality standards, even helping with service. Thank you, Chef for enhancing our life at the Shores!

"High Costs and Dining Issues at Westminster Shores"
This place used to have a really long waitlist. But now they’re having problems with how many people can live here. The cost has gone up by 30% in just 6 years, and it’s too expensive for me. Other residents are looking for different places to live because of this. The dining situation isn’t great either—they’re cutting back on food portions and choices, and they’re even thinking about getting rid of breakfast altogether. My parents were in a fancy CCRC, and if their rates had gone up like Westminster Shores’, I would’ve moved them out right away. These price hikes are way more than what other similar places in Florida are doing.

"Mixed Apartment Sizes, Recommend Westminster Shores for Assisted Living"
Some apartments are spacious, but my studio feels cramped. I'd suggest Westminster Shores to others.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short, But Staff Shine"
I moved into this place five years ago, and it's changed a lot since then. The workers here are doing a bunch of jobs that aren't really part of their job description. For example, the Activities Director is now driving a tram to bring us meals instead of checking in on us. Also, they got rid of our nurse, who everyone loved and trusted. She was taking care of us just like she was supposed to, following all

"Great tour, but another place was a better fit"
The tour of this place was excellent. It was a nice community, but another place ended up being a better fit for my loved one. The tour guide did a great job and provided all the details I needed.

"Regret Over Recommending Disappointing Assisted Living Facility"
We chose this assisted living community six years ago because it had 24/7 healthcare and other services, daily meals, help during hurricanes, and a friendly environment. However, these features have disappeared over time. Some of the problems are: - There's no longer a nurse available around the clock to respond to emergency calls. - Automatic defibrillators aren't allowed, and a company rule prohibits them in independent-living areas. - They are planning to start a part C Medicare program where residents will be required to give their Medicare benefits to them, as well as pay a monthly fee for the health center services. - People living independently are now being told to take care of themselves during hurricanes. - They have big problems with their dining program and the quality of their food. Even though residents pay a ton of money each month, they only get a small amount for food each day. We really regret recommending our parents move into this facility.

"Decline in care quality."
The Shores raises rates, cuts services, poor food, no defibrillators.

"Westminster Ignoring Residents' Concerns and Broken Promises"
The scenery is great, and I've found a bunch of great friends here, but I can't suggest this place to anyone anymore. What's the problem? It's the people in charge. They gave us their word, then broke it. Like, they said they would evacuate us if a hurricane hits, but now they say that independent living residents must fend for themselves if a hurricane comes! I'm on the list to move into the new building they're still building. For the past year, the residents keep pointing out problems but the higher ups just ignore us and hardly ever respond. Some issues include toilets at a height older folks can use, proper doors for walk-in closets, and a dining room where we were assured one meal a day. Westminster Communities of Florida clearly doesn't care what we, the residents, think or want.

"Mixed Feelings on Care, Dining, and Activities at Assisted Living"
The care services were okay, but I think a 3 is generous. I think they could improve how they help my friend bathe because right now, they just watch instead of really helping. My friend wants the dining to be faster. There are activities for residents to do. Overall, I would suggest this place to others for their loved ones.

"Great view but probably expensive"
The photo of the living room overlooking Tampa Bay is amazing. But that view is likely very expensive.

"Fantastic Assisted Living with Great Views and Easy Social Life"
Moving here a year ago was the best choice I could have made. The campus is beautiful with a great view of the water. I really enjoy my two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath apartment with a balcony. The bright lighting, wide doorways, and level sidewalks are features that will be even more useful as I get older. Making friends is simple here because we eat together in the dining room and have lots of activities and outings to choose from.

"Great support and lots of activities!"
The info sessions before the move were really helpful and made me feel ready. Each new resident gets a volunteer host who called before I moved in, had lunch with me the next day, answered my questions, and helped me get settled. Both the staff and residents are super friendly and welcoming. There are so many fun activities, it'll be tough to choose a favorite.
