"Affordable and Spacious Assisted Living"
My mom was really happy there, but it’s quite large, so residents should be mostly independent. I picked it because of the price.

"Friendly Staff and Renovations Make Woodlands a Top Choice"
Woodlands Village is an older place, but they're fixing it up from top to bottom. New residents move into freshly remodeled apartments when they can. Some people say bad things about Woodlands, but they say the same about places that cost twice as much. The best thing about Woodlands, though, is how the staff treats everyone. From the boss to everyone else, they treat you like you're part of their family. This is my second time at Woodlands. I was there for almost 5 years before I wanted to live on my own again. After a year away, health problems meant I needed another place to live on my own. It didn't take long to decide I wanted to go back to Woodlands Village. After all, it feels like home.

"Friendly Staff, Food and Cleanliness Concerns Need Attention"
The staff at this place is really nice and they know the residents well. They try hard to help with whatever the residents need. The food could be better though. Sometimes the rice and pasta are not cooked enough. It would be better if residents could choose their meals a day ahead. That way, the kitchen could make sure there's enough of each dish for everyone. The place is getting remodeled, so some of the cleaning issues might be because of that. But the big problem is cockroaches. They really need to hire an exterminator if they haven't already. If they have one, they need to do it more often or find a better company because what they're doing now isn't working.

"Older Assisted Living Facility with Smoky Atmosphere"
The person showing us around seemed sick, maybe just allergies. It was hard to learn much from her. The place seems pretty old. We noticed a resident smoking, and you could smell it right as you walked in.

"Clean, attentive staff, great food, and fun activities"
Woodlands Village might be an older building, but it's always clean and well-kept. We're really happy with our experience so far. The staff are super helpful and attentive. They have enough staff to get things done and keep good communication. Our loved one is picky about food, but she hasn't complained yet. The activities are great too, with lots of different things to do. She especially loves bingo and exercise classes.

"Supportive Staff and Residents; Lacks Memory Care and Space"
The people who work here are really nice and the vibe is friendly. It could use a bit of a makeover because the look is old, but there are nurses here all the time. The whole place is just on one level and I noticed that everyone who lives here seems to be looking after each other. Feels like a close-knit community. They don't have a lot of room for games or fun stuff. Also, they really don't have much to offer for people like my mom who need memory care.

"Tour Time With The Community"
I had a nice tour at this place. It started on time, and I had a guide who knew a lot. I felt it looked a bit old, and the carpets were worn out. It’s also a big community, and I thought it might be hard to get around.

"Unhappy With Unreliable Transportation Services"
The transportation services here have not been meeting my expectations. They offered to take me to the grocery store and my doctor's appointments, but the bus has been out of service for most of my stay. Everyone living here is pretty frustrated about it. They're constantly trying to fix the bus, which is old and has a lot of mechanical problems. The bus driver's a good guy though. Apart from that, the food, cleanliness, fun activities, and staff members are all okay. But they really need to improve the transportation considering it's part of what I'm paying for.

Family In Need of Senior Assis
"Shockingly Unprofessional Conduct at Woodland Villages"
We went to check out Woodland Villages last weekend. To our surprise, they told us halfway through the tour that Mom was "not a good fit". This was unexpected and made Mom pretty sad. She was having a good time talking to some of the people living there who came up to say hi. But when the dining room staff started cleaning up the tables with a lot of noise, Mom didn't like it. Even when she let them know they were being too loud, they just kept doing it. She had to raise her voice because it was an awkward situation we couldn't easily leave because she used a walker. To add to this, the administrators didn't even have the decency to talk to me and my mom directly. They chose to chat with my husband while we were in the restroom getting ready for the tour. It was not cool how they treated a senior and her family who were just trying to find the right place for mom to live. Because of this, mom's now feeling even more down about not being able to look after herself and kind of let down about finding a home that truly cares about her. Luckily, we know there are better places out there run by more capable people. Woodland Villages might have had a nice layout with a screened porch, but we're still looking for the right place.

"Great Assisted Living Facility"
The customer service rep, was super helpful. She went above and beyond to assist my mom at Woodlands. Even though I’m 1200 miles away, Jill made it all possible. The staff discussed my mom’s needs and made her feel comfortable. Mom loves the food—it’s essential since she’s not a big eater. The social activities are a hit, and she might stay longer after recovering from her fall. Bless the wonderful folks at Woodlands—they’re great!

"Assisted Living Review: Everything Goes Well as Long as I'm Proactive"
This place is good as long as I keep track of everything. The food is tasty, and there's plenty of it, so my loved one won't go hungry. They plan activities from Monday to Friday. The staff is nice and recognizes me. Their prices are competitive with others I checked, and I like that it's nearby.

"Safe and comfortable transition for my father-in-law"
The Woodland Villages was so easy to work with when finding a comfortable, safe place for my father-in-law. He thought it would be like a "nursing home," but once he walked in and saw how friendly everyone was and the size of his apartment, he decided almost right away that he was ready to move in. Everyone there has made the transition easy for him and our family. They are all very thoughtful and truly care about his comfort and care. I feel it was the right time and place for him, and we are so glad that A Place for Mom (and Dad too) helped us find Woodland Villages.

"Overall, Things Are Going Well at the Facility"
Overall, everything is going pretty well. They keep things mostly clean. The staff is usually friendly, but with about forty employees, some are nicer than others. It looks like the residents enjoy the activities, though I don't join in much. Sometimes there aren't enough staff to respond quickly; it depends on the day. In the first month, I really wanted a burger from the corner, but the food here is okay and seems to be getting better. They will bring your food to you if needed. There is always room for improvement, and there are a couple of things that could be better. I'm pretty independent for my age and don't need help with everything, but they still do some things for you, like giving medications. With so many people needing help, they keep the apartment doors unlocked, and staff can come in anytime, even if you're not ready. It would be nice if these things were decided individually instead of being the same for everyone. I don't know about the independent living side; I'm on the assisted side.

"Pricy 1-BR with Added Care in Convenient, Long-Standing Facility"
The assisted living facility charges $2825 for a one-bedroom, with an additional $550 for level 1 care. This care includes medication reminders, ensuring the residents take their meds, conducting checks every two hours, and emergency pull cords. They also offer food delivery service. The facility is conveniently located and has 100 individual apartments and 70 assisted living units. It's been around for 30 years.

"Comfortable apartments, lively community, but food needs improvement."
This place is cool because people there are friendly and hang out together. They also have big kitchens in the apartments, which is nice. And if something breaks, the people who fix stuff are fast. But the food isn't always good, so sometimes my family member cooks her own food instead. Also, the carpets in the hallways are kinda old and need changing.

"Very Spacious Apartment"
They encourage residents to participate. My parents live in independent housing with a spacious apartment. Some care is provided, mostly by Medicare Home Health. They receive laundry service twice a week, housekeeping, and meals. There's a 24-hour snack bar with hot soup and fruits. Plus, they organize outings and trivia games.

"Location and Facilities Not Up to Par"
Overall, it wasn't my favorite place. I wasn't a fan of where it was located. The facilities just weren't appealing to me. The apartments and their layout weren't great and they felt cramped. They didn't even let us eat there, so I can't comment on the food.

"Great care and very patient staff!"
I think Woodlands is great. My uncle has been more trouble than I expected. He wasn’t taking his medications, but they worked that out, and they’ve done a great job getting him back on track. He’s not in assisted living or independent living, but they’ve been very patient with him. They even laugh with him, and I’m overall pleased with their care. He creates problems because he tries to be too helpful, so we finally got him a dog to keep him busy. I’m not sure if he participates much now since the dog is his main focus, but we’re happy with everything.

"Unsatisfactory Care at Assisted Living Facility"
I was absolutely unsatisfied with their service. I visited one day and discovered excrement on my mother-in-law's bed. We were dishing out extra cash above the base cost and all they thought it was worth was a check-in every couple hours. All they would do is pop in quickly, ask if she was okay and then leave. I spent an entire day taking care of her and cleaning her space. They weren't even giving her baths! As soon as we could, we took her out of there. They pretty much left her isolated. If she didn't make it to the dining area, they'd just drop off a meal and leave it on her counter. She'd end up tossing it. As we were moving her out, we found an old meal tucked away under the sink.

"Feels Like Home"
They do a great job keeping the place clean and nice. We had a meal here, and our loved one chatted with residents who had been there a while and got along well with them. She also talked to some people she knew before they moved in, which made it feel like this was where she belonged. The location was very convenient for our family. The food is good, healthy, and well-balanced. It’s not frozen or canned food; it looks like fresh, whole foods are prepared.
