"Addington Place: A Good Home for Our Family Member"
My family member lives at Addington Place of Roswell. It’s a good place for them. We go there almost every day. I think other people would like it too.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience: Neglect and Poor Conditions"
This place disappointed me. No nurse for over a month, and no memory care at all. The nurse got fired for supervising memory care, even though it was known she never did it. When I saw the cleaners wipe a wet cloth on my sister's mirror, I asked them to use Windex, but they said they didn't have any. There's too much stuff over the greens, and the portions are uneven. The kitchen is a mess, and the oven was broken for most of the year, maybe still is. The dishes are either dirty or plastic. They provide silverware and paper plates, which makes me think the dishes are dirty and the dishwasher is broken. My sister used to advocate for other patients and meet regularly with the staff, but now she's given up. I tried contacting a number I was given, but my call wasn't returned. The CNAs are good at their job and caring.

"Assisted Living Facility Receives High Praise for Friendly Atmosphere"
We've been happy with Addington Place. The new manager is helpful and pleasant. The staff are friendly and caring. The facility is clean and nice. Activities are improving with board games, church services, and catered food with live music. They're doing a great job.

"Addington Place offers poor care, rude staff, and unclean conditions."
Addington Place has taken a severe downward turn in under its current leaders. The level of care provided doesn't meet the mark. The employees show discourtesy. The living spaces aren't kept clean or maintained. Medicines don't always arrive when they're needed. Emergency calls are often left unanswered. The food lacks both flavor and nutrition. The lack of an activity coordinator or a nurse is problematic. No assessment of patient requirements is performed by the staff. The heating system isn't able to keep up during the cold months. Thermostats don't work right. Rooms suffer from mildew. The place is frankly understaffed and the workers don't seem to know what they're doing.

"Assisted Living Facility: Mixed Experience with Socialization and Guidance"
I think it's okay. He doesn't get as much guidance as I'd like. He seems isolated. I wish they encouraged him more to socialize. They offer activities, but he's not interested. Overall, staff are nice, helpful, and attentive. I wish he had more social time. Food is delivered to his room, so he's not socializing as much as I'd hope. There are many wheelchair users; he's not. Moving from a house to a community makes it hard to judge his issues versus what the community provides, as I can't visit.

We really liked this place. It's now under new management, so if you look up reviews, you'll see some negative ones from before the change. This is a smaller facility, and the staff seemed to know every resident by name, often greeting them with hugs. From our tour and the way they interacted, it looked great. Some rooms even open up to a nice enclosed patio area, which I thought was a nice touch. In the end, we chose a location closer to our home that fit our mother-in-law better.

"Addington Place: A True Home for Loved Ones"
If I could give this place a higher rating, I would! It's a perfect 10! My mom was recently at Addington Place under Hospice care, and it was such a blessing for her. She had many health issues and couldn’t go back home. Addington felt as close to home as you can get. The little touches were incredible—they decorated her room with her favorite colors and style, making it feel just like her home. She experienced warmth and compassion from all the staff, and so did my whole family. They didn’t just care for my mom; they treated all of us like family. Recently, Addington was bought by Phoenix Senior Living, and they are making amazing changes. We visited several facilities in the past few months, and Addington was far better than the others. I’ve heard they have even more plans to improve. This place is truly a gem in Historic Roswell!

"Disappointing Assisted Living Center, Promises Unfulfilled - Buyer Beware!"
Don't buy into the sales pitch. They'll boast about how great the place is and walk you around when it's not busy (it's eerily quiet on weekends). The living spaces aren't tidy, carpets are grimy, and emergency call buttons for residents are often faulty. The meals are inedible, and the listed activities aren't accurate. If you don't fancy the regular meal, they'll say there are "other" options. But those options are usually only peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. See those empty rooms? There's a reason they're unoccupied. They seldom keep residents or their families in the loop about anything. It's advertised as a "transition" home, but it's more like a full-time care facility. Most occupants aren't cognitively sharp, and very few can have a sensible conversation. This is not the place for social mingling - most residents isolate themselves after meals. A new management team took over and boasted about major improvements, but it was all lip service. Nice as the new employees are, (a lot of the old ones resigned or were fired), they lack proper training. It's all haphazard. The rooms desperately need refurbishment. You can't truly understand how bad it is unless you've lived here. Residents have even been publicly scolded for leaving bad reviews at family meetings. But these reviews are written for a reason - they keep the management accountable.

""Look Beyond The Illusions: Empty Rooms, Unfulfilled Promises""
Don't let the advertising fool you. They'll boast about how wonderful it is and show you around - if there's anyone there. It's like a ghost town on weekends. Rooms aren't sanitary, the carpets are gross, and the resident's emergency call pendants often malfunction. The food tastes terrible, and the announced activities just aren't happening. They may say they have "alternative" meal options if you don't like what's being served, but rarely anything other than PB&J is on offer. Scope out the number of unoccupied rooms - they're empty for a reason. Communication with residents or their families is nonexistent. They'll claim it's a "transition" home, but the reality is more like a nursing home. Most residents can't even remember what they last ate, so asking them about living conditions is futile. Very few can have a clear conversation. Socializing here is a no-go, so don't expect your parents to make friends. Residents just eat and then retreat to their rooms to watch TV. New management took control last autumn promising major improvements - yeah right! While most of the new staff is friendly, the previous ones have either quit or been fired, and there is zero training. No consistency at all. The rooms are outdated and desperately need a makeover. Unless you've lived here, you can't truly grasp the reality. And residents have been scolded in a public meeting for sharing negative reviews. Reviews are written for a reason - to promote honesty.

"Head Director's Poor Management and Safety Issues"
This elder living center is poorly managed. The head staff member often smiles, but doesn't manage well. They are short-staffed and the food isn't good. We had to change our parent's residence as we were worried about their safety.

"Mom's week-long stay marked by understaffing and poor food!"
My mom only stayed at this facility for a week before she decided to move back to her old community. We noticed that the staff was seriously understaffed; only two of them were present during the evening shifts. They allow the residents to leave and return whenever they want, which made me worry about her safety. Plus, the food was not good at all. On the bright side, they did have daily activities and the place was kept pretty clean.

"Warm, welcoming community with delicious meals and happy residents"
This cozy community has so much to offer! She was great at listening to what we wanted, and she gave a thorough tour while sharing a lot about the facility. The rooms are small, but they can be combined to make a larger living space. Lunch was delicious—fried chicken, vegetables, and a biscuit! We don’t usually get served bread, so that was a nice treat. There’s a beautiful courtyard room that leads to a garden, where residents can join in gardening activities. The residents we met seemed happy, and one even came over to chat with us. This place is definitely one of our top choices!

"The Manor is an Amazing Place for My Parents!"
I'm writing this for my parents. To sum it up, the Manor is GREAT, and my parents LOVE it! That means we, their kids, love it too! Here are the details... My parents have lived in three different assisted living facilities since my mom broke her second hip and my dad had a stroke while she was in surgery. They both recovered and are doing well now. Honestly, the Manor is the first place where my dad feels truly happy since they moved from their home on Lake Blue Ridge, where they lived for over 40 years. At first, the outside of the Manor seemed a bit like a "nursing home" to me, but when I stepped inside, I completely changed my mind. It's clean and fresh! The staff is friendly, caring, and very helpful. Even though my parents don’t join in on many activities, there are lots of fun and engaging ones available.

"Unpleasant stay during renovations, low staffing"
Our stay at this place happened during a big management shift and a bunch of renovations, and things could have gotten better since they wrapped everything up. While we were there, they seemed like they could have used more staff, and the residents weren't really taken care of well during the remodeling. There was constant noise and chaos. Because they were short-staffed, my Mom was often left to fend for herself, which wasn't good since she's not very strong physically.

"Great Staff, Dreadful Living Conditions"
Unpleasant Room But Outstanding Staff at Assisted Living Facility" The room they gave her was really awful, but the staff was amazing! It felt like she was stuck in a super dark, cave-like place. She only had one room which contained a half-sized bed, just a smidge bigger than a sleeping cot. It didn't have a TV or a radio and the lighting was really bad. Even though the room was bad, they fed her and took great care of her. The upstairs area was nice but her stay downstairs was really bad. Upstairs is more for people who can do things on their own. The facility is actually quite nice, it’s just her room that was simply unfit for anyone to live in. The staff members were awesome though; they did the best they could. We didn’t have any issue with the food or the people upstairs. The management was also top-notch.

Dad has been at Manor on The Square for 8 months. He’s tried 3 or 4 other communities, and this one is way better. The inside is nice, and they just finished landscaping and a big remodel. Everything is well-kept. Dad is 89 years old and very active. He gets along with the staff here better than anywhere else. I’m really happy they encourage everyone to get up and move around. Dad isn’t into games (he's in the memory section, which is a little weak), but he loves to walk around.

"A wonderful community"
I moved my mom to this place after her old home, Sunrise, changed owners and the care got worse. It's an older building, but it's very clean, the rooms are big, and the prices are good. My mom was in the Memory Care unit, which was great for her. She was diabetic, had Alzheimer's, and was legally blind. She stayed there for 4 months before she had two strokes and passed away, but the staff was amazing. They always helped whenever we needed it. The smaller unit was good for her because it was easier to move around. Note: the facility got new management after my mom died, and I haven't been in touch since, but it's definitely worth a look. We were very happy with the care and service.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Pleasant Environment, Has Some Drawbacks"
Decent Place with Good Features but Has Some Issues" This place seems to be pretty okay. Even though it's a bit older, it's kept clean. There's a bunch of cool stuff to do here, all organized by a full-time activity coordinator. They even have specific meals for people with diabetes, which I appreciate. My mom would be able to wear an alert pendant for her safety. The rooms aren't too shabby, they look pretty comfy. Everyone here seems friendly and the best part? It's not heavy on the pocket. But I've got a couple of issues. First, the place is real big. There can be up to 61 folks living here. Also, they only do laundry once a month.
