"Addington Place Fails to Care for Hospice Patient: A Warning"
I would definitely advise against Addington Place for anyone. Our experiences there were terrible and our mom ultimately passed away because of them. They didn't take care of her like they said they would. We were always billed incorrectly. There were hardly any staff around during the weekends. That’s usually when our mom fell because no one answered her requests for help. In her last two weeks there, she fell twice and ended up with a broken back and then a hip fracture. Neither us nor Hospice knew about her last fall until a whole day later only because they couldn't handle her screaming in pain any longer. She passed away three weeks after, from her injuries and suffering, following a week in the hospital and transferring to a different care facility. At the new place, all they could do was make her as comfortable as possible. Addington is only focused on making a profit by filling rooms. Even though a few health workers cared, their bosses did not.

"Negligence at Memory Care Leads to Multiple Falls and Hospitalizations"
Moving our nearly 100-year-old Mom, who has dementia and is at risk for falls, to Memory Care, proved to be a regrettable decision. The management promised that they cooperated with Hospice and ensured checks on the memory care residents every two hours. However, only a few months in, our Mom had already fallen thrice, with one of these instances resulting in a trip to the ER and stitches. We, therefore, got approval from the management to install a camera in her room. That's when we discovered that the promised two-hour checks were not being carried out. Moreover, unsupervised residents were casually strolling into her room at any given time of the day or night. In response to our concerns, management decided to park our mom in a wheelchair in a common area all day. Unfortunately, she suffered her fourth fall in this very area, and yet, another visit to the ER was necessitated. Following this episode, Hospice suggested a bed alarm to alert staff whenever Mom got out of bed, but management rejected this idea, calling it a restraint, which it certainly isn't. With no other recourse, we finally served them a thirty-day notice and moved our dear mom to a much safer place!

"Clean but Neglectful Assisted Living Facility"
The place was super neat. We chose this spot since it's an aid-filled living area looking more like a fancy house. But, I'd tell a buddy - don't go for it. The place's doctor was a no-show. My family member kept getting sicker, and they didn't take care of her issues.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
The place was really nice and in a good location for us. At first, everything seemed great. However, we have to keep checking to make sure our loved one is getting proper care. They do respond quickly to fix issues, but they are also very busy. Overall, it seems like the best option for our loved one, even though it's not flawless.

"Not Suitable for Advanced Memory Care Needs"
The stay wasn’t great. She often had bruises and red marks on her arms. It was a costly error. The staff couldn’t properly care for people with memory issues. They were short on staff and people left a lot. Her meds were filled while she was in the hospital, but she never got them at the facility. We paid for medicine that wasn’t used. The food was okay. I wouldn’t suggest this place for someone with serious dementia or Alzheimer’s.

"Avoid Addington Place - Unfair Treatment and Disregard for Residents"
Addington Place unfairly booted my dad out within his first year of living there. They sneakily shipped him off to a hospital and then decided not to let him return, all without giving us any head's up. On top of that, they pocketed a insane amount of his money even though he wasn't there for most of the month. They also kept the TV that I personally bought when he first moved in. What's worse, they hit him with an extra $500 bill because of an error *they* made, and they're still ignoring my calls and emails. I tried explaining to them how this extra charge would make him ineligible for Medicaid and put him in a tight spot, but they didn't seem to care. We're just trying to keep him safe, but it seems like Addington is more interested in the extra cash. His new place didn't even get the personal stuff that Addington claimed to have mailed over. When I asked for a detailed list and a tracking number, they flat out refused. So, please be careful. I would strongly advise you to stay far away from Addington. They may put on a friendly face, but trust me, they're not as nice as they seem.

"Feels like family from the start"
From the moment we walked into Benton House of Brunswick, we felt like part of a family. Everyone was so caring and welcoming, and they still are. The administrator is outgoing and truly cares. I can’t say enough good things about how wonderful they are to my mother. The other residents welcomed her warmly, and they all seem happy here.

"Great Value / Great Staff / Friendly Residents"
This place has been around for about a year and a half, and it's really well taken care of. We checked out several assisted living homes from Jacksonville, FL, to Brunswick, GA, and we picked Benton House because of its good value and the way they staffed according to the number of residents. The staff here is amazing—they're responsive to our needs, questions, and worries. That goes for everyone, from the Director to the aides. We've talked to lots of residents and their families, and everyone has great things to say about the staff and the facilities. Even a resident who's been here since day one speaks highly of Benton House. My mother-in-law has settled in nicely thanks to the friendly staff and her fellow residents. She loves the warm, social atmosphere that fills Benton House. It feels like a cozy, old-fashioned neighborhood.

"Lackluster Facility with Unfriendly Staff and Mediocre Food"
The employees appear harsh and unsympathetic. Their meals are pretty disappointing to be honest. On the bright side, they have a commendable activity schedule. They clearly don't appreciate dealing with residents who have medical conditions. We'll be leaving this place sooner than we had planned.

"Amazing Tour of Benton House for Mom's Future Home!"
My brother, stepmother, and I toured Benton House on the 31st. We all absolutely loved it! The lunch was delicious, and we were excited to see that we knew some of the residents. Everyone we talked to had great things to say about their time at Benton. It seemed like a perfect place for Mom. The staff was very helpful and truly cares about the residents. While we were there, we also met with a VA representative who explained how to apply for VA assistance. Now we’re just waiting to hear back about our VA approval.

"Friendly Staff and Clean Facility"
They were good. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. They charge based on care levels, which seems a bit subjective. I didn't like that part much. We did lose some clothes in the laundry, but they were very good and encouraged her to join activities. They were very accommodating. The food was good, with lots of variety, and they made it easy for her to eat.
