"Mixed Feelings About Ashton Manor at Sugarloaf"

I live at Ashton Manor at Sugarloaf and it's been really good so far. The staff is great. The place is clean and everyone is friendly. The food portions could be bigger though. Also, the vegetables are too mushy for my taste. Overall, I do like it here. I would tell others to check out Ashton Manor at Sugarloaf.

"Better Care Needed"

These are some ways the assisted living facility could improve: 1. Tastier Food: The meals should be more flavorful. Also, tenants need clear information about their food choices. What happened to afternoon snacks? I thought there were drinks available all the time. 2. Better Outings: When we signed up, we were promised outings by bus. But these outings shouldn't just mean going to Walmart. 3. 24/7 Front Desk Staff : It's essential to have someone at the front desk and available on the telephone at all times.

"Decent Value, Staff Changes, Needs Better Access & Communication"

This place is pretty okay for the price, but there’s been a lot of new faces on the team lately. In just three months, we’ve seen three different bosses, cooks, and other staff members come and go. I get that finding people to work is tough for everyone right now. The building has just one lift, and it’s only for electric wheelchairs, not scooters. So, if your family member finds it hard to walk, they’ll have to live on the ground floor or be able to use the stairs in case of an emergency like a fire. Talking with the staff could be smoother. The food’s hit or miss because they’re having a hard time finding a steady cook. But I’ve noticed some meals are getting tastier than before. Not sure if it’s all thanks to the new cook or if there’s a crew helping out in the kitchen.

"Facility Wasn't Inspiring, Lighting Too Dim"

I didn't really like how the place was set up. The inside didn't look very nice and the lights were kind of dim. It seemed cheaper, but it didn't feel right for my loved one.

"Good Staff, But Food and Cleanliness Issues"

Some of the staff are great, but some can be pretty rude. The meals used to be very, very good, but they got worse after they lost their chef. They hired a new one, and she is learning, but she uses too much salt. They just came out of a lockdown, and during that time, housekeeping stopped, so the normal cleaning routines weren't as good.

"Mixed Feelings About Dining, Warm Community Atmosphere"

My loved one isn't happy with the food. They think the portions are too small, and there isn't much variety. On Easter Sunday, they could choose only tomato soup or a grilled cheese sandwich, which surprised them. Sometimes they serve salmon, but not often. Breakfast is the best meal, served early and finishing early too. There are many activities for residents listed on a calendar. The staff and other residents are friendly. If you care about the meals, don't get too excited because they aren't enough.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Facility Tour Experience"

Our family visited this place, but we wouldn't choose it. The outside looked nice, but inside was very old. The rooms smelled like mold.

"Not Quite the Right Fit"

The community seemed nice, but it didn't meet our needs. The best room opened up to the parking area, which was also the smoking zone. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for us.

"Think twice before choosing this facility for your loved one."

Don't pick this place for your loved one. The people who were supposed to take care of my family member didn't do their job properly. Sometimes, they didn't even have the medical supplies needed. And worst of all, the staff yelled at my loved one.
