"Caring Staff Makes Dad Feel at Home"
My dad stopped his rehab when he moved here. He's not very social and stays by himself. The staff has made him feel really comfortable. They bring his meals right to his room. They are really nice and try their hardest to make him feel at ease.

From our stay in 2022, we feel there are things that need to get better. We’re talking about the care they give, what they promise to families, and just how they make living there feel for everyone.

"Mixed Feelings About Azalea Manor"
We think the people who work here are friendly, and they usually stick around. My mom's room could use a better cleaning. Azalea Manor is a reasonably priced place to stay, but it could use some improvements.

"Poor treatment, inadequate facilities, unauthorized withholding of medication."
After enduring a month of nightmares, we finally managed to leave. I would advise anyone else to only ever consider using this place if the person requiring care is mentally good and can walk on their own. Also, keep in mind that larger wheelchairs won't fit through the door to exit the rooms. As we were leaving, the manager ordered the employees to withhold medicines until they received payment, even though we had already paid.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
If I were dealing with depression, this wouldn't be my preferred place to stay. The rooms felt old and gloomy, and the dining facility didn't impress me. The director has a lot on her plate, managing two facilities.

"Location Not Ideal but Overall Satisfactory"
When my loved one moved here, the location wasn't ideal, but we could visit occasionally. Sometimes they're slow to respond with information, but overall, it's a good place.

"Azalea Manor struggles with management and care quality"
Azalea Manor is better for people needing assisted living rather than memory care. My loved one stayed there briefly, and I was very unhappy with the experience, especially with the management. Sometimes, my loved one's room wasn't cleaned and was sticky. My loved one was sometimes not clean, wearing dirty clothes, and had poor hygiene. The staff often told me my loved one was combative, but my loved one said the staff was rough. The community took good care of residents who needed only assisted living. But for those needing memory care, the care was lacking. She was nice, but the promises made weren't kept once we joined the community. I gave notice when I was picking up my loved one, but the staff was not informed or there was miscommunication. They also didn't tell me about issues with my loved one until much later. There was an outside activity they said my loved one participated in, but my loved one told me they didn't and wasn't dressed for it, which upset me. Customer service was great when bringing my loved one in, but management tried to stop me from moving to a new community. The director took items from my loved one and informed me later. The director claimed I didn't report issues, but I did. We also had billing problems, as they didn't want to refund money owed to me.

"Could Do Better: Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff are really nice and friendly, but the rooms need cleaning more often. My mom's bathroom is always dirty when I visit. It's hard to talk to the people in charge, and nobody answers when I call to talk to my mom. I feel like I should be getting more for what I'm paying.

"Caring Staff, Family Involvement"
I think Azalea Manor is a good place for loved ones. The staff have been nice and they keep me updated about how my loved one is doing, like the caseworker, hospice care coordinator, and the Executive Director.

"Disappointing Care and Unkept Promises at Assisted Living Facility"
We were told our family member would get the needed help from being in hospice care. But it didn't happen. They were barely bathed once a week, their medication often got mixed up and forgotten, and they didn't get the physical therapy needed after surgery. If you don't qualify for their hospice care, you get no help. While the hospice care team is great, we wouldn't suggest this place to others.

"Nice Meals but Needs Improvements"
Our loved one stayed here for a short time. The lady who runs the place is very nice, and he really liked the meals and dining. But, they need to improve cleanliness, staffing, and overall communication. Also, we didn't see any activities for the residents.

"Home-Like Atmosphere with Friendly Staff and Good Services"
This place feels more like a home than a hospital. The cleaning and care services are really good. The staff are super friendly and know what they're doing. Sometimes it seems like they could use more staff, but that seems to be a problem everywhere right now.

"See for yourself, you'll love it!"
I didn't like the reviews at first, but I took a chance, and I'm so glad I did. The director, sales staff, activities, and care staff were all welcoming and friendly. They've done a lot of renovations and are still improving things. The new owner really cares about the residents and is upgrading everything. The $2000 a month we pay now for my dad is absolutely worth it. We are so happy to be here!

"Caring Community for Grandpa's Comfort and Happiness"
My grandpa moved into Azalea Manor a little over a year ago in August 2017. It took him a few months to get used to the change. He's now 100 years old and really likes the staff. He's made some friends too. Sometimes he can be difficult, especially when he's feeling sad or doesn't want to take his medicine. But there's always someone on staff who knows how to smile, be patient, and help him out. My dad and I visit him two or three times a week. Usually, we find him napping in his recliner, hanging out in the common area, or sitting on the front porch.

"Awful Experience, Poor Care Led to Hospitalization"
Our experience with this assisted living home was awful. I'm really unhappy with the care they gave. They broke a lot of promises they made. Because of them, my mom ended up in the hospital. I'm upset that they risked her health. I definitely wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

"Awful Care Leads to Hospital Visit"
We had an awful time at this assisted living place. I was really unhappy with how they took care of things. They promised a bunch and didn't keep their word. My mom ended up in the hospital because of them. I really don't like that they put my mom's health at risk. I wouldn't advise anyone to go to this place.

"They couldn't provide proper care despite promises!"
From the get-go, we had issues with this place. My mother-in-law struggled to get her meals and assistance with bathing. They said they could manage her medical condition, but they really just didn't have the training to properly take care of her. We eventually moved her to a different home that can provide the required care.

"Great Atmosphere, Knowledgeable Staff, Food Aromas, Care Concerns Arise"
I liked this place a lot because it felt cozy. The people who work there seemed like they knew their stuff. When I visited, I could smell delicious food cooking. The director spent a lot of time talking to me and told me a bunch of helpful stuff. My dad was almost going to move in, but then his health got worse, and this place couldn't handle taking care of him well enough.

"Excellent Care and Friendly Staff"
I'm so impressed with this assisted living facility! The staff is amazing, providing top-notch care and personalized attention to each resident. It's been one of the best decisions I've made for my loved one. The staff earns an A+ for friendliness and handling tough situations with care. While activities are limited due to weather and varying resident needs, I appreciate their efforts. The location is perfect, and I've noticed a significant difference in cleanliness and staff quality compared to other facilities I've visited. One suggestion I have is to consider securing the entrance at night, as the 24/7 open door policy may pose a risk, despite the alarm system.

"Friendly Staff and Charming Home, but Dim Rooms"
The staff was super friendly and always ready to help. They genuinely cared about finding the right fit for my Mom. The Home, although an old building, was well maintained with charming antique furnishings. The common area was spacious and inviting for games and TV. However, the resident rooms felt gloomy due to limited light. It felt like stepping back in time at my grandmother's house.

"Warm, Family-Operated Assisted Living with Comfortable Atmosphere"
Azalea Manor, run by a loving family, cares about everyone. Today, Barbara, the Charge Nurse, called to discuss my MIL’s needs. They always provide me with medication lists when we visit the doctor, ensuring we have what we need. The kitchen smells delicious, making even trips to lunch inviting. While not brand new, the facility is well-kept and cozy.

"Really liked the "home-like" atmosphere"
Really liked the “home-like” feel here. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and there’s a nice area for residents to visit outside. The building felt safe, and the price was fair. Rooms are already furnished, which makes moving in much easier. They don’t offer respite care right now, and there is a deposit required.

"Great value with helpful staff and unique bathing feature"
This facility has an all-inclusive fee structure at a competitive price, and it’s in a good location. A unique feature is the common bathing room where all residents receive baths from the nursing staff. Baths are scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays. Given the past issues with falls in bathrooms, this is definitely a positive aspect, though it might not work for everyone.

"Enjoyed Facility, but It Might Not Be Perfect for Mom"
I really enjoyed the facility, but it might not be the perfect place for my mom. She prefers more closet room and is accustomed to a more modern, high-end facility. I was really impressed by both the Director and the staff. If Mom's health takes a dip, I'd surely consider this place for her to live.

"Just okay but residents seemed uninvolved, felt like nursing home"
Alright, but residents weren't really involved. It gave off more of a nursing home vibe than that of an assisted living place. Despite having scheduled an appointment, neither the owner nor the business manager were available to meet me... Instead, the chef took me on a tour.
