"Mixed Feelings About Benton House Assisted Living Facility"

Benton House wasn't a great deal for what we needed. It was nice but not quite right. It seemed more focused on memory care than regular assisted living, which wasn't what we wanted for our loved one.

"Mixed experiences with leadership transitions, but hopeful about current improvements."

I liked the first group of leaders. The second team didn't impress me (they all left). I've heard the new team is excellent. Make sure to schedule follow-up meetings to show your concern for your loved one's care.

"Benton House offers inclusive care, needs more meal variety."

I recommend researching other assisted living places too. Benton House offers all-inclusive pricing, including care. The staff have been helpful with our family's questions and concerns. They serve three meals daily to residents. They could improve variety, especially with drinks.

"Feels like home with great food and helpful staff"

We chose Benton House of Covington because it felt very homey and not like an institution. The room sizes here are good. I have eaten here, and the food is great. They serve it restaurant-style, and it's chef-prepared from a menu with choices. My favorite part about the community so far is the staff's availability when you have questions or concerns. I would recommend it.

"Inconsistent Communication and Leadership at Benton House Assisted Living"

As a relative of a resident, Benton House often contacts me about things that aren't necessary for me to know, while they neglect to inform me about important matters. There have been too many changes in leadership over the last year, and the departure of staff has been hard on my family member.

My mom really liked this place because she could bring her dog. But it’s a bit too far—about 40 miles away.

"Dad’s Happy Place"

This place has been great for my father. The few times he’s been here, he’s felt happy and well-treated by the staff. I feel good knowing he enjoys it here. We’d recommend this community to any family needing day care for a loved one to check out this wonderful place.

"A Caring Community for Respite Care"

I used this community for my mom’s respite care for about a week. No complaints at all—I was pleased with the care she received. The food was very good, and the staff was friendly. Although Mom’s wheelchair limited her activities, there were plenty of options listed on the sheet. I recommend this community.

"Consider for loved ones friendly atmosphere, amenities, slight distance."

This place is pretty cool, and my family member was thinking about moving in here. The folks we met were really nice, and the place itself is really pleasant. They have some neat stuff to do, too. It's just a tad farther away than we wanted, though.

This community is amazing, and my sister is well taken care of here. She really enjoys it, and I'm very happy with her move. The staff is excellent—they do a great job looking after her and meeting her needs. Overall, it's been a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this community. It's working out well for us.

This is an amazing community, and my sister is in very good hands here. She really enjoys it, and I am very happy she moved here. The staff is excellent. "Great Care and Pleasant Environment"

I toured this community and was impressed. The dining room looked nice, and the meals seemed delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s a beautiful place that’s clean and comfortable, making it a great option for a loved one. I’d recommend families come take a tour to see the care here for themselves.

"Happy Mom, Great Care!"

We really like Benton House. They're doing great with my mom. She's mostly happy there. She has good and bad days, but it's mostly good. We're moving her to the memory care unit, and they're giving her the care we couldn't.

"Great activities and friendly staff in a clean community!"

The community has lots of fun activities all day and night. My mother-in-law will be joining the day program. I haven’t tried the food yet, but when we walked by the dining hall, it looked tasty, so I’d probably enjoy it. The staff are super friendly, helpful, and always ready to answer questions. The place is very clean and well-kept.

Things are alright there, but it’s a bit pricey. She worries about affording it long-term. She’ll stay until next year, but we might explore other choices. It’s okay.

"Benton House: Caring and Recommended"

I liked how they took care of my wife at Benton House. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my wife had a seizure and got hurt three days before leaving. They quickly told me and took her to Newton Medical Center for help. I'll use Benton House again for respite care and recommend it.

"Amazing staff, spotless facility, couldn't be happier!"

Things have been wonderful at Benton House! I can’t say enough good things. The staff is super friendly, professional, and supportive, and they take amazing care of everyone here. Both the aides and office staff are really helpful and easy to work with. The building is well-designed and always spotless. I have no complaints at all, and I’d highly recommend Benton House!

"Deeply Frustrated: Unsupervised Accident and Poor Communication"

One star - my mom fell under their care and there was zero communication as to how it happened. She had visible injuries, with swelling on her face and scrapes from her forehead to her upper lip. We haven't been back since it happened because nobody from the staff has followed up with us. There was no caregiver present during a scheduled activity, leaving an entertainer to pick my mom up from where she fell. Ideally, Alzheimer's patients should have a caregiver around all the time to prevent events like this from occurring.

They do a great job here! It's a really nice community, and I’d rate them highly in every way. The place looks good, the staff is friendly, and they take excellent care of the residents. I don’t have any complaints!

"Friendly staff but lacks in adequate healthcare"

All the people at this place were very kind and acted in a professional manner. The facility itself was very neat and looked appealing. I visited several when we were checking out choices and this one was certainly the best I came across. Although the care level was simply not enough. My relative sometimes had trouble breathing, and they were not properly equipped to handle these issues. More often than not, I found him lying flat on his back in bed, which was actually the worst position for him.

"Great assisted living facility, perfect for respite care!"

This place is really nice and has been open for a year. It's wonderful! My only concern is that they said they only have one room for respite care, so I need to check that with the main person. Other than that, this is definitely the place we want to use for respite care.

"High Ratings from My Cousin and Me"

My cousin and I give this facility high ratings. The Director guided us, and we met a couple of the residents on our tour. It's exactly where I'd want my mom to be, or even me! It's near family, which is a plus. The booklet answered most questions, but we still have a few to call about. Very new place. I will decide after touring a few more facilities. We have another tour with lunch set up with my mom, aunt, and cousin. Still the best I've found so far. Hoping to move my mom here before the end of the year if rooms are available.

"Carpeted—might be hard for wheelchairs. Quiet and well-equipped."

The carpet might be tough for wheelchairs. It has a quiet dining area. Each unit has a big private bathroom and a kitchenette. There’s a large shared kitchen near the dining room. You could set up private therapy for 3 days a week. They have openings for the deluxe suite. There’s a hospital bed that was donated and might be available.
