"Assisted Living Tour Disappointing; Rooms Dark with Roach Feces"
We had a tour with a nurse, which felt weird. The tour felt hurried. The rooms we saw looked dim, and we spotted roach poop in one shower. It made us think they didn't have enough staff. We did appreciate the benches in the showers and the plants outside.

"Great Choice for My Husband's Care"
When I talked to my husband's doctor and nurse about putting him in a new place, they asked which community I was thinking about. When I said this one, they were really happy. That made me feel good about my decision. My husband really likes it here. He likes the staff—they're all really nice. He spends time with other people living here, which is important to him. And he really enjoys the food—he eats everything on his plate at every meal. The place is always clean and taken care of. It was a good decision to bring him here.

"Dirty Conditions Persist Under New Manager"
Dirty! Especially since the arrival of the new manager. The rooms are NEVER checked! Bathrooms are always grimy, floors are unclean, dust keeps collecting, it's appalling! I wouldn't advise anyone to try it.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
My mom stayed at this place briefly, and it was just okay. The community looks clean and pleasant, but I worried about her personal care. She wore the same clothes I left her in, and it seemed like they didn’t give her a shower during her stay. Overall, it’s a decent community with friendly folks.

"Decent Center, But Mom's Personal Hygiene Was Neglected"
My mom stayed at this center for a brief visit, and it was alright. The place is pretty neat, both the look and cleanliness are impressive. A good number of the staff were nice. However, I did worry about how well they cared for my mother personally. She wore the same clothes as the day I left her. It also appeared as if she wasn't given a shower throughout her stay. Apart from these issues, it's a decent place filled with good-hearted people.

"Good care for basic needs, not for advanced dementia"
Our experience at Benton House of Douglasville was overall good. They provide excellent care but aren't equipped for advanced dementia/Alzheimer's.

"Great for Basic Care Needs"
Our experience with Benton House of Douglasville was good overall. For the level of care they provide, I think they do an excellent job. However, since they can't handle higher levels of dementia/Alzheimer's care, we moved my loved one to a facility that can. That being said, I highly recommend Benton House to any family not needing higher-end care. They do a fabulous job!

"Satisfied Mom at Benton House"
My mom is really happy at The Benton House. If we ever have a problem, which isn't often, they fix it quickly. I wish all the caregivers were experienced and followed the same rules. But I understand it's hard with so many different people. The ones who spend time with her and do a great job are truly amazing! I love that everyone there always has a smile. All the staff and bosses are really friendly and easy to talk to.

"Mixed experience: great staff, but management must improve quality control!"
The front desk staff is amazing. However, some staff are unkind to residents. Mom's leaving soon. She's better now and can go out alone. But some staff aren't nice, and they often lack basic supplies. Mom once almost took someone else's medicine. Luckily, she noticed and didn't take it. Also, her laundry sometimes gets mixed up with someone else's. The place looks stunning, but the bosses need to take action on these issues.

"Small, Caring Community with Activities"
This place is small, so it feels cozy and caring. The staff is understanding when things go wrong. The food is decent, and my mom enjoys it. They’ve got a couple of outdoor spots for residents, plus bingo and lots of activities on the calendar.

" "Emergency Visits And Negligence Ruin Stay at Benton House""
Horrible Experience! My mom had a respite stay there while my family and I went on vacation. She ended up in the emergency room twice, within 7 hours due to falls. Supposedly, she fell out of bed, which was strange because she had never fallen out of bed before. We suspected something was off because of her injuries. We specifically instructed them to assist her when standing and to stay nearby when she used her walker. For nearly 12 years, my sister and I cared for our mom, during which she perhaps fell 2-3 times. To top it all, she was so drenched in urine when she got to the hospital that the staff remarked, 'Benton House really needs to step it up.'. They only used 17 pads during her 6-day stay. Moreover, they completely failed to communicate with us when mom was taken to the hospital both times. As a result, we had to abruptly end our vacation and rush back to Atlanta to get mom out of there. Clearly, just like you can't judge a book by its cover, you can't judge Benton House by its exterior. I would advise against trusting your loved ones to Benton House.

"Complicated"
t's a bit complicated. When my in-laws checked in, the room was disappointing—I'd give it a 1. However, the services and responsiveness were better, earning a 5. Unfortunately, nothing was set up for them, and we spent hours trying to get things sorted. The lack of availability was frustrating. Overall, not impressed for what we paid. Their stay was only 10 days.
