"Affordable, Friendly Assisted Living with Activities!"

The place has had some staff changes, but that’s common everywhere nowadays. It’s clean and located in a nice neighborhood. Plus, it’s one of the most affordable communities around. They offer activities like bingo, church services, and music for residents. My loved one has made friends with both staff and other residents. I’d definitely recommend this community to others.

"Caring Staff and Happy Residents"

I think this community is great for loved ones. The staff is really nice, and the caregivers are attentive to my loved one's needs. My loved one seems happy here, even though some activities have been reduced due to the pandemic.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"

The people who work there are really nice and always remember us when we visit. But we're not happy about how they keep the residents' keys. They just leave them in a basket by the front door, where anyone could take them. We're not sure if they're short on kitchen staff, but it takes a long time to get meals now, and they don't taste as good as they used to. Our family member isn't happy with that or with the activities in the evening. We wish they had more things to do.

"Double-billed and No Help in Time of Crisis"

My mom lived in this assisted living facility twice, as we were hoping it would be a good fit for her. Both times, she ended up in the hospital. Hospital staff informed us that her care needs were too high for the facility to handle and her return was not possible. We relocated her to a new home, but both times, this facility charged us for time spent after she had already moved out, which contradicted the agreement in our contract. They even passed our case onto a debt collections agency demanding payment for the period after she had left. The situation was already tense, and this just added more pressure. It felt like we were being exploited.

"No beds, missed tour. Disappointing for us, good for them."

The place didn't have any open beds, like the person named said. It's okay for them since they're full, but it's a bummer for us. We couldn't even take a tour.

"Missed Appointment Ruins Initial Perception of Facility"

It seemed pretty, but nobody came to our meeting. That definitely didn't make a great first impression.

"Wonderful Place with Friendly Staff and Spacious Apartments"

This place has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The setting is beautiful, and the studio apartment was spacious and nicely furnished.

"Loved One Thrived at Benton House Assisted Living"

I've brought my loved one to Benton House sometimes for short breaks, and overall, I think it's a really good place. I did notice that the prices have gone up, and it cost more the last time he stayed. But the place is nice and clean, the staff is helpful, and he ate well while he was there. He even gained weight during his visit! They have lots of activities like games and exercises, and I like that it's close to our home.

"Welcoming Community with Helpful Staff"

I've taken my loved one to Benton House sometimes for a break, and overall, I think it's a really good place. I did notice that the prices went up, and it was more expensive last time. But, the place is neat and tidy, the staff is friendly, and he ate well there. He actually gained weight during his visit! They have lots of fun activities like games and exercises, and I like that it's close to our home.

"The best community we found for respite care"

The staff was nice, patient, and understanding during my loved one’s short stay. The food looked good, and they have activities every day. They keep the place clean, and it feels more like a community than other places we visited. I’d recommend this community for a respite stay.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Staffing and Training"

This place is okay if you don't need much help. But if you're sick or have Alzheimer's, don't come here. The workers aren't trained and there aren't enough of them. Plus, it's too expensive.

""Insufficiently Staffed and Overpriced Facility Lacks Qualified Staff""

This spot is okay if you don't require a lot of help - but it's not fit for those with medical problems or if you're in the middle or advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease. The personnel here lack professional qualifications and there aren't enough of them. The staff doesn't receive proper training. It's expensive as well.

"Care for a Loved One"

We toured this community for a family member. The staff were nice and caring and answered my questions. I recommend this community for good care. It wasn't in the area we were looking for at the time. It's a good value for the care, meals, and activities.

"A caring community with excellent food and activities"

I really like this nice community. The staff is great and very caring. The food here is outstanding, and I enjoyed taking part in activities with the other residents. I would definitely recommend this place to other families because of the excellent care and good value they offer.

"Unsatisfactory Care Led To A Necessary Move"

I felt like the staff wasn't qualified to handle someone with health issues. They didn't seem to check on my relative a lot. They didn't help him out with his personal stuff. He got thinner and they didn't keep him busy while he stayed there. One of the caregivers lied to me, saying they just visited him, but I found him sick in his room and I knew they hadn't been in for a while. We moved him out due to what I believe was lack of attention.

"Mother's Happy Stay: Nice Community with Caring Staff"

My mom's no longer here, moved closer to family. This place was nice. We liked what they did for us. I felt she was safe, getting good care. The staff was friendly. It was a good experience, but she wanted to be nearer family. I'd suggest this community.

My friend stays here. The staff answered all my questions about her care. They offer activities for those interested. They pay close attention to her needs, ensuring she takes the right medication. I'm confident she's receiving excellent care here. It's clean and well-maintained. Families would be pleased with both the cost and the care provided for their loved one.

"It Was A Good Respite Stay"

My wife stayed here for a week for a respite stay. She liked the atmosphere, and everything went well. The staff did their best, and she enjoyed most of her meals, except for the soup. The facility was clean. I'd recommend it.

"Great Care at Benton House of Sugar Hill"

My dad stayed at Benton House of Sugar Hill, GA for less than a month because of his declining health. During that time, we found the staff and administration to be professional, caring, warm, and friendly. He often said how much he appreciated the care he received. The food was delicious and nutritious. Since my dad was diabetic, the staff quickly changed his diet to fit his needs. There were many different activities available, but his limited mobility stopped him from joining in most of them. However, he really enjoyed church on Sundays.

"Amazing staff and beautiful facility!"

My dad has lived in the Memory Care unit at Benton House of Sugar Hill for about a month now. My siblings and I looked at many places before choosing Benton House, and we are very impressed with the beautiful facility. But what we really love is the staff! They have all been fantastic!

"Poor Management and Unsatisfied Residents at Benton House"

Benton House of Sugar Hill, Georgia, is not a good place for your loved ones. The management is poor and doesn't acknowledge the hard work their resident assistants put in. They constantly hire new employees, but none of them stick around. They practice discrimination and favoritism. Plus, the residents in assisted living don't like the executive director.

"Major staff changes lead to cold, uncaring environment at Benton."

My mom was at Benton House of Sugar Hill for almost 4 years. The staff was great, treating her with politeness and kindness. She had to transfer to the memory care part after a year. But in the summer of 2015, everything turned sour. They replaced the whole nursing team and the memory care director. Before this, the nurses were loving, gentle, and concerned for her wellbeing. With the new team, everything was now flipped. When questioning about mom's condition, obtaining a meaningful answer was a rarity. The new nurses and the head of memory care were cold and all business. Finally, my mom had a stroke which led to her passing. When I returned to collect her items, a nurse informed me that all the aides were deeply upset over Mom's death. However, she added how she stopped allowing the deaths or sickness of residents to disturb her after being on the job for over a year. This was an extremely hurtful comment to someone who just lost their mom. The new staff might be effective and professional, yet they lack a real sense of compassion or empathy.

"Great place for memory care!"

I have used Benton House for daycare for my mom with dementia, and I loved it. They were great with her and even gave her a manicure in the memory care unit! If I could afford it, I would have her there full-time. Jena is such a blessing to work with! Thank you!

"Assisted Living Experience: Pleasant with Minor Medication Scheduling Hiccups"

I'm glad with my experience here. It's taking a bit long to figure out the medicine times. But overall, it's good. The folks here are nice and good at keeping in touch with me.

""Fooled by Assisted Living Facility, Dad Ends Up in Hospital""

My dad went there on a 30-day trial basis; I was hopeful it'd be a good place for him. But when the 30 days were up, he ended up hospitalized. He'd lost 40 pounds, and we didn't hear about it from the place, a caseworker called us. I told him, a worker there, I saw my dad losing weight, but he denied it. My dad has no teeth, and I'd asked them to make his food easy to eat, but they didn't. My dad would stay in his room, becoming a recluse and stopped participating. They hardly tried to get him up for meals, only at night. He often had just one meal a day only if he could manage to eat what they gave him. I'd paid $5,600 for the trial and the following month, and I wanted a refund. I tried to get in touch with him, but he dodged my calls. They only bathed him once during his stay. I found out he had a problem with his roommate. But they denied any fights happened, but they were not telling the truth. The hospital and his caregivers confirmed he got into a fight. I believe I deserve a refund. I was deceived. The place looked clean and orderly, and the food presented well. The caregivers were kind, but NOT THE MANAGEMENT!

"Great place with friendly staff!"

Benton House was a great place, even for a short time. They made everything easy, and the staff were really friendly. I believe they would have cared for my loved one well.

"A Great Place for Mom's Care and Social Life!"

This was a big decision for my family. We were worried about our mom's care and how she would socialize. But we don't have to worry anymore! She didn’t want to leave her home, but she is adjusting really well. She doesn't always go out, but there are weekly outings and planned activities that help her stay on a regular routine, which she didn’t have before. I’ve eaten meals here, and they are tasty and healthy.

"Mom Happier Than Ever"

Excellent facility for your loved ones. My mom is now thriving thanks to the socialization, activities, and great care she is getting. I wish I had moved her here first. It's a night and day difference from where she lived before. She is happier than ever.

"Friendly and Caring Environment!"

We're happy with our experience at Benton House of Sugar Hill so far! The staff is friendly, and the facility is clean and well-maintained. They take good care of the residents. One suggestion would be to offer more afternoon activities. Our loved one doesn't usually go out until later, and there isn't much happening by then.

"Good Care with Room for Improvement"

Benton House took good care of our family member. It looked nice, and the caregivers were friendly and professional. We had some problems though. When our family member got there, the response times for the emergency buttons were too slow. But, when we talked about it, they got better. The food also needed to get better.

"Benton House Has Been Truly..."

Benton House has been truly life-saving for my Dad. These last 3 weeks have turned his life around physically and emotionally. WOW! I greatly appreciate their step-down program and how well they've prepared Dad to possibly go home. Great place and amazing staff!

"Great help, waiting for a call back."

Jenna was very helpful and listened well. I waited for her to call me back about mom's pricing, as they won't allow my sister due to her age.

"Amazing care and support for Dad!"

We put Dad in the Step-Down program at Benton House, and it has been a great place. He is receiving excellent and friendly care from the staff, who are very compassionate. He has only been there just over a week, but he has made good progress in his mobility. He can walk more with his walker and uses the wheelchair less for short distances. The office staff and nurses are very friendly and helpful. Dad has been able to regain his dignity as he works on being more self-sufficient and gaining strength. Thanks so much for the excellent care!

I toured this community while searching for care options for my loved one. I checked out many places in the area and was really impressed by all of them. This wasn’t the one I chose, but I still liked what I saw here. The care seemed great, and there were lots of fun activities. The facility was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

"Great Care and Communication"

We were very pleased with the service here. They took great care of my loved one! Communication was excellent, it was always easy to get in touch with them, and they quickly contacted us if any issues arose. The staff were all very friendly, and the facility was well kept and clean. They did a good job with the food. The only complaint was that the laundry service often mixed up the residents' clothes.

"Affordable, Handy Assisted Living with Kitchen, Near Publix"

Pretty cool place. Cheaper than most at $3102.50 each month, which comes out to $102 daily. That's for first-level help and medicine ($85 for a studio kind of place). Super handy, right near Publix on Suwanee Dam Road. Has its own kitchen, but there's a $2,000 down payment.

"Great staff, active residents, nice facility!"

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was nice. The best part was that all the residents were active and involved. The memory care area was the most lively one I’ve seen. The only downside is there isn’t independent living here.

"Perfect Room with a Patio in a Lovely Facility!"

I really like this facility; it has great floor plans. I found a perfect room with a patio that opens to an enclosed courtyard. The path through the courtyard goes right to the dining room. My mom is going to love it here, and it's cheaper than her current place!

Beautiful and less than two years old. It has a separate memory care wing with a nice courtyard where residents can walk a small loop under direct supervision.
