"Unsatisfactory Care and Poor Communication at Facility"

The person in charge of money won’t return my calls or talk to me. The kind of care they said they would give isn’t what my family member is getting. It seems like the workers aren’t taught right, or they just don’t do what they should. The place was just taken over by Pruitt, so it’s hard to say what’s going to change. I wouldn’t tell other people to use this place.

"Warm and Caring Assisted Living: Recommended for Families"

Brighton Gardens of Buckhead is a friendly and supportive place. From our experience, we'd recommend it to other families needing a home for loved ones.

"Assisted Living Community Unprepared Upon Arrival, Room Dirty"

The Brighton Gardens community was not ready upon our arrival. The room was dirty, and despite my call the day before and talking with the executive director in the afternoon, no preparations were made.

"Quality Assisted Living Facility with Room for Improvement"

This facility has a nice atmosphere that my loved one enjoys. The staff get along well with her, and she stays outgoing. Meals were crucial for us, and they serve excellent food with lots of variety. Communication with us could be faster but is mostly good. Maintenance, nursing, and administration are all quite competent. The activities director is outstanding and plans fun outings. Medication management can be expensive with their pharmacy, but you can choose your own. Monthly costs can vary, which can be a bit tricky, but overall, it's a good value. Building relationships with the staff is key to success here. In summary, this place suits my loved one well, and I'd recommend it.

"Caring Staff and Excellent Care"

The staff is super friendly and helpful. They take excellent care of my mom.

"Dedicated Staff and Smooth Transition"

They made everything easier. They’re caring and helpful, especially with my mom’s room. She raves about their morning exercise class and enjoys board games during my visits. Movie nights, happy hours, and trips to Target keep residents engaged. Every holiday brings themed events, like the Fourth of July BBQ and Mother’s Day brunch with mimosas. Even an Elvis night! My mom, who rarely tries new things, ended up here and is still happy.

"Inconsistent Care at Assisted Living Facility"

It's a good place if you're mostly independent, able to walk or use a wheelchair. But if you're somewhere in between, the care can be hit or miss. Response times vary from 5 minutes to 4 hours.

"Top Choice for Us!"

I really liked Brighton Gardens of Buckhead. They were one of our top choices when we had to decide.

"Friendly Staff, Enjoyable Meals, Some Delays"

Our experience has been good overall, but sometimes they’re short-staffed. Communication and response time can be a bit slow due to worker shortages. Still, the staff is super nice and trying their best. The dining service is fine, and our loved one enjoys the meals.

"Good care, but communication needs work"

Their communication isn't great - they don't talk to us much and there have been some mix-ups. But the care is good overall, and the facility is in good condition.

"Convenient Assisted Living with Room for Improvement"

I recommend checking out different places to find what suits you best. For us, Brighton Gardens is conveniently close to my home. The staff and caregivers are friendly, and the facility is well-maintained. They handle cleanliness and laundry efficiently. However, having a doctor visit regularly for thorough patient check-ups would be beneficial. Additionally, I'd like to see more activities on the memory care side.

"Lively and Friendly Assisted Living Community"

We visited Brighton Gardens, and it felt nice there. The community was friendly, and the staff seemed capable. It was a lively and cheerful place. However, the location might be too busy for my loved one.

"Great Place with Kind Staff"

The staff here are really kind. Everyone I’ve met is really nice, but I think they could use a little more help. The community is clean, and the grounds are well taken care of. My loved one likes the food and the activities. Overall, it has been a good experience, and I would recommend this place.

I am happy with the care my friend is getting. The staff is nice and friendly. The place is clean. They have fun activities for him. The food is good and has a lot of choices. It feels good here, and the other residents seem happy. I highly recommend this place for its care and value.

"First Care Placement"

I'm new to assisted living searches and didn't want to begin from scratch. 'A Place for Mom' gave me a great head start. Brighton Gardens met all my needs with professionalism and kindness. They can adjust as my father improves. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

"Doing Well Amid Challenges"

Everything's going fine. The place is doing its best given the situation. My stepfather, who has dementia, is struggling with the change. The staff seems to be doing well so far.

Everything seems good so far. The place is clean, and the staff is friendly. We haven't had any big problems with food or activities. However, there might be billing issues.

"Nice place, not the best fit for us"

I visited this place while searching for care options for a loved one. The facility was clean and well-maintained, and the staff I met were friendly and professional. However, the layout and the available room wouldn't have worked for my loved one. Her room would have been at the end of a long hallway, and the walk to the elevator might have discouraged her from leaving her room often. We chose a different community, but I would have considered this place as an option.

"A great pick for the right person."

I visited Brighton Gardens several times. The staff is really friendly, and the director is full of energy. The place is lively, especially with the pair of dogs running around. However, the atmosphere can get a little chaotic. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for my mom. Overall, it's the most fun-loving place we toured in Atlanta. Great location in Buckhead.

"Inadequate Training for Medication Changes: Communication Issues Arise"

Having trouble talking to the nurse and head of memory care. They don't understand how to look after the patients or their families, especially when a change of medication is needed.

"Good Place, but Staff Turnover and Rates Were Issues"

I didn't choose this place because their rates weren't as good, and there was some staff turnover. The staff didn't stay long. Also, the location wasn't as convenient for me. The place I chose was easier to get to.

"Needs updates, understaffed, but happy loved one."

This place has some things that need fixing. The hallway carpet has rips in it that could make someone trip. They need more staff because there's too much to do. I feel like I'm paying for better care, but it's not happening. Sometimes, getting medication takes so long you miss breakfast. The staff is friendly but overwhelmed. They need more help. Not all the planned activities happen. The food and location are good. My loved one is happy here and likes the staff and community. Overall, it's a pretty good place, but it has its issues.

"Mixed Feelings: Great staff and diversity, Concerns over Maintenance Issues"

I had a good time checking out this place. There were people of all different ages, health conditions, and races. The top boss, He is kinda new but still seems fired up about his job. The food schedule isn't super strict and meal times seemed fun for folks eating when I was there. This place was just as good as the other two I liked most, Atria of Buckhead and Merrill Gardens at Dunwoody. But there were a couple things that bothered me. First, the carpet. It was clearly dirty with what he said were wine stains. He told me the carpets hadn't been taken care of properly before. For me, a visitor looking for a good place for my dad, this seemed sloppy and made me worry about what other maintenance stuff might not be getting done. Second, there were several rooms that had nobody in them and were a mess. These rooms could have caused someone to trip, they weren't locked, and one didn't even have a doorknob. I worry about what could happen if a resident got hurt there. I was told that the building was quite empty because of renovations that had happened, but I don't get why the empty rooms had not been cleaned and fixed up yet. He also shared how this place has more caregivers per resident than what's required by law. But I'm wondering if they are slacking off on maintenance to make up for that. I like this place overall, but I wouldn't feel okay choosing it for my dad in its current state. I was reassured that the carpet would be cleaned or replaced soon, but even that small wait doesn't make much sense to me.

"So far so good."

We switched my mom from another assisted living place due to poor communication and lack of detail. We hope this facility, with better corporate structure and systems, will keep us informed about any changes. Each facility varies, depending on leadership (the new Executive Director) and staff attention to detail. A key factor in our decision was that Georgia's healthcare regulations for assisted living are changing, and we're confident that even though this place is currently categorized as a personal care home, it will soon have an assisted living license. This means our mom can stay here longer. Only time will tell. Fingers crossed!
