"Good Cleanliness, But Inconsistent Care"
My family member lives at Legacy Ridge at Woodstock. Overall, it's been okay. The place is really clean, which is nice. We chose it because we needed more help, and the care services are alright. But sometimes, when we press the emergency button, they don't respond quickly. The staff is friendly, but there aren't enough of them around. The food is tasty, and there are good activities for the cost.

"Unmet Promises at Assisted Living Facility"
Broken promises were disappointing. We chose this community based on location and promises, but they need to have more helpful staff and avoid making unfulfilled food promises.

"Legacy Ridge: Disorganized with Subpar Care"
Legacy Ridge at Woodstock seemed pretty messy to me. The care they gave wasn’t really great. I wouldn’t suggest going there because our family didn’t have a good time.

"Substandard care, thefts, and unaddressed issues at assisted living facility."
Theft and poor medication management are two major problems I've observed at this assisted living facility, despite reporting them. The cleaning isn't up to par and I'm seriously worried about the safety and security here. There are way too many issues to mention everything in one go. There are some excellent workers here, but the countless hazards overshadow their efforts. When my mom first moved in, the staff was good - they worked together, took good care of her, and treated us like family. However, things went downhill since a new Executive Director and joined early in the summer of 2022. We've even brought these issues up to the Regional Director and sent documentation to the CEO, COO, and VP of Operations, but still nothing has been fixed.

"Assisted Living Tour Feedback"
Our family visited in person. It was nice but too far away. The facility has multiple stories; we preferred all one level.

"Needs Improvement: Brookdale Woodstock Falls Short"
My mom initially came here for assisted living and did okay because she required little help from the staff. I visited her 4-7 times a week during her stay and regularly ran bingo games on Saturdays, making me a familiar face to many residents and staff. It's from this close involvement and observation that I can provide this genuine review of Brookdale Woodstock. I found the Executive Director mostly unhelpful. While some staff were compassionate and went above and beyond, most seemed uninvested. When my mom's condition required memory care, it became clear this wasn't the right place for her. The memory care staff seemed detached and minimally involved, and my mom's days there seemed to worsen her condition cognitively. The food quality was also subpar. My mom often complained about it, and I wouldn't have chosen to eat it myself. My mom has stayed at three other similar places, and Brookdale ranks near the bottom. I wouldn't recommend it for both assisted living and memory care. If I could go back a year ago, I would discourage my past self from moving my mom into Brookdale Woodstock.

"My Other Option"
The tour was good. We liked the people; they were all nice. It had everything we were interested in. The common areas were nice, and we saw some good activities. It was our other option, but we felt it wasn't the right place.

"Happy With My Dad's Move to This Community"
My father’s move to this community has been great so far. They are taking good care of him and meeting his needs. I feel it’s a safe and good place. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there are fun activities for everyone. The meals are good too I’ve tried some myself. Overall, I’m happy with his move here and would recommend it.

"Unimpressed with Brookdale: Lack of Care and Facility Maintenance"
I wasn't impressed at all with my visit to Brookdale Woodstock. I didn't see any caregivers around. Even before the tour started, I had to ask a worker who was washing dishes to help one of the residents. Awful! The studio and deluxe studio rooms looked okay. But overall, the place is pretty old and there wasn't much happening. The elevator made too much noise that obviously needs fixing. Also, there's no open green area for people to enjoy their time outside.

"Great Community and Activities!"
My loved one has really adjusted well to this community. She can’t stop saying how good the food is and loves spending time with the other residents. I appreciate the many activities they offer and the fun field trips throughout the week. It’s nice to see her staying active and involved in different events. I also noticed how much healthier she looks since moving here; she has gained weight and feels much better.

"Inconsistent Service; Mom Needs More Care; Some Staff Turnover"
My mom fell twice in two days, so I thought she needed more help. But they wanted to charge me more for extra assistance. Some people really care about my mom here. When we first came, it was awesome with [Removed], but since Brookdale took over, there have been a lot of staff changes. We had some good times, but there were just too many changes.

"Warm, Caring Community with Great Activities and Food"
This is a smaller, more friendly community. My sister-in-law has adjusted really well here. They keep everything clean and looking nice. The staff is great; they take good care of her. She’s trying out new activities like arts and crafts, outings, and walking trips. She really enjoys the food, too. Even though it's an older facility, it's very nice. She gets the attention she needs. I would definitely recommend it.

"Unsatisfactory Care and Services at Brookdale in Woodstock"
I had visited Brookdale in Woodstock because I have a family friend there, and I was looking for an assisted living place for my Aunt. I was not pleased with what I saw. They have "happy hour" and "wine parties", which seemed ridiculous to me since most of the residents are in their late 70's and 80's. It’s not recommended for seniors to mix alcohol with their medication. This could be a potential legal issue. The food quality wasn't good either, it was not nutritionally balanced. Carl, the chef, should consider some training or getting a cookbook so he can plan better meals. I've seen shrimp scampi with noodles and red bean and rice, and soup. And there was a turkey pot pie that had no turkey, just big lima beans and veggies. The food appears to be made with the same spice, and it’s downright awful. They have a big turnover in staff so they’re usually understaffed. Despite the high costs, it didn't seem like resident satisfaction was a top priority. There’s not a lot of activities for residents, and a doctor who only spends like 5 minutes checking blood pressure and heart rates charges $175 per visit! I'm going to keep looking for a place that really cares about the well-being of the residents! The condition of this place was disappointing to me. It's got a lot to improve on! I hope the admin posts my honest review.

I visited this place when we were considering care for a family member. The facility was clean, and the staff were friendly and professional. Although we chose a different community, all the Brookdale properties in Woodstock looked nice.

"Great Care and Helpful Staff at Brookdale Woodstock"
I recently had to move my father into an assisted living facility for memory care. The staff at Brookdale Woodstock were incredibly helpful and kind. They made the whole process really easy. The building is a bit older than some, but it’s clean and well-kept. My father is getting great care at Brookdale Woodstock.

"Warm and Friendly Assisted Living Experience"
Overall, my experience has been great. There were a few hiccups with communication, but the place is well-kept. The staff is friendly and supportive, especially Nurse . and others like theme. Despite being short-staffed, they're doing their best. ShaVanda, the salesperson, was understanding and accommodating. She genuinely cares about residents' comfort, not just profits. It's a cozy place where people mingle and socialize. I'm quite content with my choice.

"Emeritus at Woodstock Estates - Excellent Care and Support"
The staff at Emeritus at Woodstock Estates have been wonderful to work with. They were helpful from the first meeting with my father-in-law all the way through his move-in process. Our family has been very happy with everything about Emeritus. Setting up his prescriptions was easy, and they explained the costs and what to expect clearly. I would definitely recommend Emeritus at Woodstock Estates!

"Friendly and Well-Cared-For Community"
We checked out this place when we were looking for a home for our loved one. It was one of the two Emeritus facilities we visited, and both looked really nice. This one was two stories, and we wanted to avoid that to make sure our loved one could get around easily. During our visit, everyone was super friendly, and the residents seemed happy and well taken care of.

"Handrails, Small Showers, Quiet, Pets Allowed: Assisted Living Facility"
This place has handrails along halls for the residents. The showers are on the smaller side. It's quite silent here, without many staff in view, which might have to do with the time. Residents have trackers that keep their location in check everywhere they go. The air conditioning is independently manageable in every room. If you have pets, they're welcome, but just be aware of potential allergies. Licensed practical nurses on the site.
