"Improvements Needed at Assisted Living Facility"

My mom has been at the facility for 2 months. Due to high turnover, it seems the organization, retraining, and structure need improvement. When my mom was released from the hospital, there was no one answering the phones, and the hospital couldn't communicate the release information. When I arrived with my mom, everything seemed fine, but I had to roll her in on an office chair. Later, I learned that the facility doesn't provide wheelchair service—you have to bring your own. I hope things improve for my mom's sake; I don't want to move her again. The staff seems nice, but that doesn't excuse the insecurity I feel about other errors.

"Caring Staff at Oaks at Stockbridge Looks Out for Loved Ones"

My family member was assessed and sent to Oaks at Stockbridge. The people who work there are really nice, and they always try to do what’s right for your loved one.

I liked this community, but the other one fit my loved one's budget better.

"Mixed Review of Assisted Living Facility"

Clean hallways, some care issues, pricey meds, limited food options.

"A Visit"

This place is tidy, with pleasant outdoor seating. The folks we met were friendly, and the community is well-maintained. They offer nice amenities.

"My Loved One Adjusted Well and Feels Safe Here"

My loved one is doing really well here, and he likes it a lot. He’s adjusted nicely, and I’m very happy about it. The staff is wonderful and always friendly, which makes me feel good knowing he’s in great hands. He’s even joined in on an outing outside the community and enjoys the activities they have. The food is good, and he really likes the meals. I know he’s safe and in a good place. I’d highly recommend this community.

"Dogwood Forest: Pretty but Poorly Managed and Expensive"

Communication at Dogwood Forest Falls Short, Unexpected Injuries and Sudden Price Increases." Dogwood Forest sucks at talking between shifts. My spouse who has really bad dementia got hurt and no one could tell me why. When I asked for a meeting to talk about these injuries, nobody knew what happened. At that same meeting, they bumped up the price for care so high I had to move him somewhere else. Dogwood may look pretty and have nice commercials, but they really only care about the money. I wouldn't tell anyone to put their loved one with memory issues in Dogwood's care.

"Caring and Trustworthy Assisted Living Community"

My mom has Dementia, so we moved her to Dogwood Forest of Stockbridge. It took some time for her to get used to it, but she’s adjusting well now. They take good care of her physical needs. If I didn't like it, didn't trust them, or wasn't satisfied with the place, my mom wouldn't be there.

"Daddy is content in assisted living"

We really like Dogwood Forest of Stockbridge/Eagles Landing. My dad is happy there. He has friends, and more visitors than when he lived at home. We’re working through some issues with his daily care, but overall, we’re pleased. The staff knows his needs and encourages him to participate in activities. It’s a relief for me.

"Flexible Room Rates in a Great Facility"

It’s a great place, and they’re willing to work with us on a semi-private room rate.

"Don't Fall for This. Keep Searching."

This place suffers from regular staff changes, poor communication, and a total lack of attention to the essential requirements for running a home care facility. They seem to not understand the vital responsibility of caring for someone's life, health, laughter, safety, comfort, and peace- especially when it comes to people needing memory care, like a loved one. Regrettably, this place is no different from the expensive alternatives found in Atlanta, including Buckhead, Midtown, etc. The unchanging factor you can expect from this place is unprofessionalism, with the blame game always landing on the resident or their family. In Georgia, you have the legal right to record any conversation you're involved in. I advise you to do this. Never forget that the promises given about care and costs are fickle and changeable depending on who you talk to and when. There are so many better choices in and around Atlanta, with new facilities opening frequently. It might be hard work, but trust me, it's better to keep looking for the right place.

"Wonderful care in a clean, friendly environment!"

Overall, they’ve done a great job here! The facility is always clean and well-kept, and the care provided is excellent. The staff is very friendly, professional, and caring, and they take great care of the residents. One thing I would like to see improved is having more activities for the memory care patients. It seems like they spend more time sitting around compared to the lower care residents.

"A nice place with respectful staff!"

We're really happy with this community! It looks great, and the staff is super friendly. They are caring and kind, and they respect the residents' privacy. After visiting many places where caregivers walked into rooms without knocking, it was nice to find a place that treats residents with respect.

"Very Nice, Followed Up Many Times"

Very nice and followed up many times. They tried everything they could to help. The only option we could afford was a shared room, which wouldn't work for my mother.

"Kathy showed me a lovely place for Mom!"

Kathy showed me around, and it’s a lovely place. I can see Mom living comfortably there, but we have a lot to do to clean out her home in PA and move her here. The price is high, and we would need to use all of her VA benefits and any other help we can find to cover the cost. Still, it’s a beautiful, comfortable, and well-run place for Mom.

"Very clean, helpful staff, nice spaces, good pricing options."

The facility was very clean and well-maintained. The staff was really helpful. I liked the Bristol Café, which had snacks available anytime, and the upstairs patio/balcony. There was a small outdoor space in the back. Most residents seemed to stay around the front patio. It seemed like they might work with you on the price and even offer some free promotions on the upfront cost of $2000. The layout was a bit confusing at first, but you’d get used to it.

"Nice place, friendly staff, but room too small for two."

The facility was really nice. The staff was both professional and friendly. They only had one room available, but I thought it was too small for two people. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any other rooms.

"Okay spot. Snack bar and TV available. Dog in shared spaces."

It's okay. There's a snack bar open all the time. You have a TV in your room. There's a pet dog in the shared spaces.

We’re really impressed with Dogwood Forest of Stockbridge! It’s definitely one of our favorites. The care providers were friendly, helpful, and seemed well-trained. The facility was always clean, with deep cleanings done every week. The tour guide was enthusiastic, honest, and really knew their stuff. Overall, it’s a clear 5-star community.
