"Sadly, this place isn't up to par"
We've taken my parent out of this facility. ONLY if there are serious changes in management, might we consider bringing our loved one back. This place has SO MANY PROBLEMS that I can't be at ease if Dad stays here.

"Do Your Homework Before Trusting Assisted Living Facilities"
It's laughable to read these reviews, because who's to say the positive feedback isn't written by employees or even the head of the place? I've heard mixed things about this assisted living facility. Before choosing a place for my family, I’d cross-check with state records. They're public, showing any complaints lodged. It's heartbreaking. It seems more like a game on here rather than truly helping families. I just hope people are prioritizing the needs of the residents over their self-interest. If you can't trust the caregivers for your family, who can you trust? I admire those who work these jobs for the right reasons. But before I decide to place my dad here, or anywhere, I'll do thorough research.

"Oxton Place: A Blessing for My Family and My Mom"
My mom has been living at Oxton Place for over a year, and she’s really happy there. She never talks about going home and is always smiling when we visit, which is almost every day. We come at different times and always see the staff giving great care. The Executive Director is often around, even late at night or on weekends. For example, she stayed there all night during a recent snowstorm. It’s clear she cares deeply about the residents and makes families feel at ease. Some of the negative reviews might be from upset employees or family members. Check out the full picture before deciding against Oxton Place. It’s been a blessing for us!

"From a Happy Family Member's Perspective"
My mom has lived at Oxton Place for over a year, and she’s really happy there. She never talks about wanting to go home and is always smiling when we visit, which is almost every day. We visit at different times, and we always see the staff giving great care. The Executive Director is also always around, even late at night and on weekends. Recently, she stayed all night to help during a snowstorm. It’s clear that the ED is committed to caring for the residents and comforting their families. Some of the negative reviews might be from unhappy staff or family members. Before deciding, make sure to get all the facts and consider the overall experience. Oxton Place has been a blessing for my family!

"Comfortable and Helpful Assisted Living; Minor Improvements Suggested"
I looked for a long time to find a place for my Dad. I found Oxton Place Of Rome and thought it was welcoming, cozy, and friendly. The Director gave me lots of info that would have taken me months to find. She really knew her job. She also helped me work with the Veteran's administration to get my Dad the money he deserved. This helped me pay for his stay at Oxton Place. It was really tough leaving him there, but he has settled in so well. I am very happy with how things are going. If I could change anything, I would improve the landscaping to make the courtyard more inviting. I would also move the smoking area so it's not as visible.

"Great experience visiting Oxton Place of Rome!"
I visited Oxton Place of Rome because I needed a place for my sister. The director was really helpful, and we toured the facility while talking about options for my loved one. When I visited, there was a band playing music for the residents, and everything looked so clean and tidy. The staff seemed really friendly as they walked around. Sherry even invited me to have lunch with the residents, and although I had to decline, the food looked like a good home-cooked meal. A few days later, I went back to do the paperwork. Sherry had everything ready for me to sign, which made this choice so easy. I am very satisfied with Oxton Place of Rome!

"Dad's New Home"
I spent months searching for a place for Dad. Oxton Place Of Rome caught my attention—it felt inviting, warm, and friendly. Director provided information that would've taken me months to find. She really knows her job. With her help, my Dad got the money he deserved from the Veteran's administration, covering his stay at Oxton Place. Although it was tough leaving him there, he's adjusted well. Overall, I'm pleased with how things are going. If I could, I'd upgrade the landscaping and move the smoking area out of sight.

I recently toured Oxton for my mom and was very impressed with the staff and environment! The Executive Director gave me the tour and was very knowledgeable, super nice, and a strong leader! If there's anything that needs to be done for you or your loved one, she will go out of her way to make it happen!

"Staff Stretched Thin at Oxton Place of Rome"
Oxton Place of Rome does have staff members who genuinely care, for the most part. A lot of them visibly express their care. The crew working the morning shift, however, finds it difficult to handle everyone's needs due to lack of sufficient staffers and a boss who demands too much. I've witnessed her treat her employees badly more than once. Honestly, it's the staff that makes the place bearable. They somehow manage to make everything seem better than it actually is.

"Negative Outlook on Oxton Due to Treatment of Employees"
I've been investigating assisted living homes for a relative recently. A friend of mine has a family member staying at Oxton, which is why I decided to spend an afternoon there. I visited with my friend's relative. We were hanging out in the TV area when I heard the executive director shout at the staff. I was really taken aback by the way she talked to them. My friend always mentions how kind and helpful all the girls working there are. The place itself is nice and recently renovated, but due to that incident, I've decided not to have my relative stay at Oxton.

"Great manager, but facility needs staff, updates, and improvements"
First, I want to say that the manager, does an amazing job. She's a big reason why this place is so good. She really knows what she's doing. However, there are limits to what she and the staff can do. They need more help, and the old building needs a lot of updates. It seems like upper management won't spend money on these things. The rooms aren’t painted or cleaned properly after someone moves out. I think rooms should be upgraded when someone leaves. There have been complaints about the cleanliness of the rooms, mostly because there aren’t enough staff members. The residents seem lonely and need more activities to keep their minds active every day. More staff should be interacting with them. The landscaping also needs a lot of work. Medication management is unorganized, and although the kitchen staff does a great job with the food, they could use a couple more servers. Currently, the girls working the floor handle this too. For the price, things should be better for both the residents and the staff. Thank you to the staff who work hard every day.

"Great staff, but facility needs upgrades and more staff attention"
First, I want to say that Sherry, the manager, does an amazing job. She really makes this place shine. However, there’s only so much she and the staff can do. They need more help. The building is old and needs a lot of repairs. It seems like the higher-ups don’t want to spend any money on it. Rooms aren’t freshly painted after someone moves out, and I’m not even sure if the carpets are cleaned. When someone leaves, it would be a great chance to fix up the rooms. There are many complaints about the cleanliness of the rooms, which is probably due to not having enough staff. The residents seem lonely and could use more activities to keep their minds engaged. More staff is needed to interact with them and help out more. The landscaping also needs a lot of work. Medication management appears to be pretty disorganized. On the bright side, the kitchen staff does an excellent job with the food. They could use a few extra servers to keep things running smoothly, as the current staff on the floor handle this on top of their other duties. For the price, things could definitely be better for both the residents and the staff. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work; I see the daily challenges you face.

"Oxton Place is our choice."
My husband and I visited Oxton Place on Saturday, 9/19, during their Fall Festival. We're looking for a place for my 91-year-old mother, who lives in North Carolina. There were so many impressive things about the place, I can’t list them all. Sherry Lyle went above and beyond to answer all our questions, gave great info on VA assistance, and impressed us with her knowledge and multitasking on a busy day! The entire staff was fantastic, and we got to talk to current residents and their families. We were amazed by the real family atmosphere at Oxton Place. While we’re not ready to move my mom just yet, this will definitely be our choice when the time comes!
