"Great staff, spacious rooms, excellent amenities!"

The staff is super friendly, and the facility is well-managed. Rooms are spacious, and residents enjoy good amenities. I highly recommend Oaks at Shiloh Point.

"Poor Care Leads to Loss of Walking Ability at Oaks"

My family member stayed at Oaks at Shiloh Point for short-term care. She was comfortably walking when we arrived. However, after about a month and a half, she couldn't walk at all and sadly, she's never going to be able to walk again. I don't think this place is good and I wouldn't suggest others to use this facility.

"Disappointed with Unkept Promises and Lack of Support"

I chose this place because I saw good reviews. They made all sorts of promises. A pharmaceutical company put five bottles of Boost in the fridge. I didn't order them. My wife didn't drink them. They were still there when I left, and the people at the assisted living didn't help me at all.

"Great assisted living community with caring staff and good communication."

This community is great! Our experience has been very positive. The staff genuinely care about the residents, and the place is clean. They communicate well with families, keeping us informed about our loved ones and answering our questions. Plus, residents get three meals a day with choices.

"Accommodating Assisted Living with Some Staffing Concerns"

The helpers don't seem to have enough medical training for hospice residents. The community helped us set up the room for my loved one instead of us bringing furniture, which was great because we didn't have much time. They also accept residents who need catheters, which was important for us.

"Negligent Care at Assisted Living Leads to Family Discontent"

I advise against this facility. They seem great at first, then it appears they think they have you hooked, and the quality of care diminishes. I began handling my mother's laundry due to their poor service. My family and I now give her showers as they aren't provided by the staff. My mom has dementia, she often insists she's already bathed. Hello, it's ASSISTED living, the hint is in the title - assist her. We certainly pay them enough. She's even short on her breathing medication, leaving only tonight's dose. If an emergency arises, they phone us to ask if we want her taken to the ER. Again, that should be obvious! They should prioritize dialing 911, arrange her transportation to the hospital, and then contact us. However, I must mention she, she's efficient and endeavors to help in any way she can, assuring that it's done. The sole reason my mom is still residing there is her reluctance to move. But I'm contemplating moving her elsewhere despite her wishes.

"Amazing Care and Support from Wonderful Staff"

Everyone here is really caring and helpful. I don’t know what I would do without these amazing people. Thank you!

My parents are doing great in this community. It's still a bit of an adjustment for them, but I feel they’re in good hands. They’ve already made some improvements since moving here. The staff is helpful and kind, and there are activities available when they’re ready to join in. I’m confident they’re being well cared for. Everything’s gone smoothly for us, and I would recommend this place.

"So much to do here!"

Everything has been great here! My loved one stays busy with all the activities they offer. There’s always something to do! The food is good, but a little more variety would make it even better. The community is always clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend this place.

"Very warm, caring place—cousin is happy and safe"

Dogwood Forest has truly been a life saver for me. I was trying to take care of my elderly cousin after her husband passed, and after visiting a few places in Cumming, I chose Dogwood. The staff made me feel so welcome on my tour, and they even remembered both my name and my cousin’s the next time I came by. My cousin, who’s 94, is treated so well, and I don’t have to worry anymore. She’s happy and in very good hands.

"Warmly Welcoming Assisted Living with Engaging Activities and Pristine Environment"

We went on a tour with Lisa, who's super professional. She loves her job and residents. Lanier Tech volunteers keep things lively. The place is clean and well-kept. The former director's starting a new spot in Canton soon.

"Dogwood Forest - A loving community for Dad!"

This is the perfect place for my dad because it feels like home, not just an institution. All the staff and residents know each other, and my dad loves that everyone knows his name. He feels loved and cared for, and he often says how wonderful it is to live here. Thank you, Dogwood, for caring for and including my dad.

"High Staff Turnover Due to Poor Management"

This place just can't seem to keep their workers for long. The staff who work there are nice enough, but becoming friends with anyone is tough because of how often people leave. And honestly, the bosses are the worst. They don't treat families of the people living there or their own workers with kindness or respect. The staff complains all the time about how mean the bosses are. Staff even told me that's why so many people quit. If you have good bosses, the workers are happy, and then the place would be great. But right now, it's not.

I toured this community while searching for care for my loved one. Although I chose a different place, I was still impressed with what I saw here. They seemed to have good care and a nice mix of activities. The facility was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I looked at many options in the area and was impressed with them all.

"Great place but too far from some relatives"

The place is pretty good, but it's too far from certain family members.

"This place is simply the best for seniors!"

I’d give them a 10 out of 5 if I could! It’s a beautiful and clean facility, and the staff are super friendly and caring. They really take the time to get to know the residents personally—learning about their histories, likes, and dislikes. The activities director is amazing! She talks to families to find out what activities their loved ones would enjoy and encourages the shy residents to join in. Eric, the maintenance man, is always cheerful and friendly with everyone. I’d recommend this place to anyone!

"Facility Size and Pricing: A Decent Place with Licensing Concerns"

This place was pretty small, but it was nice overall. They had a fixed price system, but it turned out to be more expensive than expected. One cool thing we found out was that in Georgia, there are two types of licenses for these places, and assisted living/memory care has the highest license. I can't remember the exact term they used, but this facility didn't have the right kind of license when we checked it out.

"Cozy and welcoming assisted living with spacious, bright common areas."

I really like this place. It's pretty new and has lots of bright, roomy places where everyone can hang out. The people here are nice and friendly but not like they're trying too hard to be cool. The price is okay, and it covers everything except the phone and cable bills. It's in an okay spot, though it's right next to the hospice where my dad passed away. I don't think my mom will remember that. They also have memory care, and it's really nice and spacious.
