"Unlivable Conditions and Poor Communication at The Oaks."
Last year, the sprinkler system at The Oaks went haywire and caused a flood in several apartments. Lots of people had to move out for months, and The Oaks didn't seem to care or even bother to explain what happened. Right now, the water at The Oaks has been turned off for several days. They haven't said a word or given any information to the people living there. Everyone is stuck without flushing toilets, showers, or drinking water. If you care about your older relatives, don't let them live here. This place seems like a good deal at first, but it's just a trick to get your money. You'll end up feeling let down and upset, just like we did!

"Disappointing Dining at Mom’s Assisted Living"
My mom lives in her own apartment at the assisted living place. When she first got there, the restaurant had lots of workers and the meals were really good. But after the coronavirus hit, they didn’t have enough staff, they cut back on meal times, and the food got pretty bad. Now, everyone living there laughs because they say the food is supposed to be made by a chef, but it doesn’t seem like it. Just last week, I had dinner with my mom. They gave her a plate with some really dry mashed potatoes, green beans that were cooked too much, and a Salisbury steak covered in a weird gravy that had bubbles like it was going bad. It was like eating at Morrison’s Cafeteria when they’re having an off day. The place, Oaks, keeps saying they’ll make things better, but it’s been a long time and nothing’s changed. They say the menu is made by a chef, but the food sure doesn’t taste like it. It’s not right that they’re telling people the food is great in their new brochure, especially when it costs so much money each week to eat “chef-made” meals. Come on, Oaks, you can do way better than this.

"Mixed Review on Assisted Living"
The staff here is very friendly. Communication and follow-through on maintenance requests could be better. Residents who participate in activities are also friendly. Breakfast is good, but lunch is a bit small. Unfortunately, dinner isn't provided. The food quality and variety need improvement. Independent living apartments have full kitchens. Residents should have a choice in meal plans.

"Beautiful but remote"
The place looked nice, but it was too remote.

"Beware: Misleading Practices in Facility's Physical Therapy Services"
Watch out for their physical therapy services. The people working there will say your PT treatments have been approved and you'll only have a "small copay." Then they tell you a price that's way lower than the crazy high bill you eventually get. After that, they try to convince you your insurance isn't accepted there - the same insurance they told you was pre-approved. My suggestion to any residents is to have your PT rendered somewhere other than this facility.

"Lack of Recreation and Care for Memory-Impaired Residents"
The recreation department is pretty much non-existent for most residents. Those with memory problems wander around asking for help to leave. There’s no music, no art, nothing! One day, there was music in the main room, but no one from recreation came to take anyone. The cleaning lady ended up wheeling out a couple of people well after it started. Thank you to her. It's really sad for all those stuck there and for the aides who could use some mental health support from these poor souls.

"Gracemont: A Loving Home for Our Mom"
We can’t say enough good things about the director and staff at Gracemont. My mom lived there for almost 6 years, and it’s truly one of the best places for care. The love and compassion they show is how everyone should be treated. We’re so happy we found a home and friends at Gracemont.

"Billing Issues"
Gracemont Assisted Living does a good job overall. The staff is friendly and professional, working hard to care for the residents. Sometimes, though, it seems like they don’t have enough staff. Everyone I’ve met there seems happy. My only issue is with their billing service—I’ve received incorrect invoices more than once.
