"Avoid This Community: No Physical Therapy in Building"

I chose this place because it had physical therapy, but I wouldn't suggest it.

"Great place for active seniors; lots of amenities and activities!"

I would suggest it if the person you want to live there will use everything. I chose this place because of all the things my parents can do.

"Unresponsive Facility Forces Cancellation of Planned Trip"

My wife and I thought it was a good idea to book a spot for my mom at this assisted living facility five months back. But, over the past week, we've been trying to reach out to different contacts at the facility without so much as a callback. So now, we're left with no choice but to cancel our planned overseas trip, costing us big time. If you ask me, I'd say steer clear of this place as far as you could. The absolute lack of basic professionalism is just shocking.

"Forced out by rent increase, hastened loved one's decline."

My family member lived at Hammond Glen Retirement Community for years and liked it. But when they hiked up the rent by a lot after my loved one got out of the hospital, we felt pushed to leave. They didn't even bother to check her actual needs, just made up stuff to charge more. We heard someone else had the same problem. So, we had to move her out. Sadly, she didn't last long after that, feeling really sad and beaten down.

"Friendly Welcome Matters"

Before you move in, make sure they give you a friendly welcome.

"Friendly Community with Convenient Location"

Everyone here is friendly and helpful, but sometimes they take a bit to fix things. I haven’t joined many activities yet since I’m still unpacking, but at mealtime, people chat about what they’ll do. As a younger resident, I’m happy with my choice. The location is great—surrounded by tall trees, it feels like a special world. My apartment overlooks the wooded side, which I love. Plus, it’s just one block from Roswell Rd with lots of shops. The 24-hour front desk is handy too.

"Great Community with Nice People and Ideal Location"

I chose this community for a few reasons. The people were really nice, and I loved the floor plan of the 2-bedroom apartment I picked. Plus, the location is excellent.

"Pleasant Place with Kind Staff, Needs Better Nighttime Help"

The nighttime assistance could be better. The environment is nice and the staff during the day are mostly really friendly. This place doesn’t have the usual smell of a “rest home”.

"A Complete Mess: Dismal and Crumbling Facility"

This place was a total mess. It was really dreadful. It seemed as though the building was crumbling. Totally horrible.

"Unwelcoming Assisted Living Place Has Poor First Impressions"

When our family visited this assisted living place, we didn't like it one bit. It looks old and dirty. The first thing you see is a garbage bin right in the parking area. The entire place didn't seem friendly or welcoming at all. They showed us an apartment with something they called a balcony. But it was on the first floor and was basically just a block of cement. You could maybe put one chair on it, but it didn't have a nice view.

"brackets"

Assisted living has pros like informative staff, amenities, and affordability, but lacks ground-level options

"Well-Organized Community with Great Staff"

This place really knows what they're doing. The director came and introduced themselves, which was nice. The activities person seemed good and encouraged the residents to join in some of the activities. The marketing person was great to work with. They allow pets here, and the place is kept really clean. The rooms were nice, and I would recommend checking out this community.

"Welcoming Community, Great Staff, Lobby Needs Update"

Looking for a place for my mom, Hammond Glen stood out for being super friendly. James was awesome - he told us everything straight, knew everyone there, and was just great. He's a big plus for Hammond Glen. They should spruce up the lobby though, to keep up with others.

"Getting Settled Well, Early Signs of Positive Socializing"

Our mother-in-law has been at Hammond Glen for just a month, so it's a bit early to have a full opinion. But we’re happy with how clean and well-kept everything is. She likes her apartment and has met a few neighbors. The staff has been really helpful with setting up her cable and assisting in other ways. She’s still a little shy, but we’re seeing good signs that she’s starting to socialize more, which is really important to us. Place for Mom was a huge help in narrowing down our choices with their great advice. Thanks to everyone on staff and best wishes!

"A Pleasant Choice for Independent Seniors"

Hammond Glen is a pleasant senior living place. It's super clean, and the staff are really nice. My mom's apartment is quite nice too. The food is great, and the activities are okay. I recommend it to independent seniors.

"Convenient Assisted Living with Varied Amenities"

This assisted living facility offers one-bedroom units starting at $2050 per month, with an additional $125 per meal if desired. They provide scheduled transportation three days a week for doctor visits and grocery shopping. Other amenities include a Lifeline system in the building, communion services offered onsite, and a Saturday afternoon service at 4:20 pm, along with one Wednesday per month.

"A Great Choice"

This place is amazing! The people who live here are friendly and have been here for a while. They really like their lifestyle. It's a good option for someone who wants independence but also enjoys social activities.

"Inviting Assisted Living with Cozy Amenities and Friendly Staff"

This place feels really cozy. They've got cool spots like a library when you first walk in, a TV area near the dining spot for chilling, and even a mini movie theater. Plus, they've got an "ice cream parlor" with a jukebox and a little store run by the residents. There are about 195 places to live here, with most of them filled up. But if you're looking for a one-bedroom spot in assisted living, you might have to wait a bit. The independent living part lets you pick different meal plans. Assisted living is on the second floor with 21 spots. You can eat in the main dining area if you want. They don't have full-on assisted living here, but they follow the rules for personal care set by Georgia. Parking's not a problem, and they check on folks every couple of hours in the assisted living area. If you're in independent living, you can use services like Right at Home. Right now, they only have one small one-bedroom spot left in assisted living. The staff here is nice and helpful. About half of the residents are Jewish, and there are a bunch of guys here, along with some couples. It's a tall building with lots of floors.

"Great location"

My mom loves it here, and I can't find anything bad to say. The positives? She's happy, and they're remodeling. Sure, it's a bit of an intrusion, but she's excited about the new carpet. Being a big city girl, she enjoys the location near Roswell Rd. She's met lots of new people and is participating. Overall, I'm thrilled she's there—I don't worry about her falling, and I know they'll take care of her.

"Limited Outdoor Space and Renovations Needed in Old High-Rise"

The negatives: This place is a 9 story tower, built in the 80's. You have to sign a lease for each year until December. It needs, and currently is under, renovations. There's barely any space to walk around outside. The positive: It has easy access, including transportation, to doctors and rehab facilities.

Wow, I’m really impressed! I’d recommend this to anyone!

"Beautiful Location, But No Initial Flexibility"

I've checked out this place, it's really nice but they're not willing to give me some initial leeway for a few months.

"Great assisted living facility with long-term staff, only pricey downside."

I really liked this place. The apartments are really nice. It's cool that independent living is just like assisted living. They even have a computer lab! Most of the staff have been working there for 10 years or more. The only bad thing is that it's kinda expensive.
