"Nice Place, Not My Fit"
I had a good time checking out this place for maybe living there. The staff came on time for my visit and explained everything well. I enjoyed the open layout and all the cool stuff they offer for people living there. But in the end, I decided it wasn't the right spot for me.

"Highly recommend despite minor issues"
The facilities are great, even though there are only 10 bedrooms for Alzheimer’s/Memory Care residents. The monthly fee is just $3,500. The food has been excellent. I’ve found only two minor issues. First, the ice cream sandwich dessert was served with the meal, so it was too soft when it was time to eat. Second, one day a caregiver told a resident they couldn't lie down on a sofa in the living room. The next day, another resident was lying down and sleeping on the same sofa, and the same caregiver said nothing. When we first moved my wife in, I was told that all medicines had to be with a local pharmacy that would repackage each one for daily use. This service costs $25 per month. However, a state agency said this wasn't required. Also, over-the-counter vitamins without a pharmacy label had to be repackaged by the facility’s chosen pharmacy, but I haven’t been charged for this after one month. I highly recommend this facility.

"A Wonderful Place for Loved Ones!"
My sister and I visited our dear friend today at Homelife on Glynco, and we were really impressed! This place is beautiful. Our mom stayed here many years ago, and the renovations look amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We talked to the administrator and shared that our mom was once here. It made us so happy to see that the facility is still thriving. We even took a card and some brochures to share with our friends. If you're looking for a place for your loved one, you should definitely check this out!

"Excellent Facility with Great Value, Minor Issues Noted"
The facility is fantastic, even though it only has 10 rooms for Alzheimer’s or Memory Care residents. The monthly cost is $3500, and the food is really good. I’ve noticed just two small issues: 1) An ice cream sandwich was served with the dinner plate, so it was very soft by the time it was eaten. 2) One day a caregiver told a resident they couldn’t lie on a sofa in the living room, but the next day another resident was allowed to sleep on the same sofa without any comment. When we first moved my wife in, I was told all medicines needed to be kept by a local pharmacy, which would repackage them daily for $25 a month. A check with a state agency showed this wasn’t necessary. Also, over-the-counter vitamins didn’t need to be repackaged if they didn’t have a pharmacy label. I haven’t been charged for this service after a month. I highly recommend this facility.

"Best Assisted Living Experience—Warm Welcome and Helpful Staff"
Choosing an assisted living facility for Mom was tough. Her doctor said she couldn’t stay home alone anymore, and in-home care costs too much. We started looking for a place, but we didn’t know what to ask or what to look for. The first place we visited was Homelife on Glynco. The administrator showed us around, and everyone we met smiled and greeted us warmly. At the end of our visit, we went back to the front office and were encouraged to ask questions, but we were a bit overwhelmed and couldn't think of any. I’ll never forget what Kim, the administrator, said: she suggested we tour other facilities to see how they operate every day. At first, I wondered why she would recommend that, but it turned out to be great advice. When we visited other places, most wouldn’t even talk to us without an appointment. One place wouldn’t let us walk around at all. But about a week later, we decided to move Mom to Homelife, and we couldn’t be happier! It was the best decision ever. Oh, and we walked in without an appointment during lunch and were treated wonderfully—like we were welcome guests!

"Best place for my mom!"
We searched high and low for my mother, from South Georgia to North Florida. My husband found this facility and called the Director. She was very friendly and gave us lots of information. She invited us to lunch and a tour. We went over a weekend and were shown around by the community relations director. She was helpful and seemed to really care, but sadly, we couldn’t stay for lunch. We narrowed it down to Homelife and another place in Jacksonville. Our choice was based on how genuine. They handled many calls from my husband and me. When move-in day came, I was really nervous. My husband went with my mom to her room while I stayed in the office with. They both helped me feel better, which is what I really needed. We made the best decision by choosing Homelife. My mom has settled in well and loves the care staff. If you need a place for your loved one, this is it!

"Finally found the perfect place for our loved one!"
I’ve toured this facility a couple of times now. I met with the Marketing Director and the administrator, and both were very professional and helpful. I took a tour by myself and then brought my family to see it and have lunch. The food is excellent! We had a loved one in a facility in another state, and the food was terrible there. I’ve looked at other facilities here in Brunswick and out of state, but this one is definitely our favorite.

"Planning to Move In Soon"
My family visited the facility and met with both the local and corporate directors. They welcomed us even though we showed up without an appointment, and they really seemed to care about our situation. We had a tasty lunch there, and everything looked good. We're planning to move our mother in once we finalize the details. She has been alone at home, and we found that hiring sitters is too costly. If you want a place where they really listen and talk with you, this might be a good choice.

"Proceed with caution: Unprofessional staff and judgmental atmosphere in assisted living."
This place wasn't the best. They didn't handle family stuff very well. The person in charge likes to criticize the decisions families make for their loved ones, even though she doesn't really know their family history or anything. If you're okay with being judged for tough choices, maybe this place is okay for you. But if not, I'd suggest finding somewhere else. My review is just based on what happened to me, not an attack on the staff.

"Avoid: Owner Criticizes Family Decisions"
This assisted living facility doesn't handle sensitive family issues professionally. They call themselves "experts," but the owner jumps to criticize decisions made by the people who know the loved ones best. She doesn't understand the unique family situations and histories of the individuals in her care. If you're okay with being judged during an already difficult time, then this place might work for you. Otherwise, I suggest you avoid it. I'm just speaking from my personal interactions with this facility, and I'm not taking a shot at the staff.

"Unprofessional Director Negatively Impacts Assisted Living Facility"
The boss at this assisted living facility, The place is extremely unprofessional both with and around her employees. It's no secret that she often says inappropriate things that no supervisor should ever say. On top of this, she seems to lack any care or compassion for her team. Her negative attitude is so severe, it's damaging the facility's reputation. Even some family members have complained about how she behaves towards them. With her in charge, this place will never become a good facility.

"Boss is Rude and Gives Facility a Negative Image"
The head boss here acts really disrespectful and unkind towards the workers. She often says stuff that a boss shouldn't say to her workers. She doesn't seem to care or show concern for her staff. Her bad attitude gives the place a negative image, and some family members have even complained about her rudeness. This business will never be thought of as a good place as long as she's still there.

"Great Care at a Great Price!"
This place is really nice! The people here are super attentive. I like that the nurse's station looks over the living area for the residents. The staff seem totally comfortable with my loved one's care, and they can give insulin shots in the memory care wing. It's not as fancy as other places, but it's way cheaper! The director is an RN with lots of experience in memory care. Overall, we're really happy!

"Great care and affordable—happy with our choice!"
This place is really nice! The people here are very attentive and caring. I also like that the nurse’s station can see the living area where the residents are. The staff are very good with my loved one’s needs and can even give insulin shots in the memory care section. It might not be as fancy as some other places, but it’s much more affordable! The director is a registered nurse and has a lot of experience with memory care. Overall, we’re very happy!

"Assisted Living with Great Value and Caring Staff in Glynn County"
HomeLife on Glynco is the best value for private pay care in Glynn County. The staff truly cares about the residents. The food is good, and the nursing and CNA staff are polite. As the number of residents increases, activities are expected to improve. This was the only downside we found. We are very pleased with our choice for Mom, and she is happy there. The new owners have started with new flooring, landscaping, and other improvements. We recommend visiting HomeLife on Glynco if you're considering private care for a loved one.

"Mom's New Home: Great Value and Care"
It's great to find a place that's the best value for private pay care in Glynn County. We've noticed that the staff really care about the people who call HomeLife on Glynco their home. The food is always good, and the nursing/CNA staff are very polite. When the number of residents goes up, I'm sure the activities will too. That's really the only thing we didn't like. We are very happy with choosing this facility for Mom, and she seems very happy there. From what we understand, the new flooring, landscaping, and other improvements are just the start for the new owners. We encourage anyone looking for private care for a loved one to visit HomeLife on Glynco and see for yourself.

"Caring staff and nurses, great place for loved ones!"
I disagree about staff turnover. My mom has been here for many years, and I see the same faces. They really care, which means a lot to my family and me. I’ve never asked a caregiver or nurse for help with my mom and been refused. Plus, nurses give medications, not just techs, which is a big plus for us. You can't go wrong bringing your loved one here.

"High Cost, Low Staff: Unworthy Assisted Living Facility"
I seriously wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. They just can't hold onto their workers - there's not enough of them. Because of this, they can't give our elderly family members the care they deserve. For the amount of money we're paying, the service should be way better.

"Awful Facility, Not Enough Staff, Too Expensive"
I'd never suggest this place to anyone. They just can't keep their employees - there's not enough people to make sure everyone gets taken care of properly. With what they charge, you should expect much more.

"Love it here!"
My loved one has been at this facility for several years now. The staff is always pleasant, and they interact well with the residents during my visits. Sometimes I have complaints, but they are addressed immediately. I even met the new owner, who is nice but a little shy. When we moved in, it was under Fairhaven, but the local owner passed away last summer. We got a letter saying it was closing and that we had to move our family. From my family's point of view, Homelife saved Fairhaven residents' home and the workers' jobs. We also got a letter in October about the buyout. My family doesn't feel that Homelife owes us money since we paid first and last month's rent too. Saying the new owners and staff owe money is a stretch. I'm just happy my mom could stay home. Ultimately, the care of the residents is my concern, and they do a top-notch job. Sorry, but that's my rant and point of view!

"Scammed: Lost Half of $7,472.58 to HomeLife of Glynco"
I got my mom settled at Fairhaven about a year and a half ago. I had to shell out the first and final month's rent right away. The place got sold a few months back without a single heads-up to a company called HomeLife of Glynco. Turns out, the payment for the last month wasn't part of the deal and now, half our money - which is $7,472.58, to be precise - is gone. The people who used to run Fairhaven are now in charge of Homelife of Glynco. Based on my experience, you can judge for yourself if they really care about their clients.
