"Friendly Staff, Mixed Care Needs"

This community has some good points because it's not too big. All the staff members are friendly, and my sister can move around, although she requires a walker. However, many other residents need more care. Depending on your loved one's needs, this place may or may not be suitable. The facility looks nice, but they could use additional staff and better management.

"Negative Opinion About Assisted Living Facility"

I definitely wouldn't suggest going to this place.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

Renovations underway; lacks independence, overpriced, institutional vibe, limited amenities.

"Renovated Assisted Living with Limited Staff Presence"

Newly owned by a family, it feels caring. Renovations underway. Bright, airy rooms, but staff presence limited.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Personal Touch and Vibrant Community Life"

I really liked the building, especially since there are only 65 beds. The location works well for us. [Name removed] is very nice and caring. Everyone I met who works there was friendly (and helped me when I got lost trying to get in). It is really clean and there are a lot of planned activities. They have a salon for getting your hair done right there. The rooms are spacious and bright. I really enjoyed the tour.

"Disorganized Service Hindered Experience At Assisted Living Facility"

I'm trying to find a special assisted living bed, but the care here isn't what I'm looking for. This website set up my appointment. When I called to cancel, the lady at the front desk was nice, but at 2 pm on a Tuesday, she couldn't find anyone to help me. It made them seem really unorganized. But, to be fair, I didn't actually take the tour.

"Nice Community!"

We visited this place for a tour, and we found the community to be very pleasant. The staff was friendly and helpful when we had questions. The community was clean and tidy. Unfortunately, it was too far away from us.

"Insignia of Sandy Springs: Mixed Experience with Excellent Physical Therapy"

My experience at Insignia of Sandy Springs hasn't been great. One big issue is that their staff seems overworked, which affects the care and cleanliness. They don't have enough people to properly care for memory care residents. When I visit, my loved one isn't taken to the restroom often enough, and the TV room is usually too cold. The food quality needs improvement, especially for diabetic residents. On the bright side, their physical therapy service is excellent.

"Much Room for Improvement at Insignia of Sandy Springs"

I've had a pretty disappointing experience with Insignia of Sandy Springs. The biggest issue is that they don't seem to have enough people working to properly care for the memory care residents. You can really see this when you notice the lack of attention to cleanliness. I visit regularly, and it's clear my family member doesn't get restroom assistance often enough, as his diaper is usually dirty. The staff doesn't always seem to care about the residents' comfort either. More often than not, the TV is tuned to a channel the staff likes, rather than what the residents prefer, and the TV room is often too cold unless I ask them to lower the AC. On top of that, the food could definitely use some improvement. The meat they serve is often of low quality, and they don't do a great job accommodating for the dietary needs of diabetic residents. I've had to keep a close eye on my family member's blood sugar levels. The one positive thing I can say is that their physical therapy services are top-notch. They've done better than the rehab facility my family member was at before and have even gotten him up and walking on his own for short periods.

"Acceptable Experience marred by Unpleasant Incident"

While our stay was initially okay, we had a rather distressing experience. My wife was living there but then she had to be hospitalized. When it was time for her to return, the facility refused to accept her back saying she was not physically capable enough. I believe they deceived us. Now my wife is in hospice care.

"Welcoming, Positive Assisted Living!"

The place is small but really nice. It feels welcoming to clients, and the reviews are positive. Prices are fixed.

"Convenient Facility, Majority Jewish Population, A Christian Might Struggle"

Handy location, looks great inside. Lots of Jewish residents and since my mom is a Christian, it might be hard for her to fit in.

"Checked Out Carlton, Unsure it Fits Parents' Needs"

My husband and I scoped out Carlton today. I don't believe it fits my parents' needs particularly in terms of the apartments and activities.

"Communication Gap Hampers Otherwise Pleasant Assisted Living"

The staff is amazing, but communication needs improvement. The facility is pleasant, but they didn't provide Kosher meals as promised.

"Caring Staff, Personal Touch, and Comfortable Memory Care"

The staff here is really great. You pay one price, so you don’t have to worry about changing rooms or levels of care, and you get to keep your own furniture. The memory care unit is small, with a maximum of 22 people, so everyone gets to know the residents well and can give them personal attention when needed. The meals are good and bring the community together. Laundry is done as needed and individually, so things don’t get lost or pile up. They handle common issues like resistance to bathing and distractions from inappropriate activities really well.

"Good-Looking Facility, But Not a Social Fit"

This place is neat and looks pretty good. It's really clean, and the folks working there are all nice. We just don't think our family member would fit in really well here because many of the people living here are Jewish and a lot of the fun activities are focused on Jewish culture.

"Great experience despite recent changes and needed upgrades"

We were really happy with our first impression of the facility and staff. They made everything easy, and the move-in process was smooth. There have been some changes, like a new Executive Director and the removal of the kosher kitchen, but these haven't had a big impact on my mom. The new Director is working hard to make things better and keeps us updated with monthly family meetings. The staff is responsive and tries to accommodate requests. It seems like the facility could use some upgrades, like a new generator and security system.
