"Assisted Living Staff Treat Mom Like Family"
The people who work here treat my mom just like their own family. She really likes going to church, getting her hair and nails done, and doing art classes. She also loves sitting on the front porch and rocking with her friends. The staff always go out of their way to make my mom feel extra special.

"Helpful and Friendly Retirement Community"
I have lived here. The staff was very helpful when I first moved in. Most of my requests are done quickly. The dining room staff are friendly and try to meet all requests. The administrative staff are professional and helpful. I am enjoying my first time in a retirement community.

"Welcoming community, but food could be better"
We picked this place because my mom really liked it. A Place for Mom showed us 3 or 4 options nearby, but Magnolia Manor felt the most welcoming and made her feel at home, so we chose it. Her room was a good size, and she was happy with it. She did complain about the food a lot, saying it wasn't what she was used to at home.

"Happy and Active Living at Magnolia Manor"
This review is for the St. Simons Island Magnolia Manor Assisted Living “Cottage” building only. My mom has been very happy living there for 3.5 years. The main staff has been there for many years and have a close and attentive relationship with her, especially organizing and maintaining her medicine and weekly medical check-ups. She enjoys dining with the 29 other residents and daily activities like games, light exercise, raised box gardening, art club, monthly speakers and entertainers, holiday crafts, and parties. She can choose to go with the group off-site to events weekly or just drive around the beautiful island and grab an ice cream. Tucked away from busy traffic, their large porch is a favorite with shade from live oaks and Spanish moss, or she can relax in the courtyard and doze in the sun. Our family toured several facilities and Magnolia Manor several times. We have never regretted the choice. I suggest everyone take their own tour before deciding for their loved one.

"Enjoyable Staff!!"
I have no complaints since moving into this community. The staff have been very accommodating, and I have settled into my apartment just fine. I've noticed a big improvement in my health and have more energy now. The staff make sure to take us to the grocery store and doctor appointments. Overall, I couldn't have picked a better living environment and highly recommend this place.

"Inadequate Care and Training at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff is clueless about caring for open heart surgery patients. They appear to have zero training. This place is only suitable for someone who's too much for you to manage.

"Unqualified Staff, Neglect, and Mistreatment at Assisted Living Facility"
The workers here are absolutely unqualified, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. The way they behave towards elderly people is humiliating and sickening. They threaten patients with consequences if they don't follow instructions. They don't ensure that the residents are fed or receive their medicines on time. If a problem is pointed out, they disregard the complaint and falsely accuse the patients and their relatives of being dishonest. There's no end to the problems here...

"Unacceptable Treatment and Unprofessional Staff at Facility"
The staff were unacceptable, unskilled, and unprofessional. The shameful and appalling way they treated the elderly was disgusting. They threatened residents by taking them to an undisclosed location if they didn't follow orders. The residents were not cared for properly, with missed meals and late medications. Complaints were ignored, and residents and their families were accused of dishonesty when issues arose. This is just the tip of the iceberg...

"Great place for care and fun activities!"
My dad began in catered living and now he’s in assisted living at Magnolia. The staff are really friendly and take care of all his needs. I think the food is really tasty, and he has even gained a little weight. The community is clean, and they have plenty of activities to keep everyone busy.

"Awesome place for loved ones with caring people"
I rated the activities as fair since I don’t know much about them, but this living facility is fantastic. I really love the people, the service, the kindness, and the residents.

"Don't Believe False Promises: A Cautionary Tale"
Magnolia Manor seemed like a great place at first, but it turns out they mostly act like a simple retirement space. We took my dad there not really knowing if he'd be okay. After he moved in, we soon found out he needed more than what this "easy-going retirement" spot provided. We thought Magnolia Manor would cater to dad's growing needs as they promised us he could "age in place", but that wasn't true. They suggested he move to a more advanced care level, claiming their experts would help us and dad out. That didn't happen at all! Staff mostly just read newspapers, and made it clear we were bothering them whenever we asked for anything. We might as well have hired babysitters instead of these so-called professionals. We quickly moved dad away from there. Poor Dad! He's now with a rival company and he's faring much better. The staff there are noticeably more professional and better trained. If only we'd known this before! We could've spared dad and ourselves so much frustration and sorrow.

"Welcome Home"
Mom got used to her new home pretty quickly. The other residents looked out for her and helped her settle into the daily routine. She feels safe and cozy in her new apartment, knowing someone is always there for her.

"Magnolia Manor: Friendly, Helpful, and Welcoming Campus"
My husband and I visited Magnolia Manor in August to find a place for my mom. We spent two hours touring the campus, talking to staff and residents. We saw rooms in the catered living building and apartments for independent living. We also checked out the assisted living quarters. This campus is wonderful with friendly and helpful staff who answered all our questions. We spoke to residents, including one who has been there for 7 years, and their feedback was very positive. I also felt a warm overall impression of the facility.
