Marie's Personal Care Home

"Highly Disappointed with Unqualified and Deceptive Assisted Living Facility"
First off, it's clear this place hides the bad feedback it gets. It's not right to erase the unpleasant experiences people had here! The staff may seem nice, but there's more to it than that, and they're not always upfront. The person who left the snarky comments under "My Father" ought to keep those thoughts to themselves and only mention the quality of the care home. Secondly, they claim to offer care for people with memory issues. This just isn't true. They lack the knowledge, skills, or training needed to provide that kind of service. My brother stayed here for a few years while suffering from dementia. Folks with dementia have these periods when they can't sleep and get cranky, something known as "sundowning." When my brother had these episodes, the staff didn't know what was happening and it created a lot of trouble because the caretaker also wasn't educated on these matters. The owners claim to provide memory care but they didn't know anything about what dementia patients go through. The caretaker told me that she wouldn't call the owners because she feared losing her job. To top it off, one owner is often gone due to another job, basically unavailable from Friday to Monday. It seems like they're an unprepared family operation attempting to make a quick buck, which is inappropriate for any kind of care home. Friendliness doesn't equate to efficiency. They state offering transportation on their website but they don't mention the extra charges. My brother passed away on a specific date, but they still had the guts to charge for two days when he didn't even last through the second day, which is absolutely heartless. Lastly, their food is only acceptable if you enjoy sandwiches and cereal every day. Then they accusingly said my brother wouldn't eat. No wonder!

"My Dad's Best Care"
Any negative or unfair remarks about this home are not right. My dad lived here for a year, and after praying for something he could afford, I found Marie's Personal Care Home. The owner noticed my dad acting strange a few weeks after he moved in. They called 911, and Dad was admitted for aspiration pneumonia but made a full recovery. He got the best care here, and the caretaker, along with hospice, gave him the best care possible in his last days. The person who made the rude remarks has an agenda and is supporting someone with disturbing behavior. They caused major disruptions in the home and made threats to the caretaker's life. The homeowners have been honest, fair, and treated Dad with the utmost respect.

"Concerns With Cleanliness & Safety in Assisted Living Facility"
I only popped into this nursing home once. Right off the bat, the place smelled like damp and rot. For someone older whose health isn't the best, that's not good. During my visit, I saw one of the resident's ask the staff if he could have his "smoke". Shockingly, they let him light up in the next room, with all that secondhand smoke around other seniors. Also, I noticed there weren't any proper gates, with a busy main road really close to the entrance. The bathroom was another issue - it was stinky and looked like it hadn't been cleaned right. I wouldn't recommend this place for elderly folks or anyone with disabilities.

"Unsuitable Living Conditions at Local Elderly Care Facility"
After only one visit to this care home, I was taken aback by the unhealthy conditions. The facility smelled of dampness and mold, which could be harmful to older people's already fragile immune system. I also found it quite alarming that a resident was given permission to smoke a cigarette inside the house, potentially exposing other residents to secondhand smoke. Additionally, the care home's location was concerning, being so near to a busy street and lacking a proper safety gate. The general cleanliness was disappointing too; the bathroom had a strong urine smell and looked poorly maintained. I honestly can't recommend this place to anyone, especially not for senior citizens or people with disabilities.

"Outstanding Care and Compassion at This Facility"
My experience at this facility was completely different from the negative review. The staff here are incredibly caring and loving. Unlike other places I’ve seen where the elderly are ignored, this facility provided excellent care and attention to my dying family member. I actually saw the people who wrote the negative review, and I’ve never met such rude individuals. One woman, in particular, seemed completely out of her mind, and her husband just wouldn’t stop talking. Overall, this place really provides one-on-one care and truly cares about their patients.

"Exceptional Care and Love at Maria Care Home"
Recently, my father passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's. The team at Maria Care Home went above and beyond in caring for him. They even handled the unnecessary family drama that made his last months tough. Despite some nasty reviews from my niece and others, my family knows better! Taking care of someone with Alzheimer's is really hard, but you and your staff cooked three meals a day and even hand-fed my dad. The caretaker was with him until his last breath. Thank you for everything you did for my dad and the respect and protection you provided. You are a Godsend! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving our dad the exceptional care and love that can't be bought at any price! Highly recommended!! JO1, USN, Retired

"Squalid Facility Lacking in Care and Respect"
You could call this place a care home, but that would be stretching it. This worn-down, lifeless three-bedroom house is managed by the most amateur staff you can find. The woman who owns it, is a greedy dictator, and her husband is her number one supporter. They show no respect towards the rights of the people who live there. Any talk of "activities" for the residents is just a laughable sham. This place is where the unwanted and neglected are left. If you're looking for a cheap, bare-bones facility for someone you couldn't care less about, then you've found your match. This so-called "care" home provides low-grade service at a bargain, just to fatten the owner's wallets. However, if you love your family member and want them to be taken care of in a professional environment, keep looking. This isn't a home for those we hold dear. It's more of a dumping ground for those we'd rather forget.

"Dismal Digs: An Unfit Abode for the Unloved"
This so-called assisted living home is an old, rundown three-bedroom residence operated by the most unskilled staff. The owner is just in it for the money and her spouse supports her. They consistently ignore their residents' rights. The alleged "activities" for residents are non-existent. This dreary place is where unwanted and forgotten folks end up. If you're searching for a cheap, bare-bones care facility for a disregarded relative, this could be your top pick. The sole aim here seems to be minimal care at low prices, filling the owners' pockets. But, if you're trying to find a quality care home with a professional environment for a loved one, keep looking. This isn't a place for those who are cherished. This is a comfortless dwelling for the uncared-for and forgotten.
