"Great HR Staff, But Facility Needs Organizing and Renovations"
This place has very little teamwork. [Name removed] from HR is fantastic though; she's always there when we need her. When we're short-staffed, she steps in and is always present to help. She even stays late in the office by herself and goes above and beyond in her work. Not only does she do her work, but she also takes on the tasks of others. Unfortunately, she doesn't get the recognition she deserves. This place is messy and disorganized, and the building itself needs renovations. Some individuals really need to take up managerial classes.

"Medlock Assisted Living: A Pandemic Haven with Added Freedom"
My mom has been at Medlock for nearly 4 years. It feels like living in a cozy mansion with all the amenities you’d want. During the pandemic, Medlock’s extra care gave us confidence that Mom was well taken care of. Even though visitation was strict and a bit stressful, we appreciate Medlock’s efforts. Congratulations to Medlock for guiding us through the pandemic and allowing more freedoms during visits.

"Medlock Gardens: A Caring Home with 3-Star Dining"
During the COVID pandemic, many Assisted Living facilities faced challenges. However, Medlock Gardens stood out with strong protocols and caring staff. My 97-year-old mother received excellent attention and survived. Medlock feels like home, and the dining experience is like a 3-star restaurant with tablecloths and silver.

"Clean, friendly staff; manager involved, could use more staffing."
Here's the rewritten review: "We're happy with Laurelwoods Personal Care Home! It's very clean, and the care staff are friendly and nice. The manager is involved with residents. They could use more staff, but it's a nice place overall, with good care."

"Best decision for dad: clean, welcoming, and like home"
My father lived at Medlock Homes in Decatur. We found it through A Place for Mom. Since we didn’t live in the state, it was a big decision for us. It turned out to be the best decision. He always felt comfortable there. The place is very clean, and the staff is always welcoming. It felt like a real home to him, not a hotel, and he never complained. I highly recommend them.

Medlock Gardens is wonderful. It’s close to home, offers full support, and has a warm, home-like feel. A cozy place with only 38 residents.

"Need More Frequent Care for Residents"
My mom stays here and it's just okay, not really great. We're worried because she's often wet. They should change her more often.

"A Bright and Welcoming Choice!"
Super nice place! Top choice for me. Bright, happy, and welcoming! The new director showed us around with lots of excitement. It’s quite small—only a few units. Just two men live there.

"Outdated facility under renovation, calm residents, personal climate control"
The place is quite old but they're currently fixing it up. There's no foul smell around and the old folks seem peaceful and happy. Workers are friendly and there aren't too many residents, which is good. The place is colorfully painted. Everyone has their own controls for heating and cooling. Each room has a tiny kitchen. There's also a cook.
