"Care Quality Falls Short in Assisted Living"
Okay staffing could make care better. Talked to Wellness Director twice. Bed sheets on bed for two weeks with pee stains, never changed. Only family changes them. Laundry mishap—everything smells like pee. No basket, clothes piled up. Awful room smell. Unhappy with care quality.

"Assisted Living Review"
My husband has been at the assisted living facility since late . In just two months, many staff members, including the sales rep, nurse, activity director, and manager, have left. It's surprising how often they change. The activities offered are quite limited, mostly just Bingo. The residents feel bored and aimless. The food is okay, but there aren't many fresh greens available. On the bright side, most of the employees are friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Some, like, , and , are excellent. is new and is trying to introduce more activities; she seems very nice. However, they're often understaffed on weekends. EmpowerMe therapy stands out as very good.

"Inadequate Care and Poor Hygiene at This Assisted Living Facility"
This place really doesn't provide proper care for your family members. They are constantly being left unattended. On top of that, they are constantly changing the staff, this is not good as it causes confusion. The rooms are not kept clean. They merely maintain the outside appearance to make it seem appealing. They also delay giving out the necessary medications. Worse still, they let residents fall and then act as if nothing bad has happened. This is a terrible facility.

Our time at Oats Assisted Living has been great. The staff is professional, attentive, and helpful. They’ve gone above and beyond our expectations, making it comfortable for our loved one to adjust.

"Not ideal for larger living spaces, but staff is friendly."
We visited Oaks at Tucker while looking for a place for our family member. It's a nice place and the people who work there are nice too. But the rooms are all studio apartments, and that's not what we wanted.

"Headline: Poor Care and Trust Issues at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom stayed there for eighteen months and the staff changed too often. They dressed her in other residents' clothing without telling us why. Even after we took away these clothes, they put them on her again. They don't look after the residents properly. The staff is really disrespectful and mean. They gave my mom too many medicines without asking us or telling us why. My mom’s jewelry even got stolen. It was a terrible experience. We took our mom out of there and now she's doing fantastic and doing well. ONLY PUT YOUR LOVED ONES HERE IF YOU WANT THEM TO SUFFER.

"Great Staff and Meals at Oaks at Tucker"
What really stood out to us was how the staff treated the residents. The meals are really good too - the residents eat well. Based on what we've seen so far at Oaks at Tucker, we would tell other families to check them out.

"Higher Rates Deterred Us"
Our family visited in person, and the tour was pleasant. However, the Oaks at Tucker had similar features to another community we considered, yet their rates were significantly higher. That’s why we decided not to move our loved one there.

"Uncaring staff and conditions at Northlake Gardens"
Northlake Gardens indeed looks old and rough around the edges, but that's not the main issue. The real problem lies with the care provided. It's true that some staff members really seem to focus on the residents, but the majority does not. They come off as impolite, unwelcoming, and mostly frown, maybe because they might not be paid enough and there aren't many of them. There were numerous instances when my mom was left untended all day. The frequent employee changes extend from the director, to the nurses and to the care providers. Often, a nurse would not be available. Northlake's parent company seems to be trimming down expenses on all fronts but is not keeping the residents' welfare as a priority. We've decided to relocate my mom.

"Northlake Gardens Falls Short of Expectations and Promises"
Our experience with Northlake Gardens Assisted Living has been tough and frustrating over the last few months. They assured us that our mom would receive round-the-clock care and regular in-room check-ins, as well as a fast response to any issues. Plus, they described a lively, loving community and tasty food. I can't argue about the quality of the food, at least. But one major issue is that our mom's been in pain, and no one gave her anything for two full days. It got so bad she dialed 911 to find help from the local emergency room. She also deals with eczema, and last month her doctor prescribed a cream especially to assist with that. The doctor said to use the cream "as needed", but that apparently translates to only when a resident requests it. But our mom has dementia and doesn't always know to request what she needs. After all, she asked for pain relief for two full days without getting any. Meanwhile her legs are covered in red, itchy bumps, and no one applied the cream because our mom didn't outright ask for it. Another issue has been a damp, mildewy smell in her room that we noticed after the first month. We immediately told the staff about it, from the maintenance and sales people all the way up to the executive director. But it was like they tried hiding the smell with fresheners. Only after more than three weeks later did they confirm the issue of mold. Aside from one time we saw her at dinner, I've always found our mom sitting alone in her room during my visits. We're not always there, but it's concerning to see this repeated pattern. So, knowing what we do now, would we still decide to move our mom into Northlake Gardens? The answer's a hard no.

"Both parents received excellent care at this facility"
Both my parents stayed here, and the staff is amazing. My dad says the food is great, and they took wonderful care of them both. My mom was in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, while my dad was recovering after being in the hospital and rehab for a long time. Mom has now moved to the Bridge group for Alzheimer’s patients, and Dad was able to go home. Unfortunately, he will be returning to NLG soon because he fell and broke his hip. We haven't looked for another place because we're really happy with the care they provide.

"Decent place, but outdated decor. Not right for Mom."
We checked out this place for Grandma. It looked nice, clean, and the staff were friendly. But the decorations seemed old-fashioned. We decided Grandma didn't need this kind of place.

"Monthly $2900-3700 plus $30 for meds and extra for care"
It costs around $2900-3700 each month. Your meds may add an extra $30 per month. If you need more help, expect to pay an additional $200-$800, based on how much support you need.

"Bright, Homey Community Close to Family"
We picked this place because it's close and convenient for our family. The inside of the community is very clean and bright, and it doesn't feel like a typical institution. It feels more like a home. Compared to the other place we were thinking about, Northlake seemed like a better fit for our loved one. The colors and lighting are similar to what she had at home. We're really happy with Northlake and would suggest it to anyone.
