"Mixed Feelings About Oaks at Pooler Memory Care"

We visited the Oaks at Pooler to find a place for our loved one with memory needs. The place was nice overall. But the part for Memory Care felt a bit gloomy to me. Even though, people we know say good things about it.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

The people living there are nice. But, they don't have enough workers. This makes it hard to get help. Sometimes, no one picks up the phone. We chose this place because others said it was good. They should get better at talking to us and cleaning the rooms. The workers are great though. They're really nice. I'd tell other families to consider it. Overall, we're mostly satisfied.

"Elevator too much for my loved one; didn't like layout."

The Oaks at Pooler wasn't my favorite because it had two floors, and using the elevator would be too difficult for my loved one.

"Short-Staffed Assisted Living Needs Employee Retention Improvement"

We really liked the caregivers, but there just aren't enough of them to properly care for everything and everyone. The staff, except for management, was great. They should work on keeping more employees because sometimes there's only one caretaker for the whole upstairs and one for the memory care unit.

"Friendly, close-knit community makes it feel like a vacation"

This is a smaller community, and I really like it. All the caregivers know each resident personally and treat them with respect. They encourage the residents to make friends and do things together, like shopping and playing games. It feels like an all-inclusive vacation for my loved one, and she really enjoyed it.

"Beautiful Inside and Out!"

Beautiful new facility with caring people working there. My parents are enjoying meeting people in their age group, sharing stories, and making new friends. I'm glad this facility is here for them to enjoy their golden years and be near my husband and me.

"Great place for dad!"

My dad loves this place! The staff and caregivers really take care of him, and the facility is always clean. The grounds are kept nice for the residents. The food is great; they have some good cooks. I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of this community. There are lots of activities when dad feels up to it. I give them 5 stars and would recommend this place to anyone looking for care for their loved ones.

"Issues with meals, but overall good experience at assisted living."

My mom is doing well at this place. We've had a few problems, but it's been mostly good. One thing bothering me is the meals. She has a special diet, but at first, the chef used too much salt which she shouldn't have. They're getting better with that now, but she eats the same things all the time. The place is new, so they're still fixing things. Her room is nice and clean, and the staff is really nice and helpful. There are good activities too. Overall, it's a good place, and I'd recommend it.

"Working Out a Few Issues, But Overall a Good Place"

My mom is doing well at this place. We’re still figuring out a few things, but overall, it’s been a good experience. The meals were a problem initially because of too much salt, but they’ve improved. Now, she eats the same things a lot. The facility is new, and they’re still working on some issues. Her room is nice, and they keep everything clean. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Good overall—I’d recommend it.
