"Assisted Living Facility Improves Service, Family Thrilled with Changes"

The food and rooms weren't great at first, but they've really improved. The rooms are good now. The cost is fair! Overall, our whole family is really pleased!

"Comfortable and Caring Place for Loved Ones"

We know the managers from another time, so we felt comfortable when they were at Somerby of Peachtree City. The head nurse has been really good at taking care of our loved one. We've had meals with our loved one a few times, and we think they're okay, but sometimes our loved one and some other people here have some complaints. Overall, based on our experience so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

"Assisted Living Review: Average Food, Small Rooms, Lacks Warmth"

The food was alright, and the rooms were tiny. The building seemed a bit older compared to others, and I didn't feel the caring vibe.

"Nice, modern facility; residents not active during tour"

Nice, modern facility; residents not active during tour, possibly timing.

"Happy with Somerby, Recommend to Others"

We really like Somerby of Peachtree City. We picked this place for mom because it was the only one that let us visit her a lot. The people who run the place send emails to keep families in the loop. I think other people should check it out too.

"Top-Notch Assisted Living with Great Value and Peaceful Location"

This place is really nice in every way. They have everything residents need right there or can take them to appointments if needed. Hospice patients can stay there until the end, so no need to move to a nursing home. The rates are fair for the high quality of the place and services. It offers the best value compared to other places I checked out. The location is safe and away from busy traffic. When I visited, there were only 2 units left out of many choices. I would have liked more options, but I think the one I chose is good.

"Attentive guidance, smooth transition for loved one."

They showed me around, answered questions. Transitioning smoothly for mom.

"Welcoming community with assisted living, great service."

The sales and marketing director was super helpful during our visit. Everyone, residents and staff, was nice and made us feel at home. It's awesome they offer assisted living and lots of amenities.

"A Warm and Welcoming Home"

Somerby has been great for our mom. People there are friendly, kind, and welcoming. They've embraced Mom, and she's becoming more involved every day, making new friends and trying new things. The staff helped her settle in, and they're open to feedback. Mom's apartment is nice and roomy, and we were surprised by how affordable it is. We always feel welcome when we visit.

"Variety Needed in Meal Options at Welcoming Assisted Living Facility"

The people who work here are really nice, caring, and friendly. They've been helping my mother-in-law join in the activities. She enjoys going to eat, but wishes they'd change up the lunch menu. Having hamburgers every day gets boring. Overall, we'd suggest this place because the staff was super friendly to us.

"Avoid this place with poor management and lack of activities"

This place is really neat and pleasant, and they actually do a decent job on the health care and food. But, the big problem is...they don't offer much in terms of activities for residents. And the worst part is, their head honcho doesn't seem to know her job at all and never responds to calls. .

"Good Food, Needs Better Staff Organization!"

My mom recently moved into this place and it's not half bad, but it could be better. The food is amazing. They always have tons of choices that I think are great. But the staff could definitely be more organized. The quality of how they take care of things could also use some work. That's my main issue.

"Bait and Switch Pricing Unsettling"

The facility looks nice, but the daily operations seem off. I'm pretty hands-on with my Mom's care, so I know I can be a bit demanding. The nurses are mostly great, but it seems like they're always short-staffed and I can never get a call back from the bosses. It's really pricey, and they keep hiking costs because of these "service levels" they talk about. Basically, the more help your Mom or Dad needs, the more you gotta pay to keep them there. Mom's health has taken a dip recently, and amid dealing with that, I get slapped with an extra fee through the MAIL. I'm starting to feel let down by the whole deal and am checking out other places for Mom.

"Great place, just too far away!"

The facility was beautiful and brand new. When we toured, we hardly saw anyone there. The main reason we didn’t choose Somerby is that it’s 45 minutes from our house. It’s a beautiful place, and I’d move in!

"Somerby Peachtree City: Safe, Happy, and Well-Cared For"

The staff are amazing, dedicated to the residents, and always there for families. The apartments are big with a nice private bathroom. Families can bring their own furniture and hang pictures on the walls. My family member feels safe, cared for, respected, and happy at Somerby.

"Be cautious, 'age in place' promise may not hold true!"

Our family checked out 10 assisted living facilities before finally deciding on what we thought was the top one in our area. We moved both of our parents into a comfortable, 2-bedroom apartment there. They informed us that our mom, who had memory loss, was eligible for special Memory Care, while our dad just required assistance with everyday tasks, like managing his medication and preparing meals. However, after just three weeks, we were informed that our dad had wandered off from the facility. They had moved both parents into the Memory Care section, and we needed to relocate their possessions right away because they couldn't stay in the assisted living section anymore. We were given just one more day to clear out any remaining belongings from their old apartment that couldn't be moved into their new room. Sadly, our dad's health rapidly deteriorated, and he passed away just four months later. Since he had been helping our mom out with a lot of daily tasks, she started needing more assistance. Two months later, we were advised to consider hiring a private caregiver. But when our mom had a fall in a public area and had to be taken to the emergency room, I got a call saying she wouldn't be allowed to return until she had a 24-hour private caregiver. Plus, they informed us of a $997 care level increase within days, meaning you would have to pay for additional assistance and provide it yourself with a private caregiver, on top of their already hefty monthly charges of over $6000. They backed off the 24-hour private caregiver requirement and said 12 hours would suffice when we mentioned that we were considering moving our mom. We eventually shifted her to a new place. I should note that there were some truly excellent caregivers at the previous facility. It's just important to understand that if you're hoping your loved one can "age in place" as was promised during the sales tour, you'll need to get hospice care or a private caregiver. In case you're wondering, caregivers charge about $16 to $18 per hour. And so, our mom, who is still grieving and struggling with Alzheimer's/Dementia, has to adjust to her new home. It's heartbreaking that things played out this way.

"New Owners, Mixed Changes: Our Experience at the Facility"

We liked it here when my mother-in-law stayed. They did well, and she seemed happy. But then, new owners came, and things shifted in the community. We noticed some changes we didn't appreciate.

"Wish They Could Take Leftovers Home"

The staff is great. I really like the activities they have for the residents. My in-laws enjoy the dining and the food, and they like meeting new people. I just wish they could take their leftovers to their room.

We visited Somersby with my friend. He adored it right away, saying it felt like a daily cruise for life. Now he’s moving in and can’t wait!

"A Wonderful Place to Live"

This place is really nice, and I like it a lot. Everyone is super kind and welcoming. The staff is great, always helpful and accommodating. There are lots of activities to choose from, and I’ve tried a few. The food is really good, and I enjoy the meals. Everything has worked out well for me here. I would highly recommend it; it’s a good place.

"Room for Improvement, But Progress is Being Made"

Their services could be better. They made a bunch of promises before we moved in, but they kind of ignored my parents for almost two weeks. We had a talk with them, and things have been getting better over the past three weeks.

"Not suitable for independent living, pricey assisted living only."

We checked it out when we were exploring choices. They just had assisted living, not independent yet. We wanted independent living. The assisted living was way more expensive.

"Understaffed facility forgets basic duties in first week"

They seem to be understaffed. It was like they didn't even know we had moved in. They forgot to do the laundry, make the beds, help with the baths, and even assign us a dinner table during the first week." .

"Struggling with Communication at Somerby Facility"

My mom stayed at Somerby in Peachtree City for 18 months. The place is gorgeous and it could be a great place for seniors if they tried. My mom got decent care, but it was a real struggle to talk to anybody in charge. Trying to organize meetings about her care was a real chore and it didn't get better afterward. Plus, it's like you can't call anyone if you have an issue. For all the money we spent on my mom's care, I'd expect them to be way better at answering emails and calls. Unfortunately, a lot of our communications got ignored and they're not good at following up.

"Well-Run Senior Home with Communication Room for Improvement"

I really like Somerby of Peachtree City! The rooms are awesome, food is yummy, and everyone on staff is super nice and helpful! My only gripe is sometimes they mix up messages when sharing medical news with families and doctors.

"Nice place overall, a little rocky at the start"

We had a bit of a bumpy start here, but now that my loved one is settling in and I'm getting used to how things work, I think everything will go well. The facility itself is beautiful, and the staff take great care of Mom day-to-day. She really enjoys the food here, too! They have various visiting doctors, which is convenient. However, I feel a bit out of the loop with their in-house doctors. When we started using them, they prescribed a medication, and I didn't find out until much later. Overall, it's a nice place, but there were some hiccups at the beginning.

"Challenging Communication and Unfulfilled Promises at Assisted Living Facility"

Communication with the staff at this assisted living facility was challenging. Despite our active involvement, we consistently struggled to receive responses about our loved one. We faced difficulties with proper food preparation, fluid checks, and medical monitoring. Many issues required numerous visits and repeated calls to address. We were informed that the "Best Friend Program" would be operational, which would have included personal escorting up to the apartment upon moving in. However, this program has not been launched in assisted living and none of these commitments were fulfilled. Additionally, we were led to believe that residents had to provide their own toilet paper. Yet, the lease contract clearly indicates the opposite. Our choice of Somerby centered on their Best Friend Program and their association with Piedmont Hospital physicians. Unfortunately, we were not informed that our loved one's medical details from a different Piedmont doctor wouldn't be accessible due to the Health Information Privacy Act. During our visits, Somerby was often understaffed. Nurses or CNAs could seldom be found without thoroughly searching for them at the other nurses' station down the hall. I am hopeful that Somerby is taking steps to address these ongoing issues. In the meantime, I'm writing this review to help future users be aware of potential problems. Always remember, the ultimate advocate for your loved one is you.

They've done a great job at Somerby of Peachtree City. I'd give them top marks all around! The place looks really nice, and the staff are super friendly and helpful.
