"Promises Unmet at Summerset Assisted Living"
When I first visited Summerset, it seemed like a great place. But after spending more time there, I’ve noticed that the care they said they would give isn’t what’s actually happening. It’s normal for workers to come and go in places like this, but the bosses at Summerset don’t seem to be keeping a close eye on the staff. This makes things worse. Even though I’ve told them about these problems many times, Summerset keeps saying they’ll fix them, but nothing really changes.

"Assisted Living Needs Improvement in Communication, Cleanliness, Staffing"
We chose this place 'cause it's nearby and handy. But, it'd be better if they talked more, cleaned up better, and had more workers.

"Friendly Staff, Nice Owner, but Lack of Openness in Layout"
The staff were very kind. I liked the place a lot. The owner was friendly too. The only issue was that they had two separate areas for nursing home and dementia residents. It didn't feel very open.

"Mixed Feelings About Summerset"
My Summerset tour went well. It’s a nice place, but quite large. Unsure if it’s right for my loved one.

"Summerset Review"
My mom stayed at Summerset three times for respite visits. The first stay lasted about five days, followed by two weekends. During her initial visit, we struggled to get in touch with anyone. Despite a head nurse being on duty, my sister's calls went unanswered for days. We felt completely in the dark about our mom's well-being. Their medication management was poor; Mom had to correct them on dosages. The room had cockroaches, and they consistently failed to return all her belongings. They even lost half of her dentures without taking responsibility. Communication was lacking, and we regretted considering Summerset for long-term care. Expensive compared to other facilities.

"Heartbreaking Communication Issues"
It was hard to get written rules for the facility. The staff seemed nice, but I prefer everything in writing. Unfortunately, I couldn’t directly call my loved one’s room at Summerset. I had to go through the front desk, but even then, I couldn’t reach them. When I tried to set up a FaceTime call, they always said my loved one wasn’t in their room. It felt like they didn’t try hard enough to find them. Also, they don’t allow visits in the first few weeks, which was really sad.

"Positive Experience with Assisted Living for Independent Seniors"
Overall, living here has been mostly positive and enjoyable. It's not perfect, but it's been good so far. My loved one really likes it here, and it's met my expectations. There have been some small issues, but overall, it's a very good place. My loved one eats regularly and hardly ever complains. When she moved in, the chef spoke with her about her food preferences, which I found impressive. If you're a senior needing moderate care, this assisted living is a good option. If you need extensive care, consider a nursing home instead.

"High Prices, Poor Management: Avoid This Assisted Living Facility"
This place is too pricey for the care they give. They keep charging high fees and don't even give good service. Their food isn't the best, and they’ve fed my loved one food they're allergic to more than once. Their place looks old and sad, it needs an upgrade ASAP. They do have some great caregivers, but the best ones keep leaving because the bosses don't treat them right. There aren't enough activities for the people who live there. They don't even get to see the sunlight and there's nothing new or creative about the way they take care of folks. There are way better places that cost less and take better care of people. Don't put your family in this place.

"Concerns Rise with Radio Silence from Assisted Living Facility"
I've reached out to this place thrice to learn more about it. Every single time, they jot down my details and promise a call back. No one has contacted me yet. This lack of professionalism really worries me. It makes me question their ability to look after our loved ones.

"Limited Kitchen and No Diabetic Menu at Assisted Living Facility"
Semi-private rooms are priced at $2800. For a one-bedroom, it's between $2500-3300. There's not a personal small kitchen in the rooms; just a tiny fridge. If you want to use a larger kitchen, you'll have to go to the shared one located at the end of the hall. They don't offer a diabetes-friendly menu, although they seem to think they can accommodate.

"Perfect Community for My Mom's Needs"
This community is a great place for my mom, and she is getting excellent care. She really enjoys the activities the most. The staff helps her with her medication and meals, and she gets three meals a day. They are also very informative.

"A Well-Kept Community"
My aunt stayed here for a while, and it’s a neat place. The food is tasty, and they organize daily activities. Most staff members are friendly and attentive, but there was some turnover. Newer staff seemed less experienced than the previous ones. The cost increased, so we found a more affordable community.

"Unkept Place, High Fees, and Unprofessional Staff"
The place and the nearby area were seriously falling apart. The cost to join this community was ridiculously high, especially when it didn't look like there were many residents or activities happening. It seemed ghostly. And let's not forget about the rude and uncouth people at the front desk. I also didn't appreciate being asked to fill out forms when I had already scheduled with APM. Everyone seemed unprepared and clueless.

"A great place for respite care!"
My aunt really likes staying at Summerset for respite care. The staff are great with her and our family. She enjoys playing bingo and joining in community activities. She thinks the food is okay, which is good for her. I would definitely recommend this very clean community.

"ALZHEIMER'S CARE FALLS SHORT AT THIS FACILITY"
Two years ago, we put a family member who has Alzheimer's disease in this assisted living facility. Everyone knew about her disease before she moved in. However, she was put in the same area as seniors who could live on their own. She'd go into other people's rooms and was hard to look after. FINALLY, after talking with the bosses, she was moved to "Memory Lane", the area for people with dementia. On Memory Lane, people watch a lot of TV. Over her two year stay, I only saw activities once or twice during my frequent visits. Whenever I visited, it seemed like the residents were given some kind of medicine to keep them calm. The place often smelled bad. My relative had some jewelry stolen and nothing was done. She was often dressed wrong and near the end of her stay, she would just stay in bed all day in her pajamas. The place was sometimes short on staff and only ONE person would look after 10-15 residents. If that one person was helping another resident, the rest of them were left alone. My relative often had other people's laundry in her drawers. After complaining a lot, we started putting the stuff that wasn't hers on top of her dresser so it could be returned. After my relative passed away, we didn't get a single flower, card, message or any kind of condolence from the facility even though she stayed there for TWO YEARS! The owners seem to care about old people, but their sons who are taking over the business don't seem interested or knowledgeable about how to run the facility. If you're thinking about putting your relative here, be sure to do your homework, leave your valuables at home and DON'T expect any sympathy from them when your loved one dies!!!

his place doesn't require a long stay, but it's pricier and lacks outdoor activities. Still, it's clean and well-kept, though a bit far from my neighborhood.

"Great care and a welcoming community!"
The community encourages families to visit and take their loved ones out for the day. The staff keep us well informed about my mom's care, and they are very attentive. I haven’t tried the food yet, but it looks good. The community is clean, well maintained, and it is gated. I would recommend Summerset to family and friends.

My 98-year-old father, a retired USA veteran, moved to Summerset Assisted Living at the end of 2015, and our family has found it to be a wonderful place for him to live. The owners and staff take excellent care of him, showing professionalism and responsibility in everything they do. The facility is always clean, with no bad smells, and they handle medications on time. Laundry is done and placed neatly in each apartment, and the building is secure 24/7. The food is great (the fish is delicious!), and they contact us immediately if there’s any concern about a resident. My dad’s apartment is the perfect size, and there are activities for socializing when he wants. Our family gives Summerset a top-notch rating because we’re confident that all his needs are met. Together, the Summerset team and our family are ensuring he ages gracefully and with dignity.

It's been really good. I'm super happy with them. They're friendly and family-oriented, which I really like. The place is clean, and the staff is nice and helpful. The value is excellent, and they do a great job with care services. They even offer activities. Summerset Assisted Living is a nice community, and we haven't had any issues. Everything is good.

"Summerset is the best choice for assisted living!"
I looked at many places in the Metro Atlanta area, and I found Summerset to be the best. I have helped with the care of four elderly relatives in my family, including my mom, and two who live in other states. My relative at Summerset had caregivers in the home for several years. I suggest getting to know the care team, understanding what your family member does during the day, and telling the management staff if something happens that you don’t agree with. Nothing is perfect, but Summerset is a really nice place to think about if you want a place away from home.

My experience with Summerset has been great! The staff is very kind, nurturing, and caring. The activities are fun and keep everyone engaged. They encourage my grandmother to join in daily, but if she doesn't want to, they respect her choice without being too pushy. I feel safe knowing she's being well taken care of when I'm not there. Getting her medications on time is never an issue. The staff has a wonderful bedside manner and makes sure her medicine is given on schedule, which is really important. Summerset feels like home, and everyone there is very helpful and kind. Each time I visit, I see how nurturing the staff is to all the residents, and I appreciate that a lot. My family is very impressed with the facility and staff. They are great to work with! We’ve had six family members live at Summerset over the last eight years because we trust the care here. There isn’t another assisted living facility in the state where we’d want our family to live. When the time comes, my wife and I plan to live at Summerset too!

"Bad Staff, Poor Care, Unstable Meds System"
The people who take care of us here are mean, really unskilled, and don't care about older people. Most of us need help that we should be getting in a place with workers who have more training. They need way more staff so there are enough carers for everyone. The way they make sure we get our medicine isn't good and it's shaky.

I’m really impressed with Summerset. It’s a gated community where you have to call for them to open the gate, and the front door is coded. It’s a very safe place for seniors. I love that every time I visit, someone is always with my mom. She seems to be adjusting well. They offer a lot of activities like stretching exercises and puzzles, though my mom isn’t very interested in joining. These places can be pricey, but you get a lot for the cost. So far, I’m still very impressed.

"July 6 Tour: Friendly Staff, Clean Facility, Unclear Pricing & Amenities"
Took a tour on July 6. Awesome staff and sparkling facility. However, the tour was disorganized. I didn't fret because I thought they’d give me pamphlets with more details about the community, including its layout, culture, whether it's lively, progressive, etc. However, the material I received was rather dull and just had basic info and history. The whole place and room designs still seemed confusing. The representative couldn't provide an exact price, stating it was dependent on an assessment? She later mentioned an approximately starting cost of '3000.00.' Most rooms were occupied. An empty 'respite' room was spacious and well-decorated but overly damp (perhaps due to recent carpet cleaning). It was unclear who the ideal resident is, but most seemed inactive. Compared to other assisted living homes, this one felt more like a nursing home with fewer social activities available, though it might suit this community. Smoking had restrictions. The facility had beautiful music, but I worried it may overpower caregivers' voices. I also wished for more caregivers. My visit might've been on a weekend with fewer staff.
