"Mixed Experiences with Assisted Living Facility"
The cleaning here is hit or miss. Sometimes, they don’t clean the rooms or change the sheets. At first, they didn’t do our laundry, but it’s a bit better now. Every bill has had mistakes, and I’ve had to call them about it. The people who work with the residents are nice, but the bosses don’t really listen or talk back. It’s hard to get any information from them. When we first moved in, it was all on us. There was just a sign at the front desk, but no one showed us around or told us what to do. We’ve had two sickness outbreaks. They didn’t tell us about the first one, and they took too long to tell us about the second. I’ve had to be way more involved in her care here than when she was living on her own. I don’t think I’d tell people to come here.

"Good Care, Some Minor Issues"
The price for taking care of her is good and fits our budget. The rooms are big, and they were really nice and quick to help her move in. The nurses are doing a great job too. The place feels open and like one big house for everyone, not closed off, which is great. But the lady at the front desk isn’t super friendly, and she was too pushy about my mother-in-law getting her flu shot, which we didn’t like. Also, the doorbell at the front door doesn’t work a lot, so it’s hard for us to get inside. I wish we had special keys to open the doors. They should also have more fun things to do or church stuff. The food is just okay, and they’re not making sure my mother-in-law eats right for her diabetes, so her blood sugar has been high too much lately. But other than that, she loves it there and is really happy.

"Good Start, But Not for Advanced Care"
My family member was going through a tough change with her dementia. She moved from living on her own at The Park to staying at Sunrise. In the early days when she could do more things by herself, Sunrise was a great fit and they looked after all she needed. But as her dementia got worse quickly, I felt that their special memory care area wasn’t the best for her. She needed more activity and someone to pay attention to her needs. Plus, the space was too small and she really needed more room to walk around.

"Financial Clarity Needed"
Our family toured this assisted living facility as our second choice. The visit was pleasant, but we discovered that beyond a base fee, additional charges would vary based on the level of care needed. We were hoping for a fixed payment to avoid constant changes in expenses.

"Residents' Experience"
During Covid, communication was just okay. They didn't tell me when my loved one ate in her room or the dining area. The food came in Styrofoam containers like restaurant leftovers, and it was often cold. Maybe they were short-staffed, but they didn't talk to us about it. There were no activities, and residents couldn't leave and come back. Even now, with eased restrictions, their activities are weak—just Bingo. Residents needing help rarely get to go out. The reception desk ladies are kind and calming, though.

"A Great Place for Mom's Care"
My mother-in-law really likes living there. The staff takes good care of her and keeps track of what she needs. They are very attentive to her care. The food is excellent, and the kitchen staff is awesome. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We haven't had any problems with them. They communicate well and keep us updated about her and her care. During Covid-19, they did a great job keeping everyone safe, and as far as we know, no one at the community got sick.

"Excited to Move In!"
We were very pleased with this place. The facility is beautiful, clean, and easy to get around (my MIL uses a wheelchair sometimes). The staff seemed attentive to the residents, who play an active role in how the place is run. Some staff even have loved ones living there, which says a lot. We chose this place and are looking forward to moving my MIL in.

"Consistent Excellent Care with a True Sense of Community"
My loved one has been in the memory care unit at Sunrise of Ivey Ridge for almost a year. From our first talks with them, we felt there was something special about this place. After having experience at a different facility, we knew what we wanted and found it at Sunrise of Ivey Ridge. The professionalism and authenticity from the Management to the Care Staff is refreshing and inviting. My loved one has received CONSISTENT EXCELLENT CARE from the same team of caregivers the entire time. They know her, love her, and treat her with dignity and respect. My mom has found a COMMUNITY at Sunrise. She is CONTENT, CLEAN, and SAFE.

"Cold Reception and Dismal Atmosphere at Assisted Living Facility"
A relative of mine lived there for a while and every time I came to visit during the night, the lady at the reception was quite rude and aloof. This wasn't only limited to her as majority of the employees behaved in the same way. The quality of attention given to the residents was poor and I noticed a lack of engaging activities offered. Overall, the atmosphere was quite dismal.

""Management Falls Short at Sunrise at Ivey Ridge""
My mom was in the memory care unit at Sunrise at Ivey Ridge for two years. The regular staff was nice and cared for her well. But, the bosses weren't as good. In two years, there were at least four directors in charge. They didn't keep in touch and were hard to reach. After my mom passed away this week, I had to call at least twice to find out how to give away her stuff. Nobody called me when she passed away. If you're in charge of older folks, you should definitely call the family when they die. It's just basic manners for the bosses.

"Ivey Ridge Turned Things Around"
Before moving to Sunrise at Ivey Ridge, my mother was severely depressed. She became a recluse, wasn’t eating, was losing weight, and often said she just wanted to die. Ivey Ridge became her home three years ago. Today, she is thriving and has become very social. In her own words, "I love my home and all my friends." My family is so thankful to have found this place.

"Great Place with Wonderful Staff and Meals"
Our father has been at Sunrise at Ivey Ridge for 6 months, and he's had a great experience from the beginning. They welcomed us with a fantastic meal when we arrived late on a Sunday. The new management director is excellent, and a top chef has come back, making the meals and parties much better. The care team is always smiling and kind to our father. The front desk staff is amazing—there are three of them, and they handle all our requests quickly. We can't say enough good things about our experience here. Our father is almost 95, and we think we picked the best place for him. The location is great too.

"Regret Choosing Understaffed, Overpriced Assisted Living Facility"
I definitely regret not looking more into this place before choosing it. We had to decide quickly, and I now wish we hadn't. There aren't enough workers here. The cleaning isn't good and the workers seem unhappy and don't get paid enough — you can see it in how they treat the people living here. The place feels sad because the activities are not fun and there's hardly anything to do. They ask for a lot of money, and they charge you for every little thing, which is really not worth it. Don't trust everything the salesperson tells you. I thought Sunrise was a good choice, but it's not like it used to be. If I could go back, I would look at other places too. Make sure to ask lots of questions about what kind of care they provide. And remember, no matter how good a place looks, it's how they take care of people that matters the most.

"Avoid placing family at poorly managed Sunrise facility"
They deserve zero stars for their care services. They really do not have enough staff. The meals they serve are awful and the servings are pretty small. The only activities that they have is bingo and trips to Publix. The management leaves right at 5pm. They are fully aware of the problems but they don't seem to care about fixing them. My best friend's mom is here and she complains about this place to me every day. She doesn't like it but it's near her home so she puts up with it. That's not a good enough reason to have your parents here. I wouldn't let my parents stay here. I'm still searching for a better place for my parents. The folks living there are just hanging around. They don't talk about their issues in the monthly meetings because they either forget due to dementia or they're scared they'll be treated worse. It takes a special person to operate and work in a place that looks after old people. Sunrise just doesn't have the right people.

"High cost, appalling care at Sunrise: Look elsewhere"
Don't let the steep cost and luxe design of this place fool you. I'm saying this after witnessing the care of a loved one here. The number of caregivers to residents is severely lacking; medical staff is absent, and the meals served are poor and always late and cold. Residents who cannot feed themselves are left to starve. It's heartbreaking to see patients left unattended in their own filth for hours on end. There's scarce stimulation activities; many times, they are merely seated in front of off TVs. The higher-ups just care about ensuring all beds are occupied, not about the residents. Sunrise failed to notify me that my mom had passed or that she had stopped eating. However, they sure contacted me after her death to settle her bill, though they hadn't bothered to communicate while she was still alive. In a nutshell, there are far superior care options out there at more reasonable prices. I'd recommend a smaller institution or a home care setup.

"Understaffed and Underwhelming: Expensive without Much to Offer"
There aren't many workers here. This center is really for people who don't need a lot of help. The food is kind of good, but they don't give you much. And it doesn't taste great, also, it's often cold, but it can be worse. They keep serving the same things. Lots of times, there are no activities planned for the folks who live here. The older folks spend too much time doing nothing. They just watch TV for hours. They don't have much to look forward to every day. It's a lot of money for what they offer. The building is old and not designed well for people who use walkers or wheelchairs. There are no bathrooms that are easy to get into and the doorways aren't wide. With so many new spots opening up, keep looking. This place should be your last choice.

"Miserable experience. Keep on the lookout for other facilities."
Their advertising and sales are excellent. But the actual care, it's a total letdown. This place feels like a haunted house. Hardly any activities, and none that really engage the people living here. The nurse is rarely around. Nobody's overseeing during nighttime. Daytime supervision is also seriously lacking. They're not checking in on residents often enough to see if they're coping fine. Management lacks leadership. The workers seem unhappy. The food's terrible and often served cold. The good members of staff left a while ago. If you're looking to just store your loved one somewhere, then sure, pick this place. But if you're hoping for a place that does more than just help your loved one get dressed and park them in front of the TV, you need to keep scanning the horizon. Make sure you're attending support meetings. They won't just help you deal, but you'll find out useful stuff about different retirement homes. Keep your eyes peeled for other options.

"Great Community for Mom's Care!"
My mom is living at this community, and everything is going well so far. The staff are nice and welcoming, and the place looks clean. I would recommend this community if someone needs it.

"Do Better For Our Elders: Sunrise At Ivy Ridge Fails"
This place doesn't deserve a single star. Our elders are unattended and overlooked. Their calls for help are not being answered, leaving them waiting for a long time. We regret bringing our family member here. We've voiced our worries, but no one seems to be listening. Things stay the same; nobody seems willing to make adjustments. Our seniors deserve a comfortable life. For the amount being charged, they should be receiving exceptional service. The local staff merely apologizes in response to negative reviews. Don't just be sorry - take action. This is the twilight of our senior's lives; let's make it remarkable. Provide them with thoughtful care, delicious food, engaging activities, patience, and empathy. Sunrise at Ivy Ridge gets a failing score from me.

"Quickly steer clear of this failing, overpriced care home"
The care and management here are terrible. The meals are just as bad. Do they even have activities? All they offer is bingo and ice cream parties. Sometimes, some people show up to sing songs. But where's the excitement? For anything to get done, families have to constantly nag the management. One poor girl is always there, taking care of her dad. It makes me feel so bad for her. Putting our trust in the reviews and choosing this place was a mistake. Keep looking elsewhere. The moment your loved one moves in here, prices start increasing-they're always finding ways to charge you more. There are better care facilities out there, keep searching. We plan to move our loved one as soon as possible. The staff here is stressed and not at all friendly. This place is going downhill fast. .

"Steer Clear of this Terrible Elderly Care Facility!"
Don't be fooled by this place's decent location -- it doesn't live up to any of its promises. I've had a loved one here for over half a year and no matter how much I complain, the care is simply atrocious. The food is bad, the activities and games are not fun and the staff is always in a bad mood. There is no effort from management to improve things. Myself and two other families are desperately trying to find a better place. My tip for you? Stay away -- and that goes for all Sunrise properties. They're going to charge you an arm and a leg for truly lousy service. If your family member needs assistance with things like daily tasks, bathing, or using the restroom, this facility just won't cut it. I refuse to believe all senior living homes are this terrible -- you can find a good one. Keep searching.

"Hospice care overlap needs clearer expectations"
My mother-in-law’s short stay was with hospice, so we didn’t see any of the activities. Care Services The care was good, but it was confusing to know what parts were Sunrise’s responsibility and what the in-house hospice did. There was also a change in hospice providers happening at the time. This would likely have worked out, but my mother-in-law passed three weeks after moving in, so we didn’t have enough time to fully judge the experience. It would be helpful to have a clearer explanation of what to expect with in-house hospice, including potential issues and how it’s different.

"Poor Care and Feeding at Sunrise at Ivey Ridge"
Our time at Sunrise at Ivey Ridge was pretty bad. The way they cared for my special person in their memory section was super disappointing. We faced issues with how they handled medication and how they generally cared for them. I hardly get to see any activities happening. Most times, people are just staring at the TV all day.
