"Concerning Issues at The Glenn Assisted Living Facility"
I worry about Mom's heavy pain meds and their daily "Happy Hour" at 4 p.m. When I visited, they asked if she wanted her usual drink. She said yes. They gave her half a glass of Jack Daniel's over ice. Months later, relatives said she drank too much at a University of Georgia Football game event. She fell out of bed, split her forehead, needed stitches, and had two black eyes. While I believe in socializing and having a drink, I don't support over-serving elderly people with disabilities. Also, my brother, a convicted felon, comes and goes freely, which concerns our family and should be addressed by the administration.

"Music Choice for Seniors' Meals"
Regarding meals and dining, my mom has gained weight. I talked to the staff about it. Also, since most residents are in their 80s and 90s, they should play music from their generation during meals instead of music from the 1980s and 1990s.

"Loved One Thrived at The Glen"
The apartment between residents could use a thorough cleaning by professionals. The community’s housekeeping was good when my loved one lived there. Care services were very good, and the staff were great. However, they seemed short-handed as they wore many hats. Residents had plenty of meal options, and the food was fine when we dined with our loved one. There were numerous activities available, including outings and resident council meetings.

"Mismanaged Facility Fails Residents, Families Leaving in Droves"
My relative is at the memory care section of this assisted living facility. A Receiver has assumed control after the place failed to pay their mortgage. Now everything is going downhill - there's less staff, fewer resources, and it's clear this guy doesn't know how to run things. The memory care part feels more like a scaled-down nursing home. A bunch of families have packed up and left, and we're about to do the same. I would not advise anyone to put their loved one in this over hyped facility.

"Unfriendly Staff and Lack of Care at Assisted Living Facility"
A few workers there were really great, but others were downright rude. They didn't set up any fun stuff to do, and just said it was because of COVID. It felt like they didn't really look out for the people who live there; they didn't help them change clothes regularly. One person ended up with bed sores that weren't even mentioned. This person was also super thirsty all the time and had to visit the hospital more than once. The care they provided was seriously bad. There was no talking between the workers, the residents, and their families. Don't be fooled by how nice the place looks, we were totally let down.

"Great activities, but inconsistent food quality"
They had activities like card playing, music, and a happy hour. The location was great, and the apartment and room sizes were good. I would recommend this to a family or friend. The food quality was inconsistent, sometimes very poor and sometimes excellent.

"The Glen at Lake Oconee Village provides excellent care!"
As a medical social worker and certified care manager, I had many needs when searching for an assisted living community for my mother. The Glen meets all our needs with caring and attentive staff, a beautiful environment, well-coordinated medical care, great communities, fun activities, lots of food choices, personalized care, and security. We can relax knowing our mother gets excellent care.

"The best 24-hour care!"
Three weeks ago, my husband of 51 years moved into The Glen. It was a hard decision, but it was the right one. He now has the best 24-hour care possible.
