I picked this community because it was the only one that could provide the care my father needed. After reading reviews and hearing feedback from medical professionals, we decided on Oaks at Pooler. And let me tell you, the food here is fantastic! It's like dining at a 4-star restaurant. They even accommodate special dietary needs and offer extra portions if you're still hungry. Plus, if we wanted to eat with Dad, it was only $7 for a complete meal—what a deal! The dining hall has an impressive all-glass atrium with a lovely waterfall and greenery inside. The facility itself is stunning, even though it's still under construction. They keep it clean, and the walkways around the building are filled with greenery, gardens, and flowers—just like the pictures online. The staff is amazing. They know everyone's name, including family members. Even after my dad had to move facilities, they remembered me and asked about his well-being. The apartments are spacious and meet ADA standards. While there's no stove (for safety reasons), there's a kitchen with a fridge and microwave. One downside: the apartments aren't furnished, so we had to buy a bed, dishes, and bed linens. But the place is dog-friendly, which helps my dad feel more at home. And every week, they thoroughly clean the apartment—making the bed, washing sheets and towels, mopping the floor, and taking out the trash. The only thing they don't clean is the fridge.
