"Overpriced, Smelly and Disorganized: Worst Assisted Living in Town"
This place has to be the worst combination of a sloppy staff and disorganized leaders. Everyone recognizes them as the bottom of the barrel in town. You simply can't depend on them. The food is awful, and the main hangout area smells bad. The room is tiny, poorly lit, and just a pathetic place to be. The bed is basically just a stinky cot. They charge way too much for what you get.

"Excellent Care and Activities Make Mom Happy"
My mom's doing pretty good since she moved here. They take good care of her, and I know she's safe. The staff is nice and talks to us well. There are things for her to do all day. Overall, she's doing fine, and I'm happy with what they do for us.

"Close to Hospital: Nice, Friendly Assisted Living Community"
The Bickford of Sioux City was a really nice place. It looked well taken care of, and the people who worked there were super friendly. We decided not to choose it because my dad wanted to be nearer to the hospital where my wife works and where our family lives. But overall, I thought it was a great place.

"Nice tour, pressured sales; not right location for me."
I had a really good time on the tour. Everyone was so nice and they talked a lot about how they make homemade meals there. The price seemed about the same as other places I checked out. It felt cozy, like a real home. I talked to my dad about it, but he didn't want to go see it because it's too far from where I live. Someone from Bickford even went to talk to my dad at the rehab place he was staying to try to convince him to stay there after rehab, but he still wasn't interested. One thing that bothered me was that they were really pushy about trying to get me to agree to have my dad stay there. Also, they kept asking me to put down money before I made up my mind, which I didn't like.

"Check Your Insurance Before Moving"
They're doing a good job taking care of my husband's needs at this community. The facility is well-maintained, and his room is clean when I visit. We've had some issues with medications and insurance, but overall, things are going well. They offer activities, and he's happy with the food. Keep in mind, though, it's quite expensive. If you can afford it, I'd recommend it.

"Great place with small improvements needed for perfect service"
When handing out meals, make sure everyone at one table is served before moving to another table. It would also be helpful to have someone in charge of coffee, especially at breakfast, as often you only get one cup and no refills. This person could also check if you need anything else. To save money, stop printing the menu since it’s usually not followed. For those who don’t get their meds from the nurse, the daily activities board isn’t always visible, so it should be displayed in another spot too. If you have issues with something, speak to the manager politely and they can help fix it. We all have our problems here, but the staff is very helpful. Overall, this is a good place for your loved ones.
