"Poor Leadership and Limited Activities at Edencrest"
My time at Edencrest wasn't great. Only the housekeeper, who also took care of laundry, and the van driver/handyman did their jobs well. The executive director was too young and inexperienced. He couldn't even send out monthly invoices in time - I didn't get one until March. The person in charge of activities was rude, dismissive and didn't come up with anything beyond Bingo for us to do. She was really disrespectful to us residents at times.

Certainly! Here's a revised version of the review in an 8th-grade level American English: "Edencrest in Johnston has some issues. The food is mostly deep-fried and full of carbs, with not enough fresh fruits and veggies. The menu isn't good for diabetics, and they should offer more choices. The night staff isn't great. They don't communicate well with residents, often chatting on their cell phones instead. Wheelchair-bound residents wait too long for assistance in the dining room, pressing their call buttons repeatedly. On weekends, the front desk is empty, leaving visitors confused. Phone calls go unanswered during the week. Communication overall is terrible. Aides need to put away their cell phones during work hours. They should learn how to build better relationships with residents through kindness and respect. Maybe incentives would help. The activity director lacks creativity and keeps a messy room. She should be replaced by someone who truly enjoys the job. Activities need improvement." "Mixed Feelings: Assisted Living Facility Review"
We picked this place for our relative with severe memory problems because it's away from busy areas that made them upset and eager to leave. Security here is excellent, easing our worries about them wandering off. The staff is friendly and helpful, which is great. The setup feels old-fashioned, though. Rooms are along a long hallway, making it hard to see everyone at once. Taking care of people with dementia is tough. Sometimes our relative won't eat, and the staff doesn't always follow the plan we made. Getting them to take medicine regularly is also a struggle. The food is just okay, nothing like home-cooked meals. Our relative seems okay with it, though. They enjoy the snacks and cookies in the afternoon. Keeping the apartment clean is hard, especially with incontinence issues. We have to visit often to help with that. Pets are allowed, which is nice, but the barking bothers our relative. They used to have private care at home, which they preferred. Now, they feel bored and lonely because they don't like group activities. This facility is better than the last one, but we're still working with them to make sure our relative is happy and well cared for.

"Good Care, Management Could Improve"
The helpers here are really good at their jobs and are always there to answer our questions, plus the activities are fun. However, the management could do better. Every time I try to talk to the boss, he’s never around to answer my calls or he’s already left for the day when I visit. It feels like they’re just giving me the runaround. The assistant boss seems friendly, but I accidentally heard her saying not-so-nice things about some of the folks living here to other workers. On the bright side, the place looks amazing, the meals are tasty, and the view is awesome!

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
I enjoy the open dining concept, but the rooms feel a bit small and dark. The setting outside is beautiful.

"Communication and Care Lacking at Edencreat"
Since my family member moved into Edencreat, we’ve run into a few problems. The meals are pretty tasty, and the place looks mostly clean. But the big issue is that the folks working there don’t keep me in the loop about how my family member is doing. They say he’s “resting easy,” even when things are rough. They’re not great at talking to me, and sometimes they give him stuff he shouldn’t have without telling me. He needs to be active, get some therapy, and have things to do to stay sharp. But they’re not helping him with any of that. He just stays in bed all day watching TV. They’re also supposed to clean his room every month, but they don’t, so I end up doing his laundry. I really wish I could say things were going well, but sadly, they’re not.

"Great tour and warm welcome hoping Mom loves Edencrest"
Thank you for the wonderful tour! We felt really welcomed. The life enrichment director went above and beyond to make Mom feel special. We met so many kind people and hope everything works out so Mom can call Edencrest her home soon!

"Family-Friendly Location with Caring Staff; Dad's Happy and Engaging"
We visited several communities, all nice and offering what we wanted. But this one stood out for its location—it's much closer to us than the others. The staff here is very friendly and caring. Dad seems happy; he's starting to socialize more, and hopefully, that will continue. He hasn't complained about the food, so I think he likes it. Overall, we're pleased with this community and the care he receives.

"Clean, friendly community with limited skilled nursing care options."
This community was our second choice. The staff we met were nice and helpful. The place looked clean and had good amenities and activities. But they didn't have the nursing care my loved one needed, so we picked a different place.

"Nice Place, Friendly People, but Slow Responses"
I visited a few places, including Edencrest at Green Meadows. This place was nice and clean. Most of the staff were friendly. However, some places didn't call me back after checking on my mom, which was really discouraging.

"Positive Experience in Safe, Caring Assisted Living Community"
My father is currently in rehab but will return to this community once he's better. It's a safe place, and I feel comfortable with him coming back. They're taking good care of him and meeting his needs. The staff here is really good—they're helpful and kind. They keep the facility and his room clean and tidy. It's clear they genuinely care about their residents. I would recommend this community; it's a nice place to be.

"Mixed Feelings on Community Layout and Organization"
I visited this community. The staff were friendly, but the place seemed a bit chaotic. It didn't have the layout we needed for our specific requirements. It's not the exact fit for our family. Families should visit for their loved one's care.
